Franzen is playing awful

we are not playing good out there but Osgood is just awful.

It would be funny if the Avs choke and misses the playoff. 2-0 Ducks over Avs and scoreless between Yotes and Flames. The wild is losing by 3-0 to Hawks. Guess we may not have a chance to win the division

I said we had no chance in the playoff a while ago but I think we have a shot again this season. Every team has a weakeness. San Jose- I do not think SJ would choke as the last season but history is not on their side (although it can change any time) Chicago- Unexperienced goalie, two main D are out. Vancouver- look pretty balanced; Luongo does not look to collapse down but Canucks D always played not to the expectation. Pheonix- No shootout in the playoff and not terrific Offense Nashiville- balanced team but not much experience Detroit- unexperienced goalie, weaker depth than the last season LA- Nearly zero experience, unexperienced goalie Colorado- struglling lately and not having great depth --- Calgary- weak depth on offensive zone and J-Bouwmeester is playing awful. No one can support Iginla. Nystrom is the only player plays to the expectation. I think this season's west is tougher than last two seasons; all 8 teams look pretty strong and do not think any series would be easy to pass. I think Nashville would be the hardest team to play against but at the end, I think it would be one of SJ, Detroit, or Vancouver. Just prediction Well I think the Hawks will win the division still but it really does not matter. As I mentioned previously, the Preds would probably kill any team that they would face. No matter win or lose the series but will be out of gas. Well re-built team this season.

We did not play to the expectation of us but win is a win. Besides, this team has played good defensive game in last 5 or 6 games. I just think the Wings this season struggles a lot against the Oilers and happy that we do not play with them anymore this year. Again, win is a win and let's play better. Go Wings !

More than going to the playoff, the biggest success of this team in the season is let Howard being well-developed. Hopefully he will continue his performance forever

Regardless of how the game went, I am happy we won two consecutive games without rest. Howard was a tank. Good win

Happy to see the Flames lost. I think if we can win tomorrow, our playoff clinch would be coming to real in a quick time; not expecting the Flames would manage two wins in boston and washington.

It is not somewhat getting raged after lose the 3 goal lead game. Since the injureis of this team has significantly harassed the team, I could understand why the Wings could not play any good at the beginning of the season. However, although Kronwall, Ericsson, and others came back from injuries, the Wings showed not a big improvement. This season, our offenses are not producing and defenses are just making turn overs. Howard has not been great lately but considering how he has done so far in this season, I am satisified with him except for his awful rebound control. Now, next tuesday, Franzen is coming back. Some guys look to think as Franzen comes back, the Wings will be flying the sky. I would say these people should re-think of the game. Franzen is not somewhat Ovechkin who can change the whole game. Sure, he can give Babcock more opportunities to make line combos and different stragedies but because he comes back, the Wings are not going to do any big different unless they change their whole game. I hope the return of Franzen will boost this team but I do not see any bright change in the team although he comes back. p.s)Thank you for reading and sry for my terrible English.

I watched the game and it was surely disappointing. To be honest in myself, with this streak and game playing level thorughout the year, I do not think we are going to make the playoff this year and this trend can go for one more year. Although I hate Roenick, I think he made right statement about the future of the Red Wings. Since we locked up Zetterberg and Franzen, we cannot burn the house and rebuild the team. Besides, since we were consisently too good last 20 years, we do not have good potential players to lead the team in the future except for guys like Filppula from MY VIEW. At this point, I think we need to rethink of what is true loyalty. Holland and the organization have done everything for players who have been playing great for the Red Wings. I think Draper, Maltby, and other old guys except for Lidstrom must be gone after the season. Since the issue of age in this team has been on the surface for a long time, I think now is the time to make the team younger. I hope the organiztion still shows loyalty to great players but the organization must not be too kind to players. Some players look lazy and imcompetitible anymore.

The reason Osgood could start in playoff last year was he showed much improvement in last 2 or 3 weeks. He will get chances to prove himself to be between pipes in the playoff. Every year is different and it is retarded to bring back the case happened last year. If Osgood does not really improve, no reason to deny Howard being a playoff starter. Well, let's make the playoff first^^

I agree with you that Osgood has faced tougher teams by the records but since both goalies' save percentage is extremely huge, their performances cannot be explained solely by the teams they faced against. And since no one know's the future, it is hard to tell which team is good and which team is bad. They are all professional players. Although there must be skill gap between bad teams and good teams, it is not huge. Osgood will get a chance to play as the season goes toward the end of the season. The one thing I want to say is this season is not like last season. Although our D was awful last season, our rank was high since offense was great. This season, we do not have much time to test each goalie for playoff. We are in unsafe position to make playoff. I hope Osgood bounces back. Last year, at the end of the season, Osgood showed his improvement. That why we believed Osgood had a chance to return in his form. If that does not occur, Howard may get a chance to start. Last, it is extremely stupid to bring back the histories of Osgood and Wings. The past is the past and the presence is presence. Nearly pointess to compare the past and the present.

It is stupid to list the teams Osgood played against and Howard played against. Because the teams in the lower rank had more losses than the teams in the higher rank, it does not directly mention the entire team sucks or the star players they have suck. It is still the mid of the season. Both Howard and Osgood have faced strong teams and weak teams. And since our core players are injured, Howard has been the savior of this team. Can anyone disagree with this argument? I know Osgood has performed great in playoff during his career; be honest, but, I do not like his attitude at all. If Osgood really show his capability of playing better than Howard, Babcock may choose him over Howard. Babcock is not a dumb guy. By his view, Howard is playing better. As some others say, Osgood is just an unbeatale superman in this board. If he makes a mistake, everyone just defends him. When Howard makes a mistake, everyone just bashes him. Save percetnage and GAA is more important than the number of wins. Comparing the points Howard and Osgood made last few games do not directly judge their abilities thise season.
