I would argue that incompetent commissioners should not try to expand a game played on ice into a place surrounded by sand. Selling hockey in the desert is not unlike selling bikini's and air conditioners to an Eskimo, meaning it is a tough sell. A proven CEO (ei, one whose company has not declared bankruptcy and begged for government scraps) with an idea to relocate them into a market where an NHL franchise would be a license to print money makes sense to me. Sort of like a waitress trying to convince 2 people at a table to buy a beer when you have 5 booths of college guys screaming for pitchers. Make your money already. I like Winnipeg but like Quebec City they just don't have the surrounding population or the corporate support. Southern Ontario is a different story.

Wow, lots of losers whining on this thread, "but but but, it was the refs fault" sob sob sob,,,, shake your heads. You guys got the breaks in games 1 and 2, if not then the series could have been a sweep for the Pens. The only game the wings were truly the better team was game 5. The wings D could not handle the Pens fore check and as a result spent long periods of time chasing the Pens in their own zone which not only created scoring chances for the Pens, but also wore down the wings, that was the difference. That and the fact that the Pens have more depth.

The first goal is going to be huge.

Yeah it sounds like a lot of bandwagoners, if the Pens win this one it is a best 2 of 3 with the potential deciding game in Detroit. That being said a longer series favors the Pens legs IMO. Staal's shorty turned that period around. Sid may have awaken. Lots of time left.

No argument there, Wings and Devils bread and butter. But certainly not exciting when they get the lead or are on the road. I think they need to work on limiting turnovers, they are both decent defensively and will get better as they get older, the 1st goal I would blame Orpik more than Sid, Orpik was out at the blueline instead of in front of the net, but Sid could have picked up Zets.

It's just you, Well the bounces we more even during that game. The wings really owned the 2nd, really dulled the game down actually, I guess a good road strategy, but the Pens owned the 3rd. For all of the wings talent they really play a boring style, likely why they can't fill their building in "hockeytown" despite having a consistent winning team. The hawks would have been a better opponent from an entertainment and ratings perspective. The wings play much better with the lead than they do from behind. Ozzie let in a suspect goal from Tanger. I have an Yzerman jersey, I am not here to call names, although I think Dats value goes down in the playoffs, he is good defensively, but lady byng winners sometimes fold when the going gets tough and he has a history, no shootouts in the playoffs either. I think the 5 unit shadow on Sid has been a good strategy for the wings and it is clear that babs put together a nice game plan, but at the same time they are fortunate they haven't been scored against. The next 2 games Sid will get away from them more. But on the other hand Sid drawing Zets, Lids and Franzen, takes away the wings offense too. I'll take a draw there. But Billy G and Sid are eventually going to start hitting the back of the net instead of the post. Zets is going to get caught with his hand in the cookie jar if he keeps covering the puck in the crease. Geno is a key for us, he has to carry the play against Hossa's line. Although Geno has scored he is a minus. We need him to be better defensively. If it was up to me I would have brought Sykora back into the line up instead of Dupuis and put him on the 2nd line tonight for more offense. I think we should have stacked the 2nd line if the wings best players go against Sid's line. Staal's line has had good pressure against the wings 3rd line, no goals though. Watching Helm skate against Gill is like watching a corvette race against an old tractor. That applicator/alligator kid has a couple weird knuckle ball goals. He must be on cloud nine. One thing that kid and helm have in common is that they are both young and up and coming red wings, and they are the same age as geno and a year older than Sid. That is why Sid and Geno are not overrated. The games could have easily went the other way. One or both, the wings have both, congrats, but count your blessings and don't say that the other team sucks when you are getting the bounces.
