Im kinda seeing where you're coming from With all the injuries last year I was happily surprised they got all the way to 5th seed in playoffs and Lidstrom was trying to do too much I think. He's the captain and felt he had to and Its probably why we love him . At 40 if he put up a solid season and the Wings go deep ... I'm saying right now .. He's a lock Like just having a knack for sticking out his stick at just the right time to make a forward look silly ? Or pullin back for an apparent pass and and slappin a wrister in the back of the net? He just seems to be in the right place .. He aint faster or stronger then most ... just smarter

They look determined .. But the reputation for choking is still intact until they make the finals

I dunno I thought they had a mediocre season considering they played like studs after the Olympics and just squeaked into the 5 hole seed Thought they had momentum and in stride entering playoffs Just wasnt enough left in the tank .. Gunna be a down year or two once in a while , it just happens

Are we expecting too much of the boys? Won 2008 2nd 2009 Came out and had a far sub-par season by Redwings standards . They got hot at the end of the season and scooted from 9th behind Calgary to 5th . They're taking way to many penalties and frankly some of those are head scratchers , and too me they just look tired . 4 Cups in 12 years? If you' have told me that n '94 Id tell you I'd take that . Im not syaing it's over till it's over, down 3-0 they're still The Wings . But honestly I'm not gunna cry if they get ousted here . My 2 cents and I don't think it's worth that .

It ain't over. And they are the Wings. But really. If they lose it's a terrible season? If they rolled over after the olympic break and quit playin ID say fail to do what they've done , I'm calling it a solid effort. So are we feeling entitled to win? Game 4 in the Joe thurs. I'll be rooting harder then ever iF they win yay. If they don't I salute my team that put it all out there and didn't quit.

Really hope he sticks it out another year or two Future hall of famer ,quality person,team leader. He'd be missed. But like always with the wings the next leader will stand up in the absence of one. I hope he plays more but I wish him only the beat if he moves on. And eagerly wait to see who cam fill his shoes and step it up.
