Speculation is that Alfie's dealing with either a broken pinkie or ring finger on his right hand though officially, the media was told he didn't skate yesterday as a maintenance day.

Weiss - who would take him next season and does he have a full NTC
ogreslayer replied to nyqvististhefuture's topic in General
And that 1 buy out, their 2nd compliance buy out, cannot be used on Weiss as he was signed after the new CBA went in effect. Tootoo will get the last compliance buy out imo. If the Wings move on Weiss, it will have to be a regular buy out i.e. some of his cap hit will remain after. -
You really didn't read my post at all did you? The "he" I was referring to, answering a question posed by VM1138, was about Cleary, not Pavs.
-
From what I've seen, he hasn't even started skating yet. It would definitely have to be a miracle for him to get back before the end of the regular season & with no cap or roster limit come the playoffs, the Wings will have much better options even if he is ready to go. He's already laced 'em up for the last time in the Winged Wheel...at least I hope he has.
-
Last I'll post on this topic here... Division champs were determined by who won the divisional playoff rounds between 1982 & when the league switched to conference level playoffs in 1994. So on the injury front, it sounds like Cleary is getting over the negative reaction he had to the injections he was getting in his knee. That's good right? Right?
-
Now that they're using a divisional playoff system, more than likely not. The winner to come out of the divisional rounds (1 & 2) will probably be considered the division champion, just like the winners of round 3 of the playoffs are considered conference champs.
-
So here's a mind bender for everyone: Say the Wings take the 7th spot & cross over to the Metro to play the Pens. They take the series, stay in the Metro & beat the winner of the Rangers/Flyers series. Are the Wings not then the champs of the Metro division for 2013-14? Say C'Bus pulls the same feat in the Atlantic & you now have a Metro team as the Atlantic division champ. Do each hang a banner as the champions of the opposite division at the start of the next season? Part of me thinks that Gary does stuff like this on purpose just to completely troll fans.
-
You are looking at the wrong standings. Philly is in the 3rd guaranteed spot in the Metro division which means nothing to the Wings. To move out of a wild card spot & into a guaranteed one within their division (Atlantic), the Wings would need to catch Tampa Bay who are 7 points ahead or Montreal at 9 points.

Latest on the possibility that the Leafs' brass are talking about using a regular buy out on Clarkson in the off season: http://www.thehockeynews.com/blog/rumor-roundup-will-the-maple-leafs-buy-out-david-clarkson/ Still the worst signing of this past off season imo, yes even worse than Weiss for all of you who rail against that one.
-
Might be good for Tatar that he didn't. Clarkson would want a word with him then.

Leaf's fan runs onto ice and try's to shoot puck with crotch.
ogreslayer replied to wings87's topic in General
More like signed him to 7 years at a cap hit of $5.25m a year. In addition to tipping pucks off his crotch in front of the goalie, he'll also take over as their #1 ambassador of water bottle etiquette. -

Hopefully Franzen continues his history of being a Hab killer tonight.

gdt 3/25 GDT - Red Wings 2 at Blue Jackets 4
ogreslayer replied to MabusIncarnate's topic in General
Hear you there. The ridiculous center depth the Wings should have next year makes me think that his time with the big club is over after this season. -
gdt 3/25 GDT - Red Wings 2 at Blue Jackets 4

He was skating on a line with Helm & Andersson this morning. Bert will probably replace Emmerton on the line with Miller & Glendening, but that's just my guess. -
Trade Legwand to Detroit for Eaves, Jarnkrok + cond 3rd/2nd
ogreslayer replied to gcom007's topic in General
And Legwand has 1 more goal, 3 more assists, & 2 more Malkin balls since coming over to Detroit. -
James Neal Cross-Check to Glendening's Head [GIF] - Suspension?
ogreslayer replied to a topic in General
Yeah, too bad... -
Why wait? I just pulled the trigger on a Nyquist Winter Classic jersey this morning.
-
Last I saw is that Helm might be back as soon as Saturday. Just hope that the rest of the roster doesn't relax too much if/when players start to come back.

GDT 3/20 GDT - Penguins 4 at Red Wings 5 (OT)
ogreslayer replied to MabusIncarnate's topic in General
Personally, I think the bigger foul on the original was getting jerseys with your own name on it. -
He still has a year left on his KHL contract right?
-
KHL player, 23, 5'11" 200lbs, a center, & from the same town as Pavs. And here's where a comment about counting chickens comes into play.

Is the Real Brendan Smith Finally Starting the Show Up?
ogreslayer replied to NYC Wings Fanatic's topic in General
Yup. Send Ferraro back down if you're not going to play him & call Ouellet up to take Smith's spot. -
