Well....if what I just saw is right, according to capgeek...Abs is signed for the 09/10 season RFA in 10/11 for $850,000 w/ bonuses included in cap hit.... http://www.capgeek.com/charts.php?Team=15 Yesterday it was 19 signed w/ 4 open and now it's 20 w/ 3..... but I haven't seen any articles regarding it... But I'm happy about it! I like him, and I think it's time for him to have a roster sopt.

Kenny should save our cap space until the trade deadline

Oh snap! Unless you have a name like HudlerFanatic.... Sammy is gone.....so we have Leino & Hudler right w/ a defensemen to still be traded most likely correct? And Hudler going to arbitration.....sooooooo......I can't wait to see the outcome! There will be so much money that will come into play in the 10/11 season, so I predict there will be a 2-3 year term deal with a slight raise for Hudler this year and more for the 10/11 & 11/12 seasons.....or they will do that for Leino's 2 yr deal and give Hudler more of a raise this year......one or the other...there are more options now that Sammy is for sure out of the equation....... -
LMAO.... Good call! An extra $0.5Mil for that!

http://www.blueseatblogs.com/2009/06/09/rf...ch-jiri-hudler/ partial quote taken from a Ranger's fan blogsite- ".........Should the Wings decide to go with Hossa, then that probably leaves them looking to deal Hudler. Hudler is due for a raise on his $1.105 million salary (and $1.015 million cap hit). With the minimum 10% raise for RFAs, the minimum qualifying offer to Hudler has to be $1.215 million. Obviously, Hudler is worth more than $1.215 million. He put up 23-34-57 for the Wings last season, while doubling his goals and still playing at a +7. Where does 23-34-57, +7 put him in terms of the Rangers? Well… •his 57 points would put him 3rd on the team •his 23 goals put him tied for first with Zherdev (Naslund retired, so his top mark of 24 goals isn’t included here) •his 34 assists put him tied for 3rd on the team with Drury •his +7 also puts him tied for tops on the team with Cally •his 22 assists on the powerplay put him in first on the team by a very wide margin Basically, at 24, Hudler would be a top scorer on the team. He would also provide much needed bang-for-the-buck, as he will definitely improve upon those numbers. ......." Why would Detroit want to get rid of a player that they could keep under $3MIL (helping the cap problem) that would be a #3 Player (stat wise) on another team....Granted the Rangers aren't the all mighty hockey team but those players for the Ranger's that Hudler is being compared to are making a heck of a lot more than Hudler probably ever will.....and that's ok. But why are so many here ready to get rid of him when he can keep up with other "key players" for other teams. It's nice to see fans from another team find a reasoning of why they would WANT Hudler on their team......all the more reason I would love to see Hudler stay. And if the RFA Compensation scale is correct that has been seen on th HFBoards.......................... http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=656474 I don't think any team will offer the $3 MIL that (IMO) he deserves, so the best they get is a 2nd rounder....(of next year) ....so then WTF would Holland do THIS year......??? The Wings only have 19 signed players (capgeek) Sign Huds for 2-3 years with no more than say 1st yr - $1.8 (leaving $1.5 for 09/10) then a bump in 10/11 when some of the key players and higher paid players come into their UFA/RFA (or are ready to retire)....or hell just sign Huds for a year at $1.8-$2.0...then use that extra to get somone that some of you want as a "cheap grinder"... ....Next year is going to be a better year cap wise and easier to do some "moving around" if needed. But Huds is not a bad player, he may not be the 2-way player many of you would like to see....but he's proven that he can put up the points and that he can play on the PP and he does have some 100%FO on his stat board..... ........ Put him on the 2nd w/ Fils and Franz and I believe his points wil rise.....

per MLive Snapshots Updates: No news on Samuelsson as the market slows down Posted by George James Malik July 02, 2009 16:27PM After Wednesday's 46-player flurry of signings, only 12 players have either signed with new teams or re-signed with their previous employers, with the biggest signing just hitting the wires as Rob Scuderi joins Hal Gill as a former Pittsburgh Penguin by signing with the Los Angeles Kings. As such, there's no news to be had on Mikael Samuelsson's imminent status as an ex-Red Wing, and it's entirely possible that he may not sign with a team until tomorrow or Saturday as Alexei Kovalev, Alex Tanguay are still out there, and comparable 20-goal, 40-to-60-point players like Ruslan Fedotenko, Mike Comrie, Petr Sykora, Robert Lang, Todd Bertuzzi, Jason Williams, and Ales Kotalik remain on the market. The first three to five days of the free agent period are wildly unpredictable, so Samuelsson could sign in the next half hour...Or he could sign next week.

