Now how bout they try actually holding a lead and not sit back in their own defensive zone and watch the other team circle the puck without being opposed by anyone. Howard needs to STOP sprawling around in the crease too...he's not Hasek....

Somebody PLEASE break Cleary's leg again so we don't have to look at him again for a while.....

Someone tell Jimmy Howard his last name isn't Hasek and he has NO reason to sprawl around on the ice....how many more pointless power plays can we give them this period???

Once again, thanks Ken Holland for years of sitting back doing nothing and not having a plan in place for when Nick retired...thanks buddy!

I know we all expected this and it's only 1 period of the first game...but ugh...our blueline looks awful without Nick. Then again...last season everyone not named Nick looked awful as well....

So Minnesota finishes 9th this year instead of 11th or 12th??....ha

A. I would think he's earned the right to have his jersey retired...? B. Hank or Pavel for the C now??

Not trying to be doom and gloom, just moreso frustration that in my opinion, we'll have to sit through another rough year next season of subpar defense. I just don't trust the likes of Ericsson, Kindl, & Quincey to not still have 30 or so mental breakdowns a night sadly... Cause I've seen how Suter can be..he feeds off of Weber...both Weber & Suter have made each other what they are. Suter is in no position to just come and assume the role of top d-man anywhere right now...but that's just my take..we need at least 2 more FA defensemen to help us...but nobody is out there sadly.

First off, one of the greatest human beings to ever play the game, thanks Nick for all the memories you've given us over the years! This is what Ken Holland gets for having no Plan B in place for when Nick ever decided to call it quits. Even IF they sign Suter...they still need another 2 or 3 top notch D-Men that are nowhere to be found. People like Kindl, Ericsson, & Quincey sure as hell aren't gonna improve any to get the job done...ugh...and people thought our D-Core looked awful last year?...just wait.

We make the same mistakes...game...after game...after game...after game....and nothing is ever changed or done about it. We start off slow...we take too many stupid penalties...we leave guys wide open...we give up too many scoring opportunities....you'd think after about 2 seasons of doing this the Coaches would catch on and adjust as needed. But I guess that's asking too much....

Anybody else tired of seeing our 5 guys in our D-zone all clumped up together watching the other team just skate all around them while they watch??? Ugh...never changes...

Well I know we don't help our cause by giving them 6 power plays over 2 periods. I just wish for once I'd see a sense of urgency and/ord hunger or drive from this team...and not wait until the last 3 minutes to start playing. Man...this team the past few seasons can be frustrating as all hell...

I guess you don't know too much about Nashville then...they live to do ANYTHING better then the Wings...I assure you they will be 100 times more geared up for this series then we will, we are "The Bar" so to speak as to where they wanna be..and keep in mind they are starting at home in front of their fans who feel the same way..Nobody is gonna "school" anybody in this series. Heck, they are more then thrilled just to finally finish ahead of the Wings for the first time ever, it's a big deal to them. It all depends which Wings team shows up that will decide the series...if its the team that was playing as hard during the home record streak then I like our chances...if its the team thats been around since after the streak thinking they can just flip a switch whenever they want to start playing, then it will be a short series for us.

This might sound crazy...but I'm fine with us losing and the Hawks winning...let them have the 5 seed and be in a dogfight with the Preds...I'll gladly take the 6 seed and play Dallas, Phx, or whomever from that division. I think not having home ice would finally wake the team up once they are healthy...if ever!

This is why it's sad that for our D...nobody other than our 40 year old Captain knows how to play actual Defense....thanks again Kenny!

Not a great feeling about this one going into it, especially with so many key people banged up. Just get it to OT boys and I'll be happy to steal a point out of it all...Go Wings!!!

I just find it sad that minus 2 of our better players (Datsyuk and Nick), that with all the experience we have on this team...everybody else seems like they don't have the first clue on what to do without them...I mean...really?? Are they that incapable of doing things themselves and stepping up their play? It's bad enough that nobody other than Pavel can bring the puck into the zone on a power play to get things set up. All the mistakes we saw today are prime examples on why Ken Holland needed to do something to improve this team before the deadline..and in a rare event...he failed us in doing so.

This team isn't one to learn from past mistakes...they seem to enjoy making them over and over again for some reason...they can't play for only 1 period and expect 2 points..especially when every point up until playoffs are huge points!

Anybody else frustrated that this team has yet to learn how to NOT look so disinterested in playing teams with a lot worse records than them???

It's games like this where I wish we had a capable backup goalie...how long has it been since we've had one?? This way we don't have to do what the Sharks did to Nabakov for years...ride him 60+ games and then have nothing left in the tank for the playoffs. Still upset they haven't let Joey McDonald go yet...hopefully soon along with Conklin. Oh well..a point is a point.
