Anybody else think we have too many patches on our jerseys this year?

I think this isn't the draft where we make things happen. Next year will be a stronger draft where we should be trading away our better asset like Tatar/nyquist. Seemed like there wasn't much of a market for wingers so better to sell later.

We had to get rid of vanek at any price - losing him helps us tank and get better draft picks. Im happy overall.

I can totally see AA getting sent to GR for a "conditioning stint" and then somebody else will get injured in the meantime.

Trochek always scores against us

Its clear Blashill isn't the answer at HC. His system is basically a crappy version of babcocks but he is getting less out of each guy.

I'd love another look at Sproul. I remember him looking great that one game a couple years back against the Blues. Big guy that skates and hits like a truck. Huge slapper too.

Wait is it 2013?

A couple years ago I would be up in arms over holland not trading for a dman - but at this point i don't even care. Trouba makes so much sense as did many dmen in the past. Its the same old story. He has shown zero interest in making this team a viable contender and only wants to limp into the playoffs. I have never been less excited or proud as a wings fan and this offseason has solidified that.

Holy overpayment... Shoulda been cheaper with the ducks unlikely to resign him for big money.

I'm actually happy for them. I live in Toronto currently and it would be nice to see this place rejuvenated a bit when it comes to hockey so I don't have to listen to all this talk about the Jays and Raptors. Leafs have a great group of young forwards: Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Kapanen, Kadri, JVR But the D needs some work though: Reilly, Gardner, Marincin, Corrado IF they got Stamkos in addition to this group they should be a perennial playoff team in the next 2-3 years with the addition of some UFA help on D.

I think the bigger issue is the piss poor attitude our guys are displaying. I don't remember players coming out in the media like this complaining. Be a professional and discuss these things with the coach and GM rather than going through the media. Grow up. This isn't how the red wings do things.

Not the CLASSIEST name we could have chosen. If it had to be a corporate sponsor then I guess it makes sense to do this one. I hope that after a couple years they decide to take the high road and re-name it.

We need a serious shake-up next season. We need Larkin to be playing top 6 C and we will need one top 6 UFA C at minimum. We need lines with identity and I think having a physical skill 3rd line like this playoffs makes sense. We need skill guys playing with skill guys from now on. FWD: - One of Tatar/Nyquist should be traded to move up in the draft or acquire more pics to get our future D sorted. Tough loss. Refs didn't have us like last game and we got sloppy on the pk a couple times. Our fwds didn't play well positionally on the pk and it burned us. We played very well in the second half of the game and were unlucky to not have taken the lead. ONE thing is for certain - if you move Bishop side to side (like Tampa did to us actually) he is very beatable. We need to do more of this next game.

Johnson always acts like a total ***** when he is called for a penalty - more than any player I can think of . The guy legit thinks he can do no wrong. Contrast that to Datsyuk who just takes his seat in the box when it happens.

I'm sorry but this isn't good enough. We are trending downwards each year and holland does nothing. I want the wings to be on top again.

Great game all around. We had a lot of puck luck for once which was a nice change. Smith played great out there and Mrazek was solid. Good team effort with everyone blocking shots and active sticks. Lets see if we can bring this intensity two games in a row!

I would really love to see holland go. There is too much nostalgia and "loyalty" floating around right now. We need someone impartial to turn what aging guys we have left into assets for the future rather than losing them for nothing when the back wheels fall off. The roster and organization needs a culture change - I'm not saying everything needs to change - but this attitude of simply making the playoffs and no sense of desperation to win is trash.

It's amazing how E never sits. Quincey is just as much a vet as he is and is sitting. E has been a dumpster fire all year and in previous ones.

Blashill's changes are welcome ones - only thing id say is that Smith should be in for E. I don't get it. I hope that glendening sheahan abby line does some damage with all those big bodies. AA and Tatar would be so much sweeter if Mantha and not Andersson was on it. I like the top 2 lines though.

The thing that upsets me the most is that EVERYONE knew coming in that we would have to stop the johnson line. Blashill hasn't done anything to slow them down and nor has he made any adjustments. Pisses me off seeing johnson with 6 points in 2 games...

The sad thing about this whole mess is that we had both Nill and Yzerman in-house and we kept Holland around and let them leave. In one season Nill brought in Sequin and Spezza and in seasons since put great pieces around them. Yzerman has also done great things in Tampa as is obvious to all wings fans right now. Holland has put the same s*** out there every year and let it go stale.

The Blashill approach is that if our team does everything perfect and nobody makes mistakes and we get a few breaks we should win - the problem is that this happens maybe 1 of ever 10 games we play. I'm embarrassed by this stuff and so should Mr. Ilitch.
