Since trading away Jarnkrok, the Red Wings now face a tough decision. Who is the next player (aside from Mantha) that will be a star for the Griffins after their season is over. The answer is very simple. Hampus Melen will report to GR this year! There's your next headline people...just have to print the newspapers.

And for what it's worth, when it comes to Jarnkrok there aren't a whole lot of guys making grand careers for themselves in the NHL that the Wings gave up on/got rid of/traded at his age. There have been a couple but in assessing talent the Wings aren't exactly the Islanders either...

Chicago absolutely did take Detroit seriously. Their play was consistent with their previous round, Toews lost his cool and hurt his team, and our kids outplayed the Hawks.
We lost because we choked, not because Chicago was on some other level. Chicago barely escaped.
Tanking to get one player is just not smart.
