WOODSTOCK, Ontario -- A 25-year-old hockey linesman was gravely injured when his neck was cut by a skate during a Junior C game on Tuesday. Kevin Brown was initially reported to be in stable condition, but Woodstock Renegades owner Bill McLeod says he's been told Brown is "not doing so well now." Two players fell to the ice during a scrum late in a game between the Renegades and New Hamburg Firebirds, and one of their skates came up and cut the linesman. According to the North Bay (Ont.) Nugget newspaper, Woodstock's Craig Thomson, who had just scored to tie the game 4-4, got into a fight with New Hamburg's Reid Oliver behind the Firebirds' net after the goal and subsequent celebration. The two traded punches until Thomson threw Oliver to the ice. Oliver's right leg was lifted through the air and his skate cut Brown's throat under his chin on the right side of his face. According to the report, Brown, not realizing he had been gravely injured, continued to break up the fight as he bled profusely on the ice. "I saw the skate go up and he grabbed his neck right away," linesman Bruce Byers said afterwards, according to the report. "You knew he was leaking. I told the guys on the ice, 'It's done.' " Witnesses say Brown's neck was gushing blood as he skated off the ice, and he collapsed before he could reach the benches. Team trainers say he drifted in and out of consciousness as he was loaded into an ambulance. The game was immediately stopped. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/news/story?id=4781782

I'm convinced 100% that the NHL is rigged. There is no way that puck conclusively went across the line. Non-calls in Dallas' favor Howard interfered with. His stick was held. The NHL is worse than WWF when Hulk Hogan went bad. NHL is a f'king JOKE! EDIT: for grammar. I'm so pissed. I'm really bummed because I thought NHL was suppose to be a real sport. Not fiction. Life is no longer reality... in the NHL

You can watch it live on atdhe.net with great quality. Wild are on fire. Score so far is 2-0 Wild 5 minutes in the 1st.

Anyone watch Don Cherry on the NHL network just now? He's pissed off over the USA vs Canada WJC. He ranted off for about 10 minutes about 'player development'. According to him the only reason why USA won was because Canada is the best in the world. Yeah, I scratched my head too. They guy is annoying. He is wearing some clown suit... you know when someone dresses like that, they are an *******.

Instead of Overeacting educate yourself on the Facts of Ott's Goal

I was watching FSN with DVR so I could rewind and slow down. The angle that you describe does not exist on FSN's feed. Can you post screenshots or a video to the angle that you're talking about. Because I have not seen that angle (if it even exists) -

I would rather Wings lose by a legit goal than a non-legit-goal. That's just me though. Another point I'd like to make is people need to start complaining and demanding for higher standards in officiating. What if this continues on to the finals? Something has to be done about it. Demand higher standards. -
Here's an idea. NHL should start disciplining officials for doing a poor job. If I mess up at my work this bad, I'll get disciplined or fired. And rightfully so. I think the NHL is rigged. Look at Burrows for being fined $2,500 telling the world about how messed up the league is.

I thought the way Kenny and Mick described it is the linesman can't overturn a refs decision. And since it was waived off they have to have conclusive proof that it crossed the goal line, which there was none. -

My question is how can a linesman overturn a refs decision. Especially when the ref was in the best (and only) position to see it? -
Thank you for that. I'm going to contribute. Hopefully other do to... We need to band together and make our voices heard.
-
Both. Everything is so commercialized that REFs (linesman) have to decide games to put more money in the NHL's pocket.
-
What is the phone number or email to the NHL. We should overwhelm them with protest.

NHL is a ******* JOKE
-
No and that does not make it right. In fact that proves that NHL is deciding games. It has to stop. Wings should refuse to play for the rest of the year.
-
Babcock should have picked Brad May next to beat the s*** out of their goalie and then put the puck in after Auld is concussed and lifeless on the ice...
-
This is happening with other teams. See Pens and Flyers. This is no conspiracy. It's a fact, NHL is rigged.

I'm done with the NHL. -
I don't wantch wrestling., I don't like fake sports. I like REAL sports. Not staged.... NHL is f'ing staged! Nothing positive being ripped off not once, not twice, not three time, not four times... but 5 f'king times!!!!

Has to be 100% conclusively across the line. It was not proven over the line. Brad May was robbed against a good goal last year... NHL is worse than WWF Oh, you can hold the goalie from making a save now? edit. they just said on FSN that toronto couldn't see it across the line, one ref called no goal the other ref thought it was a goal, so therefore the ref who 'thought' it was a goal overrules everyone else. How much money did he have on the game? That's what I would like to know. IT's RIGGED!

Would anyone give up Helm, Howard and Filppula (or Kronwall) for Kovalchuk? Cause that's what it's going to take.
-
I think Holland is probably the 29th or 30th GM least interested in Kovalchuk. I think draft picks are more valuable in the league than ever, and Holland intends on building from draft picks from now on. Go Wings!
-
I don't want a winger who is going to make more than $4 million per year. I think Koval is gong to demand $8+ million. Screw that, depth is more important than an all-star winger. If Kovalchuck was going to take under $4m, I'd give Ralfi, Williams and Maltby. And since Ralfi has a NTC, guess we not getting Kovalchuck. Filppula and Ericsson are both untouchable. They're going to retire a RW.

SCF- No I did not read that. Is it in OP article? I remember Babcock taking responsibility for the loss to for letting the team fly home to see the family when they should have went straight to the Island.
