  2. The play by most of the Griffins call ups is going to make things very interesting once we get the majority of our players back. If I had to guess, I would say that both Sheahan and Jurco will go back down. What I can't figure out is how you take Glendening out of the lineup (even for say Andersson). After watching the past few games both he (Glendening) and Lashoff have stood out to me. Not because they create great chances or play smart defensive hockey, but because both can be a bit nasty. I think that element more than say a crushing hitter or some big time fighter is what we've been missing most. Both of the those guys do play solid hockey, but they also get under people's skin. Glendening was all over Kane during the Chicago game and was at someone else earlier in the week. And Lashoff, although he may not crush people, can be down right nasty in front of his own net (see the Hossa exchange during the last game). These two guys make us harder to play against, maybe not physically so much but definitely mentally for the other team. I think the wings expected this out of Tootoo, but just got a guy who runs around, tries to put people through the boards and fights occasionally. I think the fact the two guys above are just on top of the other team from the get go pisses them off, especially if they're giving someone a hidden slash or crosscheck. Plus Glendening gives us something we currently don't have, a right-handed centerman.

This move is pretty simple. It's not that Babs has a thing for Glendening. It's that he wants Z and Pav to play together. I bet when the lines come out for tomorrow's game they're both with Bertuzzi and Helm is centering the 2nd line with Abs and Alfie. If you saw the game last night, once Babs put the two of them back together we turned that game around offensively. Glendening just gives him a 4th line center and Jurco doesn't. That simple.
  4. I understand the ruling and agree with the fact that its in place to take the head shots out of the game and that yes Quincey left his feet. However, these types of hits are a result of something much more. The laughable part of Shanahan's explaination is as follows: “Despite Quincey's assertion that he was simply bracing to counter-hit Kopecky, fact of the matter is Kopecky never attempted to throw a hit on this play. In fact, there was nothing in Kopecky's approach that indicated that Quincey needed to defend himself in this manner." Ten years ago any 2 players going for a puck like that would have expected to either hit or be hit, and thus braced themselves for that contact. Heck, even I tell my 7 year old son that when he goes for a puck like that he better be prepared for a hit or some form of contact (even though they're obviously not allowed to do that at his age). Thats the problem with where the game is going. The fact that Kopecky thinks he can play that puck without getting some sort of contact/hit in return is absurd!
  5. After watching the past handful of games, it's really apparent that the injuries we have right now are drastically affecting the way this team was/is put together to play. What I mean is this team is built from the backend out and we need mobile, puck moving defensemen who understand the system and are able to move the puck to the right spots. Currently all 3 of Quincey, Smith and Janik look lost at times out there. Smith has his moments and the future looks bright for him, but he doesn't always make the correct play (rookie learning curve). A lot of people here bash on Ericsson and Kindl, but we really miss them a lot with Nick. For me, Quincey has kind of been a disappointment up to now. I know everyone is looking at the forward lines as the solution, but we really need our defense healthy. That's what drives this team and how it is designed to play. I think we could have added a forward at the deadline and still be in the same situation.
  6. I had posted after game 3 that this one goal San Jose s**t had to turn around at some point. Tonight however completely shocked me! We had no will, no fight, no determination through the first 2 periods. WAY TO GO JIMMY FOR HOLDING US IN THERE!!!! If we can just play the way we did in the 3rd, I think we have a real shot at this series and the cup. We demonstrated that when we want to impose our will on another team, that there is NO ONE BETTER THAN US! Just play that way all the time.
  7. One has to believe that this streak of loosing one goal games to the Sharks is going to turn in our favor at some point. Whether that's the next game or next year or some other time in the future I don't know. But these things have a way of evening out. Look at our run over the past 20 years. In the early 90's we couldn't find a way to win in the playoffs and Colorado got the better of us a couple years in a row. Then the tables turned and we we got the better of them. Look at the 2008 and 2009 Stanley Cup finals. One year we get the better of Pittsburg, the next they get the better of us. This is just how hockey works. All we can really hope for and believe in is that starting in game 4, the Wings start to find ways to win by the slimist of margins instead of being on the other side. And if the Sharks win this thing, we tip our hats to them and put faith in our future. But winning 4 in a row is not impossible (especially when the games are so close). We've already done it once this post season, lets just believe our boys can do it again. GO WINGS!!!
  8. Hey now, I was merely making a suggestion. My real hope is that the program list updates and I can see that the game is on Center Ice channel 773 (per the Directv website and the Center Ice schedule -
  9. For all those who have Directv (outside of Michigan), I saw tonight that the alternate Versus channel (604 I believe) has the Vancouver/Nashville game on while the Caps/Lightning game was on. You might want to try that channel tomorrow (if the game doesn't show up on Center Ice).
  10. Everything that comes out of his mouth is complete BS, things like "let the boys play, this is playoff hockey!" - but only when the yotes are taking liberties on the Wings. However, all you really need to know is that he is wearing a black and red checkered velour suit jacket. Just ridiculous! (and this is in place of his customary white tuxedo).
  11. Stuck watching the FS Arizona feed (due to being a Wings fan in AZ) and the only thing I have to say is that Tyson Nash is a ****** BAG! I don't think I've ever heard a worse color guy. Just PATHETIC! However, I am enjoying the game and am loving that Howard is completely outplaying Bryzgalov right now.
  12. That's the feeling I have too!
  13. Just finished with the game and first off have to say good win! However, after watching last nights Vancouver - Chicago game and our game today it is very apparent that the Wings get S**t called differently. Last night the officals were letting everything go and today it was the exact opposite against us. WHAT A LOAD OF BS!! Hope this doesn't continue but I have a bad feeling it will.
  14. Just looked at the box score for the game. Anyone else realize that Howard made 38 saves tonight? Sure as hell didn't feel that way to me (which speaks to better defense on our part - causing weaker/poorer shots by Tampa). It felt to me like he had a pretty easy night. The 2 goals definitely weren't his fault at all.
  15. Great game by our guys. I thought we were even better today than we were on Friday. Not nearly as many chances for Boston today and I thought we dominated the puck for most of the game. AWESOME JOB!! KEEP IT ROLLING!! COMPLETELY AGREE! He scares the s**t out of me when he's on the ice as of late! Just looks like he is over thinking things and taking too long to make a decision.
