Matt, I messaged you earlier but haven't heard back. Any spots left?

Just replied -- just busy this weekend! I sent you an invite for the Buy-In league.

Officially both of the Keeper League teams (this thread) are still available. Each GM that takes over a team gets to pick 6 players from that roster to keep -- the rest will be draft-eligible for the Live Draft on the 30th. (This is the case for all teams in the league -- some good players to be had!)

  5. Hey guys -- apologies for the issues. I was out of town when the forums went down earlier this week (part of a faulty security update that didn't completely finish) and didn't even realize it until someone reached out to me via the Facebook page. Should be all set now. Best way to get ahold of me if there are issues is through Facebook or via Twitter (@LetsGoWingscom).

Great game to be at, but I really wish they would of upgraded the leg room. It's about the same as it was at the Joe sadly. If you are over 6 foot, good luck... Everything else was great.

Where were you sitting? I've heard the upper bowl is a bit tighter. I was in the lower and thought the seats were great. (I'm about 6'3".) The legroom was deeper than what I recall from the Joe, and the seat padding.... that was awesome. Pillows.

  7. I gotta say -- when you're in the arena the goalhorn sounded just fine to me. Very loud. Not sure how to explain why it is on the tv feed other than maybe that because the horn is digitized and going through the speakers that the tv broadcast is capable of muting the in-stadium audio feed a bit so it doesn't overpower the talking heads? Pure spitballing. But it definitely IS loud in the arena.

  8. To add: There was a software update last week that I performed and it seemed like the spammers showed up following that. Another update was released today which I just finished installing -- hopefully that takes care of it. If not, we'll be vigilant.

  11. What a weird feeling. Never had to NOT put the playoff wins counter up there.

Earlier on this season I was on the "fire Blashill, trade everyone" train... I'm still on it. Time to break everything down and build it back up. I'd rather deal with a few down years for a proper rebuild with the right people in the front office than continue with half-measures as everything wilts.

I'm all for creating a new thread for "bigger" news items - Red Wings or any other team - but I try to steer clear from posting new topics about "smaller" items. Maybe it's just me, though - hate to feel as if I'm "cluttering" the forum. For example, I saw that Sproul's is in the lineup today, and didn't post because there isn't a GDT yet.

Posting threads for 'smaller items' is better than having no items at all. I wouldn't worry about it. Your feeling that you are 'cluttering up the forum' is the exact feeling I want to eliminate. People should feel free to post. If it gets crazy then I'll have to address it, but I really (really) don't see that being a problem.

The only thing is, in the past, users would make a thread for many small subjects and we've been advised not to clutter up the forum and to find a thread that has that subject in it.  ie. Offseason thread, trades around the league, fixing this team...etc...but i understand the idea of not just having 2 active threads, makes the forum look unappealing and boring. This is the best Hockey forum worldwide and we want that to continue!

I'm well aware of that, but when the 1st page of the main discussion forum has topics on it that haven't seen a post in a week there's certainly room to break the discussions out. If it becomes a problem in the future then I'll address it then, but it certainly isn't one now.

Side note: We should have another "Around the League" thread devoted to this sort of stuff.

No need for mega threads as catch-alls. The forum isn't useful (and discourages new visitors from registering and commenting) if there's a half-dozen threads total with any regular activity. I'm putting a moratorium on the mega-threads.

  15. It's no problem at all. I'm also exploring ways to make organizing site downloads a bit better, and integrated better into the forums here (besides me just listing links in a post). I did that previously with the main site, but in lieu of that I'm looking at adding the "Downloads" add-on for the forum software. That way it'll be organized (and I can better track downloads to determine what's popular and not) and leaves options to add additional downloadable content. (Such as non-calendar wallpapers, mobile/tablet wallpapers, etc.)
