    Lashoff sent down to GR

He's not that bad. He's not the answer to all the offensive problems, but he has the potential to be a big part of the answer. And he would help offensively, even with how "ineffective" you seem to think he is, he was still producing at a better rate than Miller, Tootoo, and Emmerton.

With injuries on the forward front it's not surprising. Lashoff has also been struggling a bit lately. Which is expected as a rookie.

Brunner hasn't hit the wall. He has slammed into it.

I'm not worried. It's not a lack of effort, he just needs to learn the game. His talent is there, he is a great skater, and the shot is top notch. He's also better than I thought he would be passing the puck. He just over thinks the game too much, and he makes some really bad decisions defensively. He is really raw when it comes to that part of the game, but he has never stopped skating or anything like that. So I definitely think his game will develop with time. Once he starts to understand the game he'll create more offensive opportunities for himself by creating turnovers. His hot start had a lot to do with everyone around him playing well, once Zetterberg fell off he's game went right with him. And Brunner's not at the level yet where he can create his own scoring chances. The good news is he won't get a big deal, that kinda scared me in the beginning of the year when he was close to the goal scoring lead. Now hopefully we sign him to a couple year deal, and have a steal of a player once his game develops.

What the hell is kronwall doing? He is terrible he just abandoned his ice to go across the rink. He might be our worst defenseman

Kronwall sucks. Can't even cover a ahl player in front of the net. What a joke.

Boris Valabik couldn't skate like Bouwmeester, nor did he have the skill or intelligence.

His size is useful for his reach. I don't know how that can be argued.

    Teams in 2013 Salary Crunch

Yeah, this is going to be an interesting dynamic to the off season, or even this trade deadline. These teams need to trim salary, so there could be some good deals.

Crosby left the game after puck to the face

"score" Is a general term of assists, and goals. Or are the people that describe the Art Ross wrong?

Leopold to the Blues/ Allen sent to Peoria

Honestly last year probably. But he's been brutal this year for the most part. So probably only 2nd round pick

Crosby left the game after puck to the face

This is so pointless. My context was "scoring leader" as in leading the league in points. The art ross is given to the Is it that difficult to grasp? Is it that big of a sin that I didn't say "point scoring leader". Do people really only attribute scoring to goals and not points? Or are you just trying to run around in circles and argue meaningless things?

Crosby left the game after puck to the face

I'm not trying to draw any reaction though, I'm just discussing topics on a hockey board. I could be making threads all about Crosby, but I try to limit myself to just threads about him. I don't bring him up out of context, like Franzen is. I don't get it, just because you don't like my opinion doesn't make it trolling. Feel free to actually discuss ideas instead of other posters. Like how you seem to think scoring only means goals. That's rich, you must be such a hockey encyclopedia, can you please share some more of your great insight? No, it really doesn't. The art ross is given to the league's scoring leader. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Art_Ross_Trophy You are thinking of goal scoring.

Huskins to Flyers for conditional 7th rd pick (2014)

I don't believe you should spend that much money in the cap era for a goal scoring specialist. You need your best players to be versatile, Ovechkin is a dynamic goal scorer, and I would love him on my team for maybe 6-7 million. But 9.5 takes away a very solid player. I'd take Kronwall+Filpulla over Ovechkin any day. If Ovechkin can ever get back to a 60 goal pace, then he might be worth that, but right now he is just a very good player.

Crosby left the game after puck to the face

Depends on how the teeth are hit. If they are knocked out clean you can dull the nerves and stitch it up in the dressing room, but if they are chipped and pushed in the gums it can't really be dealt with at the rink, and the pain really can't be dulled easily. Also take into account it's a regular season game, and his team is well ahead in the standings. It's not worth the risk with that context.

Crosby left the game after puck to the face

Not trying to sound condescending here, but you do realize that scorer is used to describe scoring points? You do know that the Art Ross is for leading the league in "scoring points". I don't understand why you seem to make it personal with "are you his mom" type remarks. I have no qualms with you. I try to respect people's opinions, I'm not going to call Euro_twins anything because we disagree, I actually enjoy discussing hockey and hearing out their view points, and I enjoy sharing mine. Not sure why it doesn't seem encouraged. That's fair, I'm in the camp that is thinking he was just hitting his prime at that time, and if he wasn't injured his numbers would be at least the same, or better. As the sample size is about the same. Really hope he can stay healthy for a full season and see if he can answer that question definitively though.

Crosby left the game after puck to the face

I never said that he was better than Gretzky, I said he is playing better than the 93-94 version of Gretzky. And hopefully he can play a full season, but he's been at a 1.60 pace for the last 3 years. And in today's game that's pretty impressive, is it not?
  19. Carman

Crosby left the game after puck to the face

Considering he's had 159 points in his last 98 games while playing a better two way game? Yes.

That's not what this thread is about, was just answering why this is relevant to this forum. Here is a interesting list that might be surprising to you. http://www.hockey-reference.com/leaders/points_per_game_career.html Feel free to PM me if you would like to discuss it further. Good to here it seems like just teeth, a broken jaw could sideline him for a while.

Crosby left the game after puck to the face

Because this forum is about talking about the NHL in general. And the leading scorer in the league, and currently best player of the past 20 years just got hit in the face with a 90 mile per hour slap shot. Don't really have to read the thread if it doesn't interest you.

    Top 6 fwd next?

I'd do it. They might want more, I have no idea what their needs are though. But I think we can afford to let some prospects go. I really wouldn't touch Sproul, Mrazek, or Jarnkrok. And I wouldn't want to lose both Nyquist or Tatar. But everyone else I might be able to let go, especially for someone that can contribute for several more seasons.

Leopold to the Blues/ Allen sent to Peoria

Picks aren't that valuable anymore. Quincey worth a first rounder, Gaustad etc. But then you see Iginla for a 1st and it's like what? Kinda crazy prices right now.

Crosby left the game after puck to the face

They've had Malkin, Letang and Fleury out this season and they are still the best team in the NHL? What do you mean back to what they were?

    Top 6 fwd next?

Now that would be interesting. He would probably cost a ton though...; But he would be an interesting fit. Definitely help offensively, and physically.
