this would sting a little less if it weren't Setoguchi scoring on us so much, hated him ever since he was with the Sharks and diving all over the ice, esp. during the playoffs

it's the one thing keeping us all together in these trying times...

Why the heck not? I'm still going to be hoping for us to win this series, so why on earth would I say no? Yeah, it's probably naive but if it's still possible then I'm always going to believe we can win it. Been watching this team for a good few years now and I know what they are capable of if they want to.
Franzen needs to pull his finger out and get in front of the net, Z need to stop taking up office BEHIND the net and get in the slot (I honestly don't remember a shot from the slot all game last night), Rinne is a big guy but he's down on his pads early and it's really his sprawling reach that saves him. Get a shot high on his blocker side and he'll have trouble. I mean this goal says it all, Rinne goes down way before Dats pulls the trigger and then can't get his shoulder up in time.


He's not unbeatable but pucks need to get up off the ice, not stay low and hope they go between the pads. If they're intent on playing the game behind the net then have a guy waiting in the slot because when Rinne hugs the post he stays down, he rarely stands back up when the puck comes out front. That actually frees up a lot of net.
I'm still a believer and always will be. Because this is the team that I love and I'll never bet against them.

Lol @ anyone who has 'faith' in this team. Have you not watched this team since February? They haven't beat anyone and just let the Predators have home ice. They obviously don't really want it.

I know a 3-1 lead in a series is almost impossible to overcome, but there is something about this team that tells me they will not go down. I still have faith in this team.
During the regular season we we're incredibly streaky (both good and bad). We often found ourselves in 1-6 game slumps only to follow it up with a winning streak of our own. This gives me reason to believe that we still have a chance in this series. I know that this is the playoffs and games are 10x harder to close out and mistakes can cost you a series, but we aren't a young team. We have the experience in big games. The wings play better when there backs are against the wall and when they are on the brink of elimination. That is why I still have faith in this team.
I know these following predictions may seem lofty but I see them as entirely possible. There are too many times where a team lets off the gas pedal and can't finish. That won't be the case with Detroit, they will finish strong.

Detroit makes a statement and puts the pressure right back on Nashville.

Nailbiter game that could go either way, but Detroit wins at home.

GAME 7:
This game will feature playoff hockey at its finest, with the highs and lows of everything you could imagine. Detroit wins in overtime.

- Get the first goal
- Don't allow odd man rushes
- Limit turnovers
- Stay out of the penalty box
- Get 2nd chances on Rinne

I don't disagree, but when your team isn't doing well especially come playoff time, you look to your big players. Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Franzen.
Dats and Z haven't been bad and even when they're not scoring they're strong defensively. When Franzen isn't scoring he's not doing much else. You can't rely on him to hit because half the time when he does it it's because he's mad and bound to take a penalty.
And like I said in another post, he's a known floater during the regular season, taking games off. And the answer is always "wait until the playoffs."
The Wings can't wait much longer.

I think the Wings are going to win this series. They beat San Jose 3 times in a row last year. They can do the same to the Preds. The Wings should be up 3-1 in this series but the Preds are getting all the breaks. I picked the Preds to win this series in 7, but having seen these 4 games has made me realize the Preds are not as good as I thought they were. The Wings need to do a better job of attacking the middle of the ice and screening Rinne. Filppula needs to improve. Franzen needs to drive to the net more. Nick needs to assert himself into this series. Jimmy needs to be better than Rinne. All these things can be accomplished. The pressure is on Nashville now as the hardest game to win is the 4th one. The Wings have already won in their building. I think the Wings are the better team here and believe they will win the series. Have fatih Wings fans. We win Friday, Sunday and Tuesday and move on to round 2.

Nashville in 4. Our Defense is weak, we have forwards that turn the damn puck over all the time, along with defensive errors over and over. Oh yeah, our Powerplay is nonexistant and they happen to have the best power play at home. Did I mention the fact this team is 17-21-3 on the damn road................... Game, Set, Match. Sorry Folks.

Datsyuk has Rinne's number. Red Wings are going to school Nashville... Preds are out of their league agaisnt a superior and veteran DRWs.

Eh, Vancouver probably deserves to win but when you have that lead in your house with 30 seconds left with that crowd behind you, you don't give up that goal under any circumstance.

Can the Red Wings decline the Power Play?

Sharks say they hoped DET was still on their streak so they could break it. I love it because in my mind I've had this upcoming game against the Sharks circled on the calendar. I can't stand how the Sharks currently have the Wings' number and I really want the Wings to beat their asses.
