Lol, sorry had a bit of a derp moment there. Somehow my mind temporarily confused last nights OT with the one we lost the other week. Maybe I'm getting old.

Wow, the Wings really got screwed last night. The one Stars goal should have clearly been disallowed for a kicking motion, and the other should have never even happened, since it should have not been called an icing. Hilarious that someone said Stars fans were bitching about the officiating. Do they not realize the only reason they even won was because of the officiating?

Was nice to see Howard back on his game tonight. And to look on the bright side, even though we lost the last two games, points-wise, we only lost one.

Sure Wideman can't wait to start playing for Calgary again now, knowing that one of his teammates is a completely untrustworthy scumbag snake. Totally agree with LeftWinger. Regardless of if you agree or not, it is a total piece of s*** move to rat out a teammate like that, and says everything about said persons character. I hope the entire team comes together to flush out the snake and handles them appropriately.

@xtrememachine1 (since the quote function is STILL broken for a large portion of us even after 2 years of people mentioning it) My question is more, why wouldn't you let Mraz play, knowing he pretty much always has great rebound games from bad performances? For no other reason than giving Jimmy some ice time? (knowing he seems to choke when put into these situations) Seems like a bad coaching call to me given the standings currently and what needs to be done.

Bad coaching call to put Jimmy in this game, IMO. Yes, Mraz had a s*** last game and was possibly hungover, but he is driven and usually rebounds from those games with a lights out performance. He should have been given a chance to redeem himself here. I know you gotta give Jimmy a shot eventually to get his game and confidence back up, but this wasn't the game to do that.

The car in the corner and all the other over the top corporate ads in that arena mixed with the afternoon start time makes it feel like I'm watching a European tournament. lol

I never really go to the NHL website except to check standings occasionally. I just went to the standings and...wtf? The old site looked nice and sleak, well laid out. The new standings page looks like someone just uploaded an excel spreadsheet circa 1999. Its 2016 and the NHL is a multi billion dollar industry. There is no excuse for such a s*** website.

Nice W against the refs. Seriously though, its aggravating as f*** to see games like this where it appears that the refs are blatantly trying to throw the game to one team.

With so many reviews being deemed inconclusive from the overhead and front camera views, I am surprised there isn't more of an argument being made to put cameras in the backs of the nets again. It would solve a lot of these cases where you can't tell from overhead or the front.

Guess I'm going to have to dip into a couple extra "ginger ales"...

What actually happened to the ice? (I haven't been listening to the commentary) The ice was fine the first two periods, what could happen to possibly make it so bad that they are talking about cancelling the game now???

Seeing this game makes me think... I'm surprised we don't see more people complaining and bitching about games like this where a team takes the lead and dares to keep playing. Especially in the age of ultra "politically correct" extremism, where people think that nobody should be made to feel bad or be offended for any reason. Makes me think back to the 07-09 Wings when we were dominating opponents, and how the media would crucify the Wings if they went up by 4 and didn't either just give up and play defense the rest of the game or let the other team get a "catch up" goal or two so they would feel better. If the Wings even dared to keep playing (god forbid scoring another goal) back then after going up 4, they be accused of showboating and torn completely apart the next day in the press.

I was wondering about the exact thing that Mickey mentioned when it happened last game. Maybe someone can explain. Why is it that when two players take coincidental minors during full strength play they both go to the box and it goes 4 on 4, but when it happens when a team is already on the power play, nothing happens (other than both players going to the box) and they keep going 5 on 4 instead of 4 on 3?

Meh. Clearly (to me anyway) he was dazed and thought it was an opposing player, but that won't stop the lynch mob from demanding his head on a platter.

The reffing is beyond a ******* joke at this point. Call me a conspiracy theorist, but something shady is definitely going on with the reffing tonight. Not even NHL refs can be this incompetent

Wow... talk about absolutely horrible one sided reffing. Ignoring all the other trips and cross checks, there is no way that any ref on the leve should miss playing the puck on the faceoff with a broke stub of a stick, OR the overhead BC two hander that shattered Datsyuks stick, OR Howie getting rolled over into the back of his own net. I'm sure its just a "coincidence" that so many of these games where the Wings get totally screwed over by absolutely unexcusably horrible and questionable reffing also happen to be the ones where O'halloran is reffing.
