I think if Tatar is going to be a top level player in this league, this could be the year. Same with Nyquist. I'd like to see Huds repeat this last season. Not so sure he will.

Otherwise he's a very hard working player on all ends of the ice. My edge goes easily to Ovi. Had Ovi been Canadian and drafted in Toews spot on the Hawks, and Toews Russian and drafted in Ovi's spot on the Caps... Toews would be talked about like Backstrom and Ovi would be talked about like Super Mario.

Which is why I suggested Stammer will get around 9, unless he returns to to that form, then he'll get more. Prices are going up. Guys who once would have made 6 or 7 are making 8 and 9 now. Sure a price like 7.5 like Tarasenko got would have been better, but the difference isn't going to break them.

I'm guessing Kopitar gets a contract similar to this one. Somewhere around 8. Stamkos has slowed a touch these past two seasons. If he starts flirting with 100 pts again I can see him getting a huge aav, but another 72 point season and Yzerman would be dumb to give him anything much higher than 9.

Definitely a gamble, but he's a player that that team can't afford to lose at this point. He's got some leverage. Not like Giroux fed the guy all season either. Voracek outscored him and acted as pretty darn good playmaker.

So you think the contract is bad or no? More examples: Tarasenko at 7.5 or Stepan at 6.5. Voracek was 5th in the entire league in scoring this last season. And he's big and he's young. I'm saying he pretty much got market value.

I mean he's a point per game player. That's pretty much what they go for now. Not like he got Toews Kane money. Freaking ROR got 7.5 per.