Maybe this is where it came from: http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/20...ve_without.html Red Wings have depth to overcome loss of star forward Marian Hossa.. by Ansar Khan Thursday July 02, 2009, 1:00 AM ".......They won't be as potent offensively without Hossa and Mikael Samuelsson, who also appears headed elsewhere. But they still have three star forwards -- Pavel Datsyuk, Zetterberg and Franzen -- and some talented supporting players who must compensate for the losses......." But still nothing that says he has signed anywhere.....

Don't expect the Red Wings to make a move today Posted by George James Malik July 01, 2009 17:13PM At present, the bidding for Chris Neil seems to exceed $2 million (update 5:14 PM: 4 years, $2.2 million offer on the table from New York), with TSN reporting that as many as four teams are in the offing, while Ian Laperriere earned a $1.15 million deal from the Philadelphia Flyers, Mike Knuble got $2.8 million per season from the Washington Capitals, and Michael Rupp of all people earned $850,000 from the Pittsburgh Penguins... So I'd expect that Red Wings fans can bid farewell to Neil, Chad LaRose, Sammi Pahlsson (who the Blackhawks still want to sign), and probably John Madden. Despite the sting of losing Marian Hossa, Tomas Kopecky, and Ty Conklin today (as well as the un-signed Chris Chelios, Aaron Downey, and Darren McCarty), I really don't expect the Red Wings to make a move until the free agent market plays itself out over the next 3-5 days--and 25 players have signed as of 5 PM--and as it looks like the Wings want to use their $4 million or so in cap space to re-sign Ville Leino (at a qualifying offer of $875,000), re-sign Jiri Hudler if possible (probably at or around $2 million), and sign a grinding forward, their budget for door #3 is likely $1 million or under. After the Wings finish up their summer signings, they obviously expect Johan Franzen to step up and post a 40-goal, 70-point season, Henrik Zetterberg to rebound with a 40-goal, 85-point season, Valtteri Filppula to step up and graduate to 60-point territory, and Tomas Holmstrom, Kirk Maltby, and Kris Draper (as MLive.com's own Ansar Khan suggests, those players will remain Red Wings, whether you like it or not) to rebound offensively. Nicklas Lidstrom, Brian Rafalski, and Niklas Kronwall will have to keep producing in the 50-point range as well. I'd also like to suggest that Snapshots readers quit taking the high road...You're far too polite regarding Hossa, Kopecky, and Conklin's defections. If you're peeved, let it out now, because Hossa and Conklin's comments about their new teams whenever they do pressers are going to hurt, too.

Take a look at my posts? I commented when I was writing that "the guy that said..." and this person" I wasn't going to go back and find every name..... There were about five different threads that you are the first one to reply to something I say...hince my sarchasim everytime you say something....I was having fun with it..... going back to the "how cute everyone is with Hudler" comments.... BUT NOW....what you've said is too much....that is just uncalled for... and for the other's I wrote it that big because I knew exactly who he was talking to........and I was right, he said it himself..... How would you like someone that you don't know saying crap like that to your wife....it's called sexual harrasment

Hawks GM Dale Tallon claims that signing Red Wings' Hossa makes no dent in team's future plans...And Hossa says he digs Chicago Posted by George James Malik July 01, 2009 17:28PM Chicago Blackhawks GM Dale Tallon made a curious comment about signing Marian Hossa to a massive 12-year deal at an average cap hit of $5.2 million per season, as The Sporting News's Craig Custance (via Kukla's Korner) noted: July 1, Craig Custance's Twitter account: "This deal did not affect our core moving forward, that was appealing to us." If not affecting the fact that Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, and Duncan Keith will all qualify for big-money deals next season, sure. Update 5:34 PM: Here's Custance's full report: July 1, The Sporting News: Chicago GM Dale Tallon just addressed the media in Chicago about the Marian Hossa signing. And despite what we've all speculated, that Hossa's deal might complicate things in the future regarding signing Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews and Duncan Keith to long-term deals, Tallon said it's a non-issue. He said one of the benefits of agreeing to the long-term deal with Hossa was that the annual cap number is reasonable enough (just over $5 million) to take care of the players he's identified as Chicago's core. "The type of contract that Marian has agreed to do will not influence our core," Tallon said. "Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane and Duncan Keith and whoever we deem is the core... this deal did not affect our core moving forward." After briefly pursuing Hossa during free agency last year, Tallon said the Blackhawks' success this year made him a realistic target. Hossa was impressed with the Winter Classic, the city and sellout crowds. And Chicago's ability to win in the future. Now, Tallon said, Hossa's looking forward to being a leader on a young team. And one added bonus - Talon just raided Chicago's biggest rival, signing the leading goal-scorer away from the Red Wings. "Never thought of that," Tallon said smiling.

