Out here in Buffalo I've heard convincing rumors that he did and didn't do it. At this point I think it's fair for Chicago to give him the benefit of the doubt. Fact is the man is still innocent at this point. If that changes I'm all for swift and harsh punishment The best thing that can happen is this goes to grand jury and the truth is exposed for better or worse

What if both happen? Does a tie go to the veteran? -

I just think it's interesting that 2 teams have like all the PTOs -

If I gave away 10 million dollars I'd at least want my name on a building lol -
This is to dump contracts so that they can sign all their PTOs. Boyes, Glencross, Setoguchi Babs literally has a team of misfit toys/spare parts

Stop with this unnecessary Smith backlash
-
Maybe you missed the parts where I said I don't hate Smith and think he's still a decent D-man. Try not to overlook that when painting me as being irrational. If you think he deserves that PP time then by default you're saying he has more offensive upside than a lot of our other players. Players that have shown their offensive gifts well exceed Smiths. 25 - 30 pts would be thrilling for him. But it wouldn't lead me to advocate for giving him PP time.
-
Hardly, I have no hatred for Smith. It's your insistence that he's this PP, point producing, D-man that leads you to get upset when I point out that he's clearly not. He never has been in the NHL. 25-30 points also isn't anything special. In fact it's pretty average for the skill set you claim Smith possesses. We'll see if he even hits those numbers... He's simply not the offensive weapon he was projected to be. There's nothing wrong with that, he's still an ok defender. But let's quit painting him up to be something he's not.
-
Pretty much. Even if Smith was a D-man capable of quarterbacking an offensive play (he's not) there's absolutely no room on the PP for him at this point.

Playing wing ain't saving Smiths career.

Being really good offensively so that it reduces the amount of time you have to play defense is way different than being good at executing defensive plays, though they serve a similar purpose. Dekeyser is there to take the puck away, Green is there to keep the puck away. -
If we win the cup I'll be fine with that
-
If they actually like him for some reason, I'm all for it. I just doubt that's the case. Maybe the angle is he brings a different game then anyone else to training camp? A different type of player to spice things up?

Isn't he a career AHLer?

If Green pulls a Rafalski you don't need to admit error. Just be positively surprised. -

If you expect Green to prevent goals like Lids and Niedermayer then you should already be disappointed with this signing -
