  1. I will ask you to refer again to our lineup without Green in the lineup. Eats minutes so some of these other chumps don't play as much, plays the PP, Plays against top players and he can actually move the puck out of our end. I know Green wouldn't be considered a true #1 anymore but he is the closest we have to one. As for Blashill. Just listen to his post game pressers. He says the same thing every bloody time. " We can't dwell on that game, we just have to get better".............YOU AREN'T GETTING BETTER JEFF.
  2. I don't think he will be one of them. He could've went somewhere else in free agency in the off season if he wanted to but decided to re sign in Detroit. I don't know what other offers were out there but I would assume they were comparable to what he got from other teams better than the Wings. Probably went for a special back alley rub down. Rub and Tizzug. ( Trailer park boys reference )

Thanks. Unfortunately I won't be heading over to Vancouver for any games. Just the pool play in Victoria.

I am going to see Canada vs Slovakia ( pre tourney ) and then Sweden vs Finland and USA vs Slovakia on boxing day. Can someone give me a quick run down of what Wings prospects I can expect to see in these games for these teams. Thanks
  5. I would love one our stats gurus to tell me what our record is with and without Green. I'm guessing we have barely won a game without him. He eats minutes, he plays special teams and he MOVE THE DAMN PUCK. I did my own research quickly. We are 13-8-2 with Green in the lineup and 1-8-3 without. That is a pretty telling stat.
  6. Classic sign of an average team. Blowing multiple 2 goal leads.

Mantha out 4 to 6 weeks with hand injury

Maybe glass hands should stop fighting if he's going to get hurt everytime.
  8. When do we start the #whenwillFransNielsenscore twitter account?
  9. My Wings fandom started with a loss to the Leafs in the playoffs on a Borchefsky goal. It could only go up from there.
  10. Juggernaut. Thats all. Have a nice night.

    2018-19 Season Lines Thread

100 % agree with this. We have had guys playing back there this year who have no business playing those kind of minutes. Injuries have forced us to play these guys but realistically the only one I think would've started in Detroit if we were injury free was Cholowski. We have some bad contracts, every team has some. Good news is that we should get some relief at the end of this year. Howard, Kronwall, Nyquist and Vanek will come off the books and will hopefully be replaced with more fiscal options.
  12. Wings win 7-5. AA with 6 goals and Kronwall with the other. One thing I can guarantee is multiple stupid looks on #fireblashills face .
  13. If we are trying to change the culture of this franchise lets get it done. I'm almost 40 and have never been naive enough to think these times would't come eventually. They are here. I do think this team has enough talent up front at least to be competitive every night. Our D is a mess. We are asking guys who clearly aren't ready to step up. A couple of these guys are at best AHL/3rd pair NHL caliber. We've got a GM ( who i've always supported ) who is clearly ready to put Detroit in the rear view and move on to Seattle or retirement. Let's think outside the god damn box for once and get Stevie Y in here. Let Holland stay with the team in some capacity until his next phase and lets go. Blashill needs to go, lets start fresh. He has no adaptability, no feel for this lineup and I'm tired of watching him with that stupid look on his face. At this point I'd be fine with Bylsma taking over this team but really we need to go outside the organization and find a coach. I'll handle the losing because for the last 25 years I've been spoiled with one of the best franchises in pro sports but as a fan it's hard to tolerate terrible organizational decisions.

10/11 GDT - Maple Leafs at Red Wings - 7:30 PM ET

Kronwall is old and slow I get it but if we want any of these young forwards to have a chance we need some guys who can move the puck. Kronwall can move the puck. He's always been a good passer. I'm all for having young guys in the lineup and I've given into the fact it's happening right in front of my face but these young guys can't get better on their own. Green, Kronwall, Daley and even ( I cringe) Ericcson will help these guys along. Abby is in no mans land right now. He could be a very effective 3/4th line checker but he's paid like a guy who should score 20 goals. Won't happen. Jimmy isn't getting traded. He's in the last year of his deal and he will probably be gone at the end of the year unless a team has emergency goalie issues. Nyquist better start doing something quick or he's going to end up on the bench, he's been totally invisible and isn't really tradeable unless we Vegas wants to make a Tatar deal again There are a million Glendennings out there. Could care less either way about that guy.

We are just a terrible passing team. It's horrible. Short passes. Nope. Long passes. Nope.

    10/7 GDT - Red Wings @ Kings - 10:30 PM EST

If Ehn is going to stay up can we please move him up to the 3rd line and have Abdelkader down to the 4th with Helm and Glen. One of the keys to this season is going to be Kenny's ability to move Helm or Abdlekader at the deadline which probably will never happen because both have been here forever and Abby is from Michigan. Love these guys, love what they've done for the franchise but neither of them are very good.

Are you leveling us ? This guy literally had no chance of making this team and played himself right onto it.

Mike Green Officially Signed *Mod Warning Page 4*

You can't just say " take away the PP points". Green is good on the PP and generates points from it. Daley isn't and doesn't. Different skill sets.

    Vanek Signs 1yr. $3M

The guy gets points falling out of bed in the morning. He will be good for 40-50. Price is right. Term is right. Onward

    Boqvist

You don't have to be an expert these days to know that an 18 year old kid who has had 2 concussions is now considered high risk to get more. It's open knowledge for everyone. Stop sounding like Roger Goodell. I don't claim to be an expert by any means. Hell I coach minor hockey but we are required to take concussion courses before the season starts and all the information is laid out right there for us. Even with 9 and 10 year old kids we don't mess around with it. If we think they rang their bell we keep them off the ice, they go to the clinic and if a doctor even remotely thinks the kid has symptoms hes out a minimum 2 weeks and then reassessed. For the sake of Boqvist I obviously hope he doesn't have concussions issues and wherever he plays whether it's Detroit or somewhere else I hope he has a long healthy career. That being said I take Hughes or Bouchard over him at this point.

    Boqvist

Bruised goods? At this point I would rather draft a kid who just had knee surgery this spring than draft a young kid who has had more than 1 concussion.
  22. puckbags

    Boqvist

Of course it does. It's common knowledge that the more concussions you've had the higher the RISK of getting another one. That's CTE 101 More than ever? He has concussion issues. You can still want him, hell I want him but I wouldn't take him at 6.

    Boqvist

He was the guy I hoped we got but at that age with two concussions I would be steering clear. Hughes is who I would love to see unless anyone projected above him doesn't get taken.
