Just pulled into the Dunkin Donuts in Bainbridge, NY. Riding shotgun with my best friend taking his son back to RPI, and we've got the game on the XM with Ken Kal and Paul Woods. So far so good, loving Z with 2 assists, and Kronwall and Goose with the goals. But, being the greedy guy I am, and it's against Vancouver, I want more! So what if Drew got one last game (very well deserved, imho), I want him to get at least one past his brother. Heck, let's pile on and have everybody skating for the Wings get at least a point. How has Howard looked? Sounds pretty average and Van Halen worthy on the radio.

Looking forward to the first 4 game win streakof the season for the boys. I've got a good feeling about this one. It's a bummer about X-O Manowar being sent down, but if Smith is in beast mode, It may be for the best, as I think Ouellet needs to play big minutes, and with the confidence gained from this callup he may become dominant for the Griffs, which will elevate his play when he comes back up.

I do believe that the young guys do need to learn how to win as you say. The vast majority of the current roster wasn't around for the 2008 run. Guys like Pavel and Zetterberg can lead the way, but some things need to be forged in the heat of battle. I have a feeling that Cleary is exceptional in practices, etc. in getting some of the younger guys to bear down, and that's why so many in the organization wanted him back. He's been better on the ice this season and I could see him transitioning into coaching/player development after this season.

There does seem to be more "will to win" in some games than I've seen in recent years. I'm looking forward to watching the DVR of the game when I return home tonight. It seems that the mix of the team is starting to gel nicely, and with some puck luck, could surprise a lot of people. I did watch the highlights this AM, and I'm thrilled that Miller finally got a goal, he's been working very hard, and the timing of his overdue reward (goal) couldn't have been better.

I was visiting the parents today but I dvr'ed the game. We were at the huge Cabela's store in Hamburg, PA during the game, but I did let out a pretty loud "f*** yeah" when I saw the score at the bar afterwards. The scary thing is a guy who looked like a sixty year old cross between Lord Farquadt from Shrek and Odd Job from the the James Bond franchise was being a bit too friendly to my wife and I after he heard me singing along with the band that was playing to my wife. He said he was going to go to McDonalds and eat everything that they ever invented. I urged him not to, as his ass would be on fire, and he started dancing around saying his ***hole was already on fire. Fortunately the bouncer stepped in and escorted him out before I had to drop the gloves....
