I'm with Frank and the others, the new site sucks.
I was confused, as I just checked the site for the schedule like a week ago and everything looked the same as always. I searched it yesterday for the schedule, and was like "wtf?"
I couldn't even figure out how to find the simple schedule listing the TV time and stations, the site was such a mess. First, I just got sent to a page with a giant ass calendar. Then I got a page that just had two big boxes side by side all the way down the page, and seemed like it was for smartphones only. Finally on try three I found the actual schedule list. NOW though, instead of being a clean list of every game, separated by months, with a drop down menu to let you pick pre-regular-or post season, all the games are listed back to back in one giant unending list from game one to the last game of the season, with no monthly separation or anything. Not to mention is takes up the whole screen, and looks like a massive step backwards.
I guess its more of the same old BS change for the sake of change, even though the new change doesn't help anything or make it more functional, the opposite in fact....
EDIT: and to add further as to why the new site completely sucks, I looked at the schedule page to see what the score of the game last night was, and...nada, nothing.
The schedule page on the old site let you view everything, game schedule, TV listing schedule, scores from past games with a link to the recap right next to it. The new site? Yeah, not so much.

I, for one, applaud the change. The old logo has no place in our modern PC world it is angry and aggressive and evokes feelings of violence and rape. It at once scares, disgusts and offends me.
I welcome the passive pussycat as the new logo...

I don't know if that's what he was looking for, but it was pretty dope regardless.

And though none of us will ever know, if it happens that Petr was hungover from his birthday celebration, and that is why he looked like s*** today, hopefully he learns a valuable lesson from this and never does that s*** again.

I never really go to the NHL website except to check standings occasionally. I just went to the standings and...wtf? The old site looked nice and sleak, well laid out. The new standings page looks like someone just uploaded an excel spreadsheet circa 1999.
Its 2016 and the NHL is a multi billion dollar industry. There is no excuse for such a s*** website.

With so many reviews being deemed inconclusive from the overhead and front camera views, I am surprised there isn't more of an argument being made to put cameras in the backs of the nets again. It would solve a lot of these cases where you can't tell from overhead or the front.

Seeing this game makes me think... I'm surprised we don't see more people complaining and bitching about games like this where a team takes the lead and dares to keep playing. Especially in the age of ultra "politically correct" extremism, where people think that nobody should be made to feel bad or be offended for any reason.
Makes me think back to the 07-09 Wings when we were dominating opponents, and how the media would crucify the Wings if they went up by 4 and didn't either just give up and play defense the rest of the game or let the other team get a "catch up" goal or two so they would feel better. If the Wings even dared to keep playing (god forbid scoring another goal) back then after going up 4, they be accused of showboating and torn completely apart the next day in the press.

Wow... talk about absolutely horrible one sided reffing. Ignoring all the other trips and cross checks, there is no way that any ref on the leve should miss playing the puck on the faceoff with a broke stub of a stick, OR the overhead BC two hander that shattered Datsyuks stick, OR Howie getting rolled over into the back of his own net.
I'm sure its just a "coincidence" that so many of these games where the Wings get totally screwed over by absolutely unexcusably horrible and questionable reffing also happen to be the ones where O'halloran is reffing.

WTF. Are the camera guys and the sound guys all drunk or high today? First the aspect ratio, then the weird zoom ins, now the break songs running in the background...

This game is, sadly, just another in the long line of examples of the NHL refs trying to intentionally throw a game to one team. With both teams committing pretty much equal levels of infractions, yet no call on Washington and 4 on Detroit.
And as I type this, the refs accomplish their goal. This is the reason the NHL is losing actual real fans that actually know about hockey. (despite the fact they may be gaining fair weather and/or temporary new "fans")
The reffing is a joke at best, and corrupt and intentionally throwing games at worst.
Worst officiating in any big pro sport, by FAR.

Much like throwback basketball jerseys were one of the fashions of choice for rappers in the early 2000's, hockey jerseys were one of the fashions of rappers in the early-mid 90's.

As was already pointed out, the rink size will not be changed. It would cost tens, if not hundreds of millions of dollars to convert all the NHL arena surfaces, not to mention the millions in revenue that would be lost due both the time it would take and the seats that would be lost. Not feasible.
