Doesn't AA also play LW though? And Datsyuk and Zetterberg alternate between C and LW, maybe AA and Larkin can do the same.
-
Yeah I thought the general rule was don't use the kids, unless you have to, until they're overripe. Perhaps Larkin is overripe? We haven't had a Zberg/Datsyuk level prospect in a long time. Maybe he's that level.

Guys like Glencross can't even get a job. Coles done. Good for Janmark. Hope he ends up like Jarnkrok and sucks though.
-
He hasn't retired yet though has he?
-
Yeah I thought the call was going to be charging when I watched the play
-
Don't get me wrong, I think Torres is an idiot and a dirty player. His history of this is why he got the 41 games. I just thought on this particular play he didn't appear to be gunning for the head, and it seemed to me that any actual head contact was incidental. If you changed the name on the back of the jersey there might not be a suspension at all.
-
And Erik Cole remains unsigned
-
Anyone we'd waive probably doesn't have much trade value.
-
Right? People might not like Torres as a player, but to me this just shows we're slowly waving bye bye to big hit hockey for better or worse. I didn't think that hit deserved 41 games.

Cleary's mere existence harms the team
-
Sorry I'm mostly just excited about Larkin
-
McDavid, Eichel, AND Larkin might have something to say about that. 5) Babcock wins Jack Adams

Glendening is young Abdelkader and will one day become useful power forward

1. Red Wings D-men take more risks with disastrous consequences 2. Prospect ripening intensifies 3. Jeff "Softy" Blashill coddles soft team making them softer 4. Red and white tanks roll down woodward
-
I did, maybe it's too fast for me, I just don't see targeting of the head.
-
So either your wrong about Jensen, or the Red Wings are making dumb moves. The Red Wings don't make a lot of dumb moves.. I think the ceiling is much higher for Ouellet
-
So why do you think they're playing the worse defenseman then if Jensen is so much better?
-
Age is my best guess. What I think that indicates is that Ouellet has more room to grow, whereas this might be nearing the peak of Jensens game. And that's why XO is getting fast tracked over other guys including Jensen. And this is going off the fact that they're both about equal in play. Jensen is very good, and he's right handed, sure, but XO looks very good too. theres a reason he's getting playing time.

I'm not one for trading Helm, but oh boy does AA scream Helm replacement. FASTTTT and with some skills. -
Sadly I think he saddled himself to the same type of situation he was in before with us. Expendable. Bruins have goalie prospects behind him that will make him expendable very soon, just like our situation with him and Mrazek. Jonas will be in europe in less than a few years.
-
Yeah, honestly I don't have a problem with the hit. He got rocked. Sometimes you get rocked. This is hockey. This is life.
-
I think the difference is Ouellet and Jensen are already at similar skill levels and XO is 22 and Jensen is 25. Logic says XO has a much higher ceiling than Jensen. I like that Xavier is getting this experience early/now.
-
He took a few strides but I thought it looked shoulder to shoulder, at least didn't look like he was targeting the head on purpose to me. Maybe I'm blind.

Crosby says Zetterberg most competitive player he ever faced as pro

Pretty sure it takes more than being an average athlete and competitiveness to score 786 pts in the NHL by age 34. But hey, that's just me. -
