  1. Do you think we should aim for the low ones?
  2. Well, Vanek brought a conditional 1st, a 2nd, and Matt Moulson when the Islanders acquired him. The Habs only got him for less because because everybody knew The Islanders were desperate to get back some of what they spent to get him. I think a 1st is definitely reasonably wth the other deals going on.
  3. Yeah, I kind of thought his window had closed. Even for the Red Wing way Jensen was way over ripe (does that make him rotten? haha). Marchenko and XO got called up a repeatedly rather than giving Jensen his turn and even Sproul got a game a few years ago. Thought they had decided he was not part of the future.
  4. From what we've seen from him, it really is a head scratcher why we didn't see Jensen before this year. How many NHL Dmen play their 1st NHL game at age 26?
  5. “This is not an insurance policy,” said Lombardi. “There’s not a lot of room here for error. We just want to take that out of the equation by making sure that we have a No. 1 goalie in there every night.” Haha. Not an insurance policy, you're just making sure you have a no. 1. Umm Lambardi, that is an insurance policy. Gotta work on your spin talk.
  6. TSN says Eric Cernak is going to be a top 4, puck-moving Dman. He's listed 6'3", 203 lbs and righthanded. He was a 2nd round pick in 2015 (43rd overall). Could be a good pick up by Stevie. This could be a really bad trade for the Kings. If Quick plays the majority of the season and into the playoffs and they have significant success, they could have payed a 2nd round pick and a top 4 D man for a slightly upgraded backup who only plays a few games. I guess if they go far, they won't care that much, though. There must be significant concerns about Quick's recovery.
  7. There were rumours that they were interested in him. Tatar would bring a bigger return though and they probably wouldn't give up what it would take. I'm sure Kenny would want a good player rather than a pick or prospect for mr. Tatar. Anyway, the hawks are always dealing with cap concerns these days and they couldn't fit Tatar in - especially with him on the verge next year. I think that's got to be a plus for them with Jurco since makes 900 thou and won't be getting much of a raise next year as things stand.
  8. That seems weird to me. Vanek also had his stint with Montreal and reports were that the Habs didn't make a huge attempt to re-sign him after that 2014 playoff run. They already gave up a 2nd and a prospect for him that year - It would be kind of funny if they gave up a similar price just to bring him back again.
  9. You mixed this up when checking stats. Jarnkrok currently has 22 pts in 60 game this season compared to Sheahan's 9. Last season, he had 30 pts. compared to Sheahan's 25.
  10. Jurco had 15pts in 36 games his first year (on pace for 34 pts). In his 2nd year he had 18 pts. in 63 games (on pace for 23-24 pts). On a good offensive team like the Hawks 30 isn't an unreasonable guess.
  11. If Jurco gets us a 3rd then Smith will bring at least a second and Vanek should be a good return. Sad to see the Jurco story went so badly here - I still think he'll be a solid NHL player.
  12. Did not expect that one. Good for Jurco to a fresh start. Wonder how much playing time he gets this year with them.
  13. As an Illitch, it would be fitting for him to be the pizza man at the door...
  14. He already had a stint with the Islanders and he refused to sign with them. And that was when they were doing better. I don't know why he would sign with them now especially with Tavares set to be a UFA after next year.
  15. I saw a tsn report that said some teams are making deals with Vegas so that they'll promise not to take certain players. Apparently that's allowed. It adds a new aspect to the expansion draft and it means teams won't be forced to either trade certain players or lose them to the draft.
