The only way I personally would like to see Ozzie as the starter is if Howard is his back up and gets a hell of lot more starts than Ozzie did this year. BTW Ozzie should have started more, it is hard to argue with a team winning the conference but if hasek had got hurt I would not have felt save with Ozzie in there simply due to lack of ice time he would have needed 2 weeks to get into game shape.

Great point, however I worry that the wings will become like the Yankees in the fact that once a top tier guy gets hurt they have given up all their young talent and their is no one left to fill the void that has any real talent. Also when the wings let Ozzie go they were trading away what appeared to be a goalie on his downside for one of the hottest commodities in the NHL, not a great goalie, but Dom!!! I also think that the salary cap will put a speed bump in the way of that theory, teams can no longer afford to just go around getting all of the talented UFA's and abandon their youth. This year as a case in point the team looked to young guys in the time of need and even used them regularly, Guys like Lebda, Quincey, Kronwall (I understand that with his talent you can't overlook him), Franzen, Filpula, and so on. I think the league changes have made it essential to build some talent from within. Again I am debating this issue not arguing!!

So you say every time he plays with the big club he sucks, well in 4 starts these are his stats 1 w 2 L 0 otl 10 ga 2.99 gaa 104 sog 94 sav .904 sv% While I agree those are not stellar numbers I would hardly say that he sucks, and as with the argument for every player in the league, he would get better with more ice time.

The Howard isn't ready statement is an interesting one, and one I would like to debate it. NOT ARGUE DEBATE!!! How do we really know that Howard isn't ready, unless the person who says that is some how in the know. Then there is the conundrum of how does he get ready to play in the NHL if he is always in the AHL. It is like interviewing for a job and they say well you don't have any experience so we went with some one else. Well how do I get experience if you need experience for a job. Now statistically Howard has been one of the best Goalies in the AHL for the past 2 seasons. When drafted the scouts said he was one of the most NHL ready goalies over the past couple of years. And I agree with fact that with the D being so strong and the goalie facing limited shots that this is the perfect time to bring him up. I would love to see him and Liv be the starting tandem next year. Let them fight it out. And let the other back up. That may be a bad idea, the team would probably want a Vet back up like Ozzie. However if the wings do resign Dom they need to let go of Ozzie and let Howard or Liv back him up and get as many starts as possible. As you can see I am a little Howard bias, being from maine and rooting for the UMaine Black Bears. If Jimmy is going to be the future the team will have to make the decision to downgrade in net for a year or two, and hope that the team in front of him is strong enough to carry them. How many non-NHL ready goalies have carried their team to the post season and some deep into the post season in the recent years. I as well have a ton of respect for what Hasek has done for this team, however it is time to move on, in my opinion.

OK So the announcer on VS just said that they are going after him because he is annoying. So you take a run at a guy and try to end his season with a dirty hit, yeah Mike Emeric that makes a ton of sense. Why are people defending those two. If it was Bertuzzi and Quincey would they still be talking about it this way.

The wings haven't had a chance to retaliate yet, mainly because they have been on the power play too much. They were just absolutely toying with them out their. Revenge will come, maybe not tonight, but soon, Pronger should hope that he gets suspended other wise Kopecky or Franzen should clean his clock and then stand over him and curse him out for the ***** piece of s*** ***** he is. He was saying that it was just part of their physical style of play and that is how pronger plays. Then he said he was seeing an angry pronger on the ice and that the red wings should keep their heads up and defend themselves. Engblom made a comment about watch out for the stick. That is more reason to suspend him, now the red wings players can't skate and play they have to worry about losing a limb to this stick weilding ****** bag.

If I see one Duck fan on here try to justify why either of those two deserve to play the rest of the playoffs, they are a troll and I will automatically ignore them. In the interview on VS after the game Nick seemed to laugh about it as though it was just a routine play made by a routine defenseman. That is what makes him the best in the league, he believes that what he is doing is what every other D-man in the league should be doing. Oddly enough a very similar way the wings last captain, he went out there and did what he thought he was supposed to do. I don't think that the Norris trophy is a big deal to Nick, I mean yeah I am sure he thinks it is a great honor, but I doubt that he even thinks about winning it before or during the season. If you guys watched the game on VS did any of you notice how Engbloom can not say Nick Lidstrom, he always say Lick, then corrects himself. WEIRD! Great hustle and effort by LIDS and even if that shot was going wide he forced that shot wide by being Nick Lidstrom (getting into Griers head) and out and out hustle. For the D Lids, What more can I say Chelli great night Markov, yet another night where you really don't notice him because he is playing great hockey. Lilja, Stepping up big Lebda, The ankle looked healthy Quincey. for not screwing up in the D zone too much. The D is playing well considering who they just lost, to most teams losing a Matt Schneider type player would decimate their Defense.
