Changes in the offseason

i dont reallly understand all the hate for rafalski on these boards. this is a horrible comparison by me and im not gunna claim for one second hes any better then lids but during the regular season he had a slightly better (almost identical) point per game average and he was a plus 11 ... he cant be that bad
2. I think we should match up the Joe Thornton line with Datsyuk's to frustrate the s*** out of Joe who wont be able to keep the puck on his stick. Match Zetterberg/Filppula with the second line and so on. That's just me tho
3. helm is gunna do exactly what he did to jovanovski to some member of the sharks defence and make him completely useless. thus making a s***ty defensive squad s***tier.

Bright Spots

Zetterberg- considering all the injuries hes still a point per game player this year. That, matched with his defensive effort is pretty good if you ask me. Maybe his goals are down, but he makes up for it by doing what he does for this team. Filppula- without the injury, filppula would have been on pace for 56 points. That is incredible for someone who plays exellent defense and didnt really play steady enough to get good chemistry this year. I would expect nothing less than 60 points for him in a full season like this one. Howard- carried the wings through the season and is pretty much the reason we are where we are. Fourth in Save percentage and sixth in goals against average. Just having a legit number one goalie that you know can steal a game night in and night out it something that the red wings havent had in a while so i look forward to a strong play off and an even brighter future for jimmy. Helm, Eaves and Miller- fourth lines guys with roughyl 10 goals and twenty points each it unreal. Not to mention they put 110% into every single shift and kill penalties every game. Holmstrom- Twenty goals already. Pretty good for a veteran who takes ridiculous amounts of abuse each game. If not for the injury i could haveseen homer getting 25-30 goals with 25 still being possible. Lastly i think that seeing as the wings have just flown right into the play offs for countless years its good to have a year like this. years like this bring a team closer and make that drive to win even more effident. These are some bright spots i have noticed thus far in the year. Add any i have missed and tell me if you agree or disagree.

Hank and Flip Not Working Out Well

they played pretty well tonight, goal and 2 assists for flip and an overtime winner with a helper for zetterberg, pretty good if you ask me

Filppula

how we have ONE that it can all go in

Filppula

k so after all the filppula trade talk, i was thinkin.... this is rare so pay attention so in filppula's 34 games he has 22 points, if he played an entire season that would pace him for about 54 points and this is without having the time to build much chemistry due to his injury. i dont get how people can suggest trading him... imagine he played this whole season, he would gain chemistry and put up at least 60-65 points. If you ask me, thats pretty damn good for a THIRD line centre who plays come of the best defense in the league. Thoughts ?

Prospects

do you think the red wings would be willing to part with prospects kindl and tatar or even abdelkader and helm? I dont want them to be traded but would kenny do it?
13. themule93

Would you take Ilya Kovalchuk if Lidstrom retires?

i think alot of s*** would get solved if we got rafalski and his wopping 6 million dollar contract outta here to be honest. Dont you think there are younger, better and cheaper defensemen than him
