The Race for Eight: Blue Jackets, Stars, Wings
legaleaglewingsfan replied to bardownginos's topic in General
No I think it needs to be 4/23 Go Kings Go Sharks 4/24 Go Wings 4/25 Go Wings Go Blue jackets 4/26 Go Edmonton 4/27 Go Wings Go Avs Go Preds We get 7th, CBJ (from Ohio and like their chances of beating on Chi as they have all season with a maybe upset) at 8th. We may get a round or two. Under this scenario I see (read as wish on shooting stars last night) Round 1 West Only 1. Chicago beat by CBJ in 6 2. Anaheim beat by Det in 6 3. Vancouver beats Stl in 7 4. Los Angeles beat by SJ in 6 Round 2 Van beats CBJ in 7 SJ beat by Det in 6 Round 3 Van beat by Det in 6 SCF Det beats the ever loving snot, pee, and any other bodily substance imaginable out of Pitt in 4 with TooToo administering the Coupe D'Grace on #87 as Bettman stands helplessly by. And while Datsuyk is handed the Conn Smythe he hands it immediately to TooToo for his heroics as McCarty beams from behind the Det bench. Also Bert gets his first skate with the Cup. So shall it be written, so shall it be done. -
Because of this and this and of course this

1/21: Red Wings 4 at Blue Jackets 3 (SO)
legaleaglewingsfan replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Might be the last time we ever have back to back home openers. Expecting to see a LOT of Red tonight at Nationwide. Its going to be intense and hopefully that @sskicking last game reminded the guys the lockout is over. LGW -
That would be rather interesting. What would you do if you were the CBJ with the top 2 picks? Do you go for Nail and Galchenuyk since they have chemistry and like playing together? Or do you scoop up Grigorenko? Go after a defenseman? Or is there a quality goalie to be had for trade with one of those picks?

As someone who wishes the best for CBJ if it doesnt come at the expense of the Wings I think that this was something that the fans needed. Nash is more than likely (assuming that this winning doesnt maintain itself until the end of the season) out come July, and Johnson was supposedly enthusiastic when he spoke to Howson for the first time, he was on the radio the other day and said he loved the atmosphere of positivity that was in the dressing room. He could very well be the new face of the Jackets. I personally would love to see Nash get swung to us in the offseason if the price is right, but if he isn't I hope he stays because I think that Johnson could be the shot of positive energy that the city needs. Add in Johansen who could be a good player in another year or so, the first that they have coming, and if they can either re-focus Mason's mind or get a centerpiece goalie I think they have a chance to be decent and improve. Losing some of the higher-ups would help too and this team could be the next Pitt, Chi, etc. Lose, get can't miss firsts, stock up, and make us madder than hell when their fans come jumping on the newly built bandwagon. Of course on the other hand I'm fine with them continuing to stink as long as they stay in Columbus, it means 3 times a year I get to see the Wings with good seats on the cheap.

Hey all, I have a buddy who does some work for the Jackets and he scored me two tickets for 3/28. Not too bad of seats Sec 105 Row M (Wings warmup and shoot in area once) and my usual Wings fan tag a long cannot make it. So not wanting to give up the ticket to a jackets fan I am offering it up to LGW nation. Because there may be more than one person interested I am looking at two things 1. why should I pick you and 2. for your greatest Red Wings Experience. Whether its meeting a current/past Wing, being present at a memorable game, or just watching a game on TV (think Vladdy with the cup, the first "Fight Night", etc. Send them in PM to me and I will accept em until Friday and will let the winner know where to meet me for the game on 3/28. Sorry if this is in wrong area Mods *holds hand out to be slapped if necessary*

1/19 GDT : Red Wings 3 at Coyotes 2 (SO)

Not sure that all this over confidence might not be putting some bad karma or ju-ju in the air. I hope the Wings come out tonight and play hard for 60 and then follow that up with another hard 60 against the CBJ to get these 4 pts. -

12/13 GDT : Red Wings 4 at Penguins 1

Due to the NHLN not televising this game (due to lack of Golden Boy) it appears that the wife and I will be huddled around my computer at the office in our rivaling jerseys and that rather than a quiet ride home from her mom's house it will be a cold and quiet walk back from the office. Eh oh well. LGW -
To which Mr. Miller applied a very emphatic and thorough beatdown.

