Kronners hit was borderline. The elbow was on the follow through and I can't see if it hit teemu in the face or not. I'll re watch it a few more times but the way I see it is this. The HIT was clean, if the elbow got teemu during the follow through IN THE HEAD then a suspension is in order. This is my opinion and I'm not sure how the official rules wording is on a follow through elbow. As far as the wings getting away with a lot, perhaps the Ducks and Teemu need to revisit our first game against them, perhaps the goonery that took place was noted and the refs wanted to keep things in line. Maybe, just maybe 3(?) fights in one game... one RED WING game got the attention of the refs... or maybe the Ducks are known Goons. I did not see any calls against either team for 2 periods... were the ducks not ahead by 2 goals when the refs put the whistles away? Point is this, STFU about dirty hits and no calls if your team is a bunch of goon mongoloids who only know how to injure other players when down by a goal.

I hated bert last year, while some say he carried the wings for a month the only thing I seen him carry was Dats point total down. With that said I think he fits well with Mule, Dats was to flashy for bert, while mule compliments his style. The whole BFF line works and from what I can see Bert is looking good. But we are only 3 games into the season so Bert has plenty of time to regain my hatred of him... but I hope he doesn't.

Malts, Mac, Stevie Y, Fedorov ( dont flame me, you know you love him too), Lids, Draper... these are the Red Wings I grew up watching. Thanks for the great run with us Malts, you did a hell of a good job.

If the defensive match ups were swapped ZDH would run over the other teams second D parings. I understand your point 100%, was just saying a good year from BFF would not indicate a bad year from ZDH.

The BFF line is better than the ZDH line is some areas already. Its a more north south line than ZDH. Bert and mule are two big guys and the goals from that line will be gritter than ZDH line. with that said Z and Dats are gonna score more exciting goals than the BFF line.... IMHO I'm just thankful that it is even possible to debate this topic... it means we have two really good top lines. As for the ZDH line having a "bad year" if BFF compete for 1st squad, thats hogwash. Mule is arguably the biggest goal scorer on our team with talks of him being our next 50 goal guy, that line has tons of talent and potential and it would not be a bad year by ZDH to lose 1st squad to BFF - but a good year from BFF's line.

Well it was my exaggeration you're talking about " crosby 2.0" and the point is simple... ritola does not matter, in fact miller does not matter, all that matters is that the real franchise players ARE in GR and will be coming up in a few years... in the mean time all we need is fodder for the 4th till they arrive.

Man, Ritola is not a franchise player. If he was we would have been watching him play between mule and fil instead of bert. People, face it... Ritola is not Crosby 2.0, but reading some of this thread you'd think he was.

Ritola's potential is trash compared to some of our other prospects. We don't need a "Who's to say" player at this point, we need guys who can get it done for a year or two while we bring up the real deal prospects. I just dont see the big deal. If he scores 149 goals and 633 assists next year for TB, guess what... I dont care. its a different system and style... Ritola has had his chance to prove himself with OUR style and he couldn't, so he got waived. The moral of the story is, "I could make a billion dollars this year but will I".. Get it?

Miller gives us MUCH better PKing than ritola. With Huds back we have acquired the lost PP depth and adding Mo will help the PP as well, so we needed to make sure our PK was up to par, with malts and draps in the end of careers we chose a better PKer over potential and Miller is more sound in his defensive aspects than ritola. Its not a big loss.

If Z and dats stay together all year it is a possibility. I say Hank finishes this year with 38-44 goals. I don't think he will hit 50, simply because the wings system does not allow for any 1 player to reach the 50 goal mark anymore. We play defense people, lets not forget what team we are talking about and Z is one of our best shut down forwards.

Meh, no big deal. In the long term we have MUCH better prospects waiting to join the big club.

Wow. Just wow. I just don't understand people. Injury's decimated our squad last year yet we got it together and made it to 5th seed. A healthy roster this year and we squash these nay sayers once again. I love how he refers to losing lebda as a bad thing... then turns around and says getting hud's 60 points back is only a bit of a help. Ummm yeah. Last time I checked lebda wasn't putting up the numbers Hudler can, or producing on the PP like Huds can. A fat 12 year old could do a better defensive job then Lebda. This article was full of fail.
