    Conklin signs with the Blues

Well you guys better that Holland has a good backup plan. What if Osgood plays the way in the regular season this year like he did this past year? Conklin did a great job filling in for Fleury 2 years ago, and he killed us whenever we played him. Osgood is no spring chicken. He's 37. All 30 teams have issues that need to be addressed. Though this may not seem like a big deal now. This may turbn into something larger.

    Blowing up the Habs...

Yeah I can't figure out what Gainey is doing. Cam won't have an Iginla type playmaker, Komisarek is gone, Koivu is gone. Huge overpayment for Gionta and Gomez. Carey Price will have his toughest year yet in hockey.

    OFFICIAL: 12y, $62.4m makes Hossa a 'Hawk

Guys! I'm 17. Gonna be 18 in October. I'm not gonna do underaged drinking for one. I really don't think Khabibulin was as bad as everybody thought he was here. Because, he didn't have a team in front of him. I shalt repeat a previous statement: he got good in the second half of 07-08, and we just missed the playoffs. He was getting better. I don't know if I have a favorite Hawk, but I certainly appreciated Khabby here. I stuck up for him plenty more times than I put him down. Best of luck to him in Edmonton.

Well one cup is better than nothing. I'll be going to the Hawks Convention in a couple weeks. And if I see Dale Tallon, I will be professional about it, but I will be sure to ask him the tough questions how he can keep the big 3.

    Versteeg

This is all just messed up.... I've seen one Hawks fan craving for Beauchemin (which obviously did not happen). I really hate to see Versteeg go, and Barker too. I heard that the Hawks would've drafted Barker OVER Ovechkin AND Malkin, as crazy as that would've been. We just need to focus on the big 3. Shopping time is over Dale!

I just don't get it. Why a one year plan? I don't want just one cup (Even that's not guaranteed) and then we suck. I remember Mike North saying if the Blackhawks win just one Stanley Cup in the next ten years, he'd be disappointed. All of a sudden there is this change. I'm just scratching my head over this. I love this team unconditionally, and I don't know what to think anymore.

I think one of the reasons no one took Khabibulin was because he was 35 at the time, and apparently the other 29 GM's thought his best days were behind him. Apparently not. I just don't understand. Maybe Dale lacks common sense, however, why would he sign all these players unless he had a plan?

    Kopecky signs with the Blackhawks

Wings fans, I don't think you need to worry about your offseason. I mean, you did do it without Hossa. BUT, it's not Hossa's fault you lost either. There are no guarantees in sports. Hopefully we'll win it next year, maybe you guys will. Maybe neither the Wings or Hawks will win. The game is played on ice, not paper. But if both of the Hawks and Wings look good on ice like they do on paper, I think both will be top 5 teams next year in the league.

Well, Hossa is not as injury prone as Havlat. Papers are hailing him as an upgrade over Havlat. Havlat is one of the most underrated players in the game, but Hossa is one of the best in the game, period.

Wow. I am appauled at some of the replies that I have seen since I last posted here.... Drugs and Alcohol? How degrading! I have never tried either in my life, and I think it was very unprofessional of you to go there. As for the Hawks, I think we can work something out. The salary cap may go down, but if Tallon isn't worried, why should the fans be? I think he has this all figured out, or else he wouldn't have signed Hossa to the contract that he did. Also, I would not call Khabibulin a bad signing. It's not like he had a team in front of him his first two years. That third year, when we were fighting for the 8th seed, that's when he got good, and carried us on his back until we fell slightly short. Last year, he was brilliant. Not a bad signing whatsoever in my mind.

He wanted a long term deal, but we would only give him one year as a chance to try and resign Kane, Toews, and Keith.

I'm not worried about our cap issues. Not in the slightest. Kane and Toews imo are the most popular duo here in Chicago since dare I say Bobby Hull and Stan Mikita. I was jumping for joy when I heard about Hossa. Though I am a little skeptical, we gave him a 12 year deal because of the cap issues. We take a 5.2 mil hit. The Rangers, however, get a 7.5 mil hit with Gaborik. I'm not going to make any guarantees, but we have a good chance.
