Im from BC and I get to see Rick a lot and he is an OK fighter at best and a HORRIBLE player... he reminds me of Jarko Ruutu...and Mike Brown...just terrible its sad that he is taking up a roster spot instead of Cody Hodgson

I agree! I think Boyle should have been the choice for team Captain...with Thornton and Marleau as Alternates I think making Blake captain is a mistake because he only signed a 1 year contract and might only have 1 or 2 left in him and then the sharks will have to name a new captain anyway...

1.Joey Macdonald was placed on waivers today... 2.Toskala didnt look great in pre-season... 3.Gustavsson looked SENSATIONAL in pre-season... Gustavsson will be the starting goalie for the Leafs around November lock em' up!

pre-season is pre-season, they are never traditionally great in the pre-season anyway....everyone needs to relax and waite until oct. 2nd when the real Red Wings hit the ice...

does anyone have any info on Cloutier? is he even still practicing with the team? and if so, will he get any preseason starts or action of any kind? has he been sent home? any info would be great thanks

The Red Wings have announced nine cuts, including prospects Landon Ferraro, Brent Raedeke, Stephen Johnston, Mitchell Callahan, Andrej Nestrasil and Brian Lashoff. Free-agent tryouts Austin Fyten, Willie Coetzee and Chris Whitley were also sent packing.

Bertuzzi, Datsyuk, Cleary Franzen, Zetterberg, Holmstrom Leino, Filppula, Williams Helm, Draper, Eaves 13th = Maltby/Abdelkader/Emmerton Lidstrom, Raflaski Kronwall, Stuart Ericcsson, Lebda 7th = Meech/Kindl/Delmore/Janik Osgood Howard/Cloutier(depending on what happens there...but I would think it will be Jimmy) so...no more line threads!

i like those lines except i would switch dats and zets beacuse I think dats will have great chem with bert and zets with the mule with be great aswell Bertuzzi, Datsyuk, Cleary Franzen, Zetterberg, Holmstrom Leino, Filppula, Williams Helm, Draper, Eaves we are going to be in good shape this year boys

Im hoping that Ferraro and Tatar show early signs of greatness because I believe they will be rocks for the Wings in a couple years and I am also looking for BIG THINGS from Axelsson and Ryno as they both need to prove that they can handle playing in North America and show that they deserve to be in Grand Rapids. -

why have we had like 10 line combo threads??? all we need is 1 where we can just post what we think they will look like...because we all know that they will never be completely set at any point during the year with Babs in control. He will try everyone with everyone else at some point when some lines start getting cold and/or injuries occur. We have lots of capable centres and Babs will surely try them all at some point or another.

I would absolutely LOVE it if they signed Prospal. That would fill out our roster VERY well I think and would give some mean line combos. Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Cleary Prospal, Filppula, Franzen Eaves, Helm, Leino Maltby, Draper, Holmstrom that looks dam good to me
