Blues re-sign Elliott, announce Miller won't be back
ogreslayer replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
But they also have Frederik Anderson locked up for another year who was getting playing time over Hiller late in the season. I don't see the Ducks being in the Miller business at all in the off season. -
Vladdy as always, thanks for heading the effort up. My rounded up payment in now on the way. Sorry about the delay.

gdt 4/18 ECQF Game 1 GDT: Red Wings 1 @ Bruins 0. DET leads series 1-0

Plus he wasn't suspended for doing the same thing to Alexei Emelin about a month ago. The best revenge isn't a suspension anyways, it's continuing to get under his skin, taking him off his game, & taking the series. -
Great, now I'm picturing Hitch in black armor and a cape & a bald Quenneville with no nose. I work around way too many Hawks fans, so I too am pulling for the Blues in this one.

I will go with: $5 per series win $5 per series sweep $5 per Kronwalling $10 per Kronwalling if recipient is Brad Marchand $1 per game played by Hank $1 per goal from any player from the 2013 Calder Cup winning roster (Nyquist, Tatar, Sheahan, Jurco, Andersson, Glendening, Lashoff, & DeKeyser. Will add to list for call-ups if any)

Mrazek's the backup tonight. Recalled late this afternoon.

As a Cleveland Browns fan, I think I can safely say that the Leafs are far from the worst run franchise in all of sports. -
Maple Leafs Name Shanahan New Club President

IF he had maybe ended his career in Detroit & actually worked in the front office, there might be cause for concern. I think the chances of him actually poaching anyone from the Wings is pretty slim. -
Nyquist since Datsyuk's Return & Unnatural NHL Development
ogreslayer replied to gcom007's topic in General
The main difference is that this is Pulkkinen's first full year of North American hockey. Tatar was 18-19 in his first season & Nyquist was 19. If either of them had seen NHL action at 20, they still would have had a full season of NA hockey experience before hand. -
The 2014 Grand Rapids Griffins Offseason Gameplan
ogreslayer replied to Prashanth Iyer's topic in General
He's going through a pretty rough adjustment period now that he doesn't have MacKinnon & Drouin feeding him for one-timers any more. It's his first year as a pro though so he still has time to figure it out. -
If they have any sense at all, the Aquilini's fire Torts & swap him for Trotz as soon as he hits the open market.

The 2014 Grand Rapids Griffins Offseason Gameplan

If by that you mean that Toledo is off the face of the earth, yes. He's managed all of 0 goals, 16 assists, and a -18 +/- for the Walleye this season. I would be surprised if he got a qualifying offer from the Wings in the offseason. -
GDT 4/9 GDT - Red Wings 3 @ Pens 4 (SO). Wings clinch playoff spot!
ogreslayer replied to MabusIncarnate's topic in General
News is that Andersson is skating in the warm up in case someone can't go. No word yet on who specifically, but I wonder if Alfie's back is acting up again. Edit: It is being reported that Babs said that the potential injury scratch is not Datsyuk. -
Plus he's not a top pairing d-man anymore either. And having the worst year of his career too btw.
-
No way is Boyle, who will be 38 at the start of next season, going to be worth $6.95m a season.
-
If Lashoff or Kindl really look bad in the first game or two of the playoffs, I wouldn't be that surprised to see Ouelllet called up. He might already be a player that Babs can trust in his own zone, more so than those two. If he was healthy, I could have seen Marchenko in that spot too. Will be interesting to see what happens once the cap & roster limits are off come playoff time.

All the speculation I've seen over the Ducks goalie situation revolves around the idea that if they're not interested in re-signing Hiller, it's because the front office wants to roll with Andersen with John Gibson as his backup as they're considering Gibson their goalie of the future. I would actually be surprised if Miller does end up in Anaheim. What wouldn't surprise me is the Blues taking the Cup this season & Miller re-signing there.

If by that you mean that the Jackets overtake Philly in the standings which drops the Flyers down to a wild card spot, sure maybe.

I can't believe nobody's asked yet... Did Kenny give him a NTC?

Tiebreakers are: 1. ROW 2. Points earned head-to-head 3. Goal differential

There is precedent in the NHL for a trade being rejected for being too lopsided & yes of course Mike Milbury was involved. http://nypost.com/1999/06/17/rangers-back-in-palffy-mix-commish-vetoes-isles-kings-deal/

It might mean that they didn't plan for him to play for the Griffs in the AHL playoffs either. If he's going to sit & watch, why not have him do it with the big club at this point?
-
So Alfie day to day with either a groin or back issue? Given how the day to day's have worked out lately, should we just call it a minimum of 2 weeks instead?
-
Weiss - who would take him next season and does he have a full NTC
ogreslayer replied to nyqvististhefuture's topic in General
I believe he pretty much declared himself pain free for a couple days in a row for the first time either yesterday or the day before so injections shouldn't be on the table. It's more of him being able to get back into playing shape but what are the odds that will happen before the end of the regular season? Unless they're desperate for bodies come playoff time, I think the next time we see Weiss will be in the fall.
