  1. Snaggle toof

Toughest NHL area for visiting teams to play in

While you are right that San Jose experianced its major growth in more recent years, your history is a bit off, San Jose did not grow due to being close to the capital, San Jose was Californias first capital city. It has been an important city in the history of California, even if it didn't get the nation wide recognition. Anyways, as far as the poll, I'm a little suprized to see SJ at the top of the list, as mentioned by others I think a lot of that must have to due with how good the Sharks have been at home the last few years. The fans are pretty good too though.

The Sharks iced that line up against Minesota and did fine(Demers even had two goals), but I would have to agree with you. I guess we will see what happens.

Sharks fan here, just thought I would share some info. The sharks lineup in the OP is a little off, Vlasic will sit for sure tonight, and while Boyle is listed as a game time decision, the Sharks beat writer is reporting it to be very unlikley that he plays. To start the game I would expect the Sharks D to look like Blake-Murrey Huskins-Demers Leach-Joslin Also Shelley will be scratched with Mcginn taking his spot, the fourth line should look like Mcginn-Mitchell-Staubitz Anyways, heres to a good game, cheers

Fair enough, in the end I guess star is a relative term. What I mean is to me the Datsyuks, Lidstroms, Ovechkins are the stars of the league and I don't think Mule is quite on that level. Besides Franzen and Setoguchi are not far off production wise. I think its fair to put them in the same level of player, with an advantage towards Franzen due to his down right scary playoff performances.

While I wouldn't call them star players, Setoguchi and Pavelski are key players for the Sharks. Its very much like the loss of Franzen and Filppula for the wings.

The Sharks have plenty of injurys, Pavelski, Setoguchi, Blake, Mitchell and Vesce. Sharks fan here, but I come in peace. I always love this match up, slow start or not a team like Detroit is one that commands respect. Heres to an entertaining game (and no more injurys for either team).
