Well, I don't know. Football isn't really a sport where you need passion to play. If you've got talent like Favre does, you put in a decent effort for a 16 game season (or 20 including a championship run). Quarterback is the least physical position, so it's not like you have to have drive to play 82+ games in which every game you have to constantly be moving and making that extra effort to get the puck that's just out of your reach, or fight for the puck in the corners or to get to the front of the net night in and night out.
Passion counts in hockey. To be brutally honest, I don't think it comes in play much in football, at least from a quarterback's position.

I'm conflicted about this. On one hand I'd love to see him finish his career in Michigan. On the other hand I feel like the bottom 6 needs to stay open for young players to prove themselves. Wouldn't it be cool if Mursak or Tatar could play themselves onto the 3rd line in camp and the preseason? It's a long shot but it's virtually impossible once you add yet another NHL forward to the mix.
This move really makes the most sense if the Wings don't keep one or both of Miller and Eaves. Of course that would mean Modano would have to log a lot of PP time as well.
I'm really hoping one of the young offensive prospects will play his way onto the team in camp and make an impact early.

People need to drop the Zetterberg as the 1st line centre and Datsyuk as the 2nd line centre bulls***. Zetterberg has never put up more points than Datsyuk in the regular season and likely never will. Datsyuk is a superior defensive player and is (generally) better on face-offs.
Do you ever wonder why the Red Wings always play Datsyuk as the 1st line centre in these scenarios? You shouldn't.
Zetterberg's forte is the play-offs. Let him save his steam for when it counts. Datsyuk is too dominant to put on your 2nd line in any scenario.

I don't get it either. Everyone is basically giving him the finger for running the team when no one else could due to injuries. I want Bert back and still have not heard a good enough argument to release him.
