Lidstrom for life reacted to egroen in Swedish star - Carl Hagelin sign with the Wings?
Rangers fans are thinking Hagelin has a good shot on their 4th line next year - think the snippet is BS.

Lidstrom for life reacted to thegerkin in Goals Scored During Final Minutes Of The Period
I know many people have wondered how many goals the Red Wings have given up during the final 2:00 minutes of a period. I was a bit bored, so I broke down the statistics. I charted the goals scored for and against during the final 2:00 minutes of a period during regulation (last 1:00 minute of OT). The stats are pretty close, for and against.
Enjoy!

Lidstrom for life reacted to BigWillieStyle in Wings-Sharks game might be postponed tonight
Sharks forgot to pay the damn electric bill again. Maybe they should play on the ice outside the arena.

Lidstrom for life reacted to Drake_Marcus in Tomas Tatar
He was drafted in 2009 with an A or A+ in pure talent, an A- in skating, a D in pedigree/background and an F in 'knowing how to be a professional hockey player' (which I'd give virtually every draft pick).
It shouldn't surprise you that at the age of 19 he had some struggles with being a consistent professional hockey player. No one from his (Red Wing) draft class is even playing pro hockey right now.
Tomas Tatar has shown flashes of brilliance during the World Juniors, the Prospects Tournament, training camp and even in the AHL.
Tonight's fricking amazing, though.
I was about to make a post about the game he's having when I noticed Aussie beat me to it.

Lidstrom for life reacted to drwscc in All-Star Game format change being considered
I liked the idea that several folks have brought up in the comments. Have all the selected players throw their sticks in a pile, and either have the captains take turns picking a stick, or just have like Bettman go to the pile and throw them either way. Would be a cool way to pick the teams, getting back to the shinny roots.

Lidstrom for life reacted to Matt in Florida marketing to Montreal Canadiens fans?
We had a large contingent of Wings fans from here that got a group rate to see the Wings in Florida two years ago. I've been in touch with the Panthers' ticket office this season and we'll be getting another discount for the game in February this season. I'll be posting something up soon.

Lidstrom for life reacted to Matt in October Schedule Wallpaper Now Available!
Time for a new season, time for the new edition of LetsGoWings.com's schedule desktop wallpapers!
I'm still eye deep in development on the new LGW web site (getting close now!), but I wanted to make sure these weren't held up. Keep in mind that the new site will have an all-new file download system and once it's live the links to the different resolution wallpapers will be broken on the forums until I can fix it. Most, if not all, of you will have it already downloaded by then, anyway.
This month's featured player is Nicklas Lidstrom. I've also added additional screen resolutions this season, and I'm planning on also offering more once the main site is back up (think: HDTV formats, iPad, etc.).
Enjoy!
Widescreen: 1920x1200 | 1680x1050 | 1440x900 | 1280x800

Lidstrom for life reacted to Matt in October Schedule Wallpaper Now Available!
It is. An underlying theme with these and the site's look is current and past Wings. So, in future versions, expect to see Yzerman, Sawchuk, Howe, Lindsay, Abel, et al in addition to current Wings. They'll always be 1+1 (so, as an example, Yzerman will highly likely be present on a Zetterberg one, Howard with Sawchuk, etc.).

Lidstrom for life reacted to Wings_Toledo in First Impressions
I agree with most of your points except for the 4th line. They did their job and kept the puck in the offensive zone for the majority of the time they were out. No one expects them to score in every game, so they'll get their chances eventually. But yeah, I'm feeling really good about this team. Cleary just looked so much faster and you can tell he's out to prove himself.

Lidstrom for life reacted to Datsyerberger in Maltby and Meech waived
Well Malts scored 50 in the juniors, let's give him a try in the AHL and see if he can carry that goalsoring to the pro level.

Lidstrom for life reacted to Heroes of Hockeytown in Valtteri Filppula appreciation
I haven't had the opportunity to watch every preseason game, but from what I've seen Flip and Rafalski have far and away been the Wings' best players thus far. Flip is using his speed to great effect and actually shooting the puck, high and hard. Franzen and Bertuzzi to this point appear to just be tagging along; I can forgive Mule for being a little slow after the injury and Bert is probably just being Bert, though.
