Both teams are already better than the Islanders.

Did blueadams get a new account?
Anyhow, my preference for lines is not different from what many others want:
PK 1 & 3
Lidstrom for life reacted to chrisdetroit in Small rule change confirmed
Agreed but if they won't eliminate the SO they should use a 3 point system.
Regulation Win = 3 points
Shootout or OT Win = 2 points
Shootout or OT Loss = 1 point
Regulation Loss = 0 points
As it is now a SO win is as good as a regulation win. That makes no sense whatsoever.
Lidstrom for life reacted to McAwesome in In Depth Look at the Central Division
Agreed. Lebda may be younger, but that's the only advantage he has. About the only thing Lebda does better than Salei is suck. Also, he says Salei has a Stanley Cup ring, when did he win that? In 2003 with Anaheim? I'm pretty sure that's the only time he's sniffed the Finals.
Lidstrom for life reacted in Penguins sign Arron Asham
I am totally with you, Holland and the Wings are desperate for 4th liner players; they don't have enough and need to sign about 30 more.
Babcock could have a killer 4th line of Asham-Helm-Abdelkader-Draper-Miller-Ritola-Eaves! Holland screwed up, he could have the biggest and baddest 4th line in the league. Problem is though, would the refs let the Wings ice 9 players on the same line? That could be tricky, but I'm sure it can be done.
Or maybe Wings should, instead of icing 2nd line talent on the 3rd line, waive Hudler, Cleary and Modano so Babcock can ice two 4th lines.

Lidstrom for life reacted to Buppy in Penguins sign Arron Asham
I think it's more a case of us having enough (too many even) 4th liners already. We DO prioritize skill over everything else, but we also usually keep a spot reserved for a tough guy. This year, all those spots were filled already.
Nothing to get upset about. We have a solid 4th line, maybe one of the best in the league. Asham wouldn't have made us any better.

My mother was in the kitchen getting food for a houseful of relatives the night of my dad's funeral, and she still dropped everything to run into the living room when I told her that Hossa was fighting. She had to explain to all of the knitting ladies in the living room that she doesn't like it when they fight, and she was just making sure Hossa was ok - and then went on to tell them all about him.
I'm trying to get her to understand the importance of fighting, but as you can see, she loves the Wings. She also thinks Mickey Redmond "looks like a very nice man". Uh-huh.
My last hamster was a big Danny Cleary fan. I haven't gotten the current one excited about hockey yet.

One of my ex's used to call peroids innings.
My fiance is finally warming up to hockey. She know's all the current Wings names/numbers and has a pretty good understanding of the basic rules, but only really gets excited during the playoffs.
Our wedding is this October and I bought her an Abdelkader jersey as a welcome to the family gift - plus I asked the reverand to sneek "during the NHL regular season and in playoffs". - TRUE
EDIT: She also named our dog Raffi

How appropriate that today of all days is when I finally crack. Its been months since I've last witnessed professional hockey, and it was a bittersweet moment when I observed an anticlimactic ending between two of my most hated opponents. It was an exciting series, but my heart had died in round two with the Wings. And that marked the beginning.
I thought my rations of beer-leagues and you-tube videos were large enough to get me through the desolate summer months, but disaster stuck. I was so foolish not to think ahead. How did I not realize that three weekend camping trips were planned all overlapping my beer-league games? I've gone close to a month without playing a game, and now its taken all my effort to keep from collecting the ice from the fridge just to feel its cool touch.
I can only wonder about my beer-league companions. We lost contact after my first expedition. I don't even know if they're alive anymore, or what condition their ration stockpile was in. I don't know if I will be alive either, come our next game this Saturday night. The youtube videos and hockey stories have all been used up. I've survived this long on drawing up elaborate hockey plays on a pile of post-it notes at my employment shelter, but how many plays are left to discover?? There's nothing left of any substance to feed me. I pray to the hockey gods for the strength to endue this unholy heatwave for just another 48 hours. That's all I need.
I rest my remaining hopes in this note that someone, anybody can find me and share their rations with me, but my body believes it to be too late. I'm withering away, starved to the bone. To whomever may find this: tell my family I love them, should I not make it to Saturday. Godspeed.
Lidstrom for life reacted in Was it a good decision to sign Zetterberg
Just been reading some stuff boaring offseason and its come to me that is having zetterbeg locked up tell 40 at such a high salary a god thing? i could be going crazy I dunno but it seems like this hurts the futcher. I mean having a 40 year old with a cap hit of around six million. Dont you guys think our team will be pretty bad with guys like Franzen and Zetterberg at a high cap hit around age 40.