You know after all the damn "Hudler Love" comments you throw out there...it almost seems like you are bitter towards those that see a hockey player in the guy. I highly doubt someone that had 57 points last year, that is 25yrs old would be the Wing's "demise"...I've been replying to threads w/ out even saying the dude's name for the simple fact that I get reemed for it every time......I give credit where credit is due......it's almost like you have your own "short-man" syndrome and are mad because you couldn't be the hockey player he is now back in your day......Huge raise?! I think a lot of people are in agreement that he deserves something....and that he is worth more then he will get from Holland, but we are trying to be realistic.....unlike you....HAVLAT IS TOO MUCH MONEY -- seriously---$3.4 MIL CAP SPACE that's it! Sometimes sarchasim, (if that's what it is you are doing) has no place on days like these.... and for your info......Neil has a $2.2 offer on the table...so there...if you'd keep up and reserach instead of Hudler bashing and insulting, maybe you'd know that.
-
Phalsson-Chicago still wanting to sign Neil-reportedly has $2.2M offer on table from NY.... Just posted a new thread regarding these players from MLive snapshots reporting from TSN
-
If they are both signed, say, for what they are making now....(doubtful) that is only roughly $1.9M towards the $3.2 leaving $1.4M.....so even IF Leino was signed for $1M & Hudler for $1.8M that leaves still $1.8 left to play around with....right? If either Leino or Huds gets a short length contract 2-3 years....this year may be a lower pay (then mentioned above) and raise in 10/11 after seeing woh of the 10/11 UFA & RFA leave or don't leave, trade, etc...... (of roster players) Holmstrom $2,250,000 Maltby $883,333 Helm-RFA- $599,444 Lidstrom $7,450,000 Lilja $1,250,000 Lebda $650,000 Meech-RFA -$483,333 In 10/11 that will be approximately $13.5M dollars that those players are being payed for the 09/10 season....... (now I know not all these players will leave...I'm just stating it for "cap expenses") Plus there is still the one defensmen that is supposed to be traded later on..... Holland has something in the works....just what it is....I don't think any of us could figure it out before it's stated in black and white. But yes, he know what he is doing......I'm keepin' the faith in him....

MLive Blog Snapshots: TSN's McGuire: Ville Leino stayed with the Red Wings despite offers to play in Russia Posted by George James Malik July 01, 2009 15:45PM The TSN crew, who you can watch on NHL.com between now and 6 PM, rambled a bit about the Red Wings in light of the Chicago Blackhawks' signing of Marian Hossa, and Pierre McGuire stated that Ville Leino received several enticing offers to play in Russia's Kontinental Hockey League last year, but he chose to stay with the Grand Rapids Griffins, and will parlay that loyalty into a spot with the Red Wings this upcoming season. If this is true doesn't that leave a little more money for Holland to play with....I'm not "schooled" yet on how the non-roster spot players affect the cap just yet.....but Im getting there....so I am open to "teachings" from any of you out there... NM...I just re-read it, and saw that was last year...but I am still open for someone telling me how the guys in Grand Rapids pay affects the cap...Thanks!

TSN reporting Colton Orr has agreed to a 4 year deal with the Leafs. kovalev extension in Mtl isnt done yet. some say it is. his agent says it isn't. Hossa is close to signing in Chicago... Ohlund will get 22.5 of the 24.5 in the next 5 years. Roloson is testing the market. Oilers need a starting goalie. TSN is reporting 5 years, $6.1 mil average. Sedins have agreed to 5 year extension and will stay with the Canucks. Between the Sedins and Heatley...no shortage of hockey drama this morning. Stick with who you can trust. Heatley has no declined to waive his no-move to go to the Oilers. He's sleeping on it and Ottawa may have other options. Bouwmeester has agreed to a 5 year deal with Calgary. Details on www.tsn.ca

http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=283338 Sources say Chris Neil turned down the Ottawa Senators' offer of $1.7-million per year and will likely go to free agency unless there are further developments tonight. Neil, 30, tied a career-low with ten points and set a career-low with a minus-13 in 60 games last season. The 6-foot-1, 214-pound right winger can still mix it up, however, getting in 14 fights last season; his highest total since 2002-2003.
