Not to say I don't believe Jurco will turn out but... when I have interviews and assessments at work I often say I have an enormous work ethic and always work as hard as I can. It makes me look good and is pretty low risk in saying that stuff. Then work rolls around and I work really hard sometimes and sometimes I have a headache and may as well be unconscious or at home playing video games or something.

TBH I think Eberle's goal was quite a bit like Datysuk's famous goal on Turco. Eberle didn't look as surreal (that instant that Pav moves in a direction he seemingly shouldn't be able to is just sickening still) but it was scored at a great pace. I think Pav's goal against Nashville early this season where was stapled to the boards by Klein or whoever and he kinda rubs him off and goes to the net was my favourite this season.

Am I the only one that thought for the dollar value Miller was excellent? I just felt he was never a liability or a slacker on the ice. Doesn't have a shot like Eaves but I seem to remember Eaves getting lazy here and there.

That 09 series against the Ducks was for lack of a less over-used term 'intense'. 96 vs St Louis was of course awesome as well.

Honestly for whatever reason when I made that segment I had full intention of adding those clips but because I was forced to use youtube clips and not the CBC database I had to rely on shoddy extraction software that f***ed with the clips when I used it. Instead I had to use the NBC audio of the Havsplat hit (Doc wigged out when that hit happened) and Umberger's expression on the ice as it was a salvageable bit. I feel bad now...

I make half the musical intros for HNIC. I definitely don't think there is a bias towards Canadian teams. It's just that a majority of teams playing on any given Hockey Night In Canada are Canadian and we generally try to include clips featuring the competing teams. My producer (MacLean) does all the narrative.

I feel that Ericsson is a lot like Komisarek. Both of these guys are big and capable of pulling pucks out of corners when going at it with even the toughest forwards in the league. Yet as soon as they have some free ice and the puck on their stick, they throw it up the middle of the ice... which we all learned in peewee was the dumbest move ever. I guess the real difference between Komi and E is that Komisarek is a former all-star and is paid wayyyyy too much. Lebda plays more minutes than Komi on nights when they both skate.

Kaberle and Bieksa may combine to produce the points Lidstrom will take with him, but who is going to stop the other team from scoring when that pairing is out there?