I don't believe I have ever negged before but this post deserved it. Crosby couldnt not carry Nick's jockstrap. PERIOD.
-
If this is Nicky L's last then I would like for him to get selected. Besides if nothing else it gives him a chance to recruit someone to come to the D next year. Cough Weber or Suter Cough. And I too am troubled by Crosby being on the ballot without having played in a year. I understand he was on fire last year when he went down, but head injuries do funny things to people, who is to say he is still the same player he was before he was knocked out.

Was I the only one who if we made it to this game on the losing streak was thinking of tossing a rally :octo: on the ice -
Bertuzzi & Hudler likely to miss tomorrow's game

I recognize I will be negged outta my rear for this, but the same could be said about pretty much the entire roster as of late. including players who usually are untouchable as far as critique goes. -
11/1 GDT: Wild 2 at Red Wings 1 (OT)

Its been 11 days since the Wings played a game so they should come out nice and rested. Let's Go Wings. That is all. -
Who would you pick to have back on this team?
legaleaglewingsfan replied to GongShow94's topic in General
Any of the Production Line, although I think Howe, it meets that gritty "kick your ass" mindset I personally love when the WIngs show it. See also Bert slamming Nash's head into the glass at JLA last Fri night. -
10/25 GDT: Red Wings 1 at Blue Jackets 4

The Wings didn't look good, but it seemed that when Mo seemed to be turning the Refs would either A. Let a dirty play by CBJ go, or B. Call something chincy on the Wings. You must not have been sitting anywhere near where I was. I took my autistic Bro in Law (Jackets fan in Jackets colors) got obscenities yelled at me by a little kid whose parents high fived him, got mocked by Cleetus and Eugene the backwoods hill billies, and there was a couple behind me who had the Winged Wheel on who got showered with beer along with Bro in Law (Try explaining that to the Mother in Law and Wife) and I because the Wings fans and I high fived during Helms goal. And the usher's reaction "*shrug* s*** happens".... All I could do is remind myself that I am blessed to be a member of one of the classier fanbases in the league. When I was in Detroit on Friday everyone around me good naturedly ribbed the Jackets fans in attendance, but were courteous and cordial. Grrrr. Bro in Law had fun aside from getting a hops and barley shower which was the only on a night. -
Reviewing the highlights it sounds like that arena is rocking. Maybe its acoustics, but I know as a hockey fan I am glad to see a team playing in front of a packed house and back in a city where the fans appear about as rabid as they come.

How Do You Feel About The Southeast?
legaleaglewingsfan replied to Detroit # 1 Fan's topic in General
I am torn on this possible move. As someone from North Central Ohio I love having what is essentially a Wings home game three times a year in Columbus which is approx 45 min from where I live, I also appreciate I am spoiled as I am only 3ish hours from JLA and actual home games but still its nice to go to a Wings game and only be out till 11ish at night. I guess the best answer is to make someone else move West and let the Wings red headed step sister CBJ come with us East. Or as other posters have indicated just create two geographical blind conferences with geographical divisions so everyone is traveling to the coasts and so forth. -
10/8 GDT: Red Wings 3 at Avalanche 0
legaleaglewingsfan replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Its rather telling that the Wings avg 18000+ at away games and none of the other teams are over 17800 or so and are limited at home only by the size of the arena seating capacity. -
The only penalty for something like that is the Death Penalty
-
A guy working in the CBJ Tix sales called me as "my personal ticket representative" and was trying to sell me on seats. (I was tempted just to have great seats for the three games a year when the Wings are in town) but I had some fun with him asking if they would give me my money back on nights when the team didn't show up (as was the case for a few games last year) and he just stammered for a second and then reattempted his pitch. I may looking into it next year if I have a client base built up, sounds like with so few people there we can actually talk business I will be taking my Brother in law (Jackets fan) on the 25th where it will be a home game for us Im sure.
-
After work today I may just go home and remove Mr. Crosby from the game and run a season simulation, you know just to see.
-
Are we sure this wasnt a scripted re-enactment of the hit that put Crosby on the DL, I mean the crying and staying down to draw the penalty seems to give it away for me.
