  1. This is just another example of people who can't hold their stupid emotinoal b.s. in and talk a big game without doing anything. Just about all these people are going to be tuning in on the TV or going to games live, like always.

If these people actually have the guts to follow through, good for them.

If not, shut up and calm down and grow up. As much as I'd like to see guys like Nyquist and Tatar secure permanent roles, re-siging Cleary isn't the worst thing in the world. Those people should be embarssed at how pitiful they are acting.

  2. Last year you have to kinda throw out the window with Samuelsson being injured so match.

At the time, definitely seemed like a decent signing. Nothing earth shattering, but the amount of flak he takes is pretty absurd at times. At the time, couldn't have really predicted if some of the younger guys would have really stepped up in the immediate short term to produce, Nyquist, Andersson, Tatar, etc.

With some of the younger guys showing their potential last season, Samuelsson, and Bertuzzi as well, are at a crossroads where they're going to have to be fighting for playoff time.

That being said too much forward depth/experience isn't a bad problem to have.

  3. Just keep at it whatever you do and you'll eventually see results.

I run probably 4-5 times a week, I now run a couple times a month, and I do CrossFit sessions nearly every day. Granted I'll admit I likely put in more time exercising and working out than most - not intending to make it sound like bragging even though it make look that way - it's just one of my favorite things to do outside of my job and I try to make time for it nearly every day. Everybody's situation is obviously different but hopefully you can make time for it as well.

I'll be running in two marathons next year. There are also a variety of competitions that are more CrossFit related - I did one in the summer locally/regionally here - nothing planned in that regard but people I work out with could tie me into those if I'm needed (i.e. team competitions).

I often wear myself out with so much work and am too stubborn for my own good sometimes not resting as much as I should, but I enjoy it, it's worth it to me.

As for my figure, I'm about 5'7" and 140 lbs.

  4. Not really understanding the deal here since Cleary hasn't re-signed with the team and that likely isn't happening soon or at all.

Not sure how Tootoo plays in this mix as well since you likely have one Grand Rapids player that if he plays well is likely going to have a lot of playing time up here to start in Tomas Tatar.

With Cleary, it always amused me how much s**t he took on how people went off the deep end on him. Always busted his tail off and nevermind that he was the second leading scorer in the playoffs for the team this past season.

  5. They do the same thing, every fan base does it. Guess what, the players and teams do it too!

What fun would it be if the wings are winning a playoff series and I can't taunt/mock the opposing teams fans for whining, and their team being babies?

If you're prepared to take it back just as much, by all means do so.
Getting into other fan bases isn't my deal. I get it, I understand rivalries and all that jazz.
We've seen plenty gams where refs played too much of a role where the Wings were on the losing end. It'll happen again at some point, as well as the Hawks like last night or any other team, whenever those game may be. Telling other fans that they are sour pusses though about officiating is rich when we've been sour about it plenty as well.
Which is why I stay out of the blaming referees for a loss game as much as possible. It's a cop-out excuse.

  6. I disagree. It's fun to rip on their fans... it's also therapeutic and helps to heal our wounds inflicted by all the Holmstrom interference and no goal calls.

Also... someone should tell Micky how stupid he is to "whine" about bad call's.... that idiot.

It may be fun, but it's hypocritical beyond the max for when the next time you or one of our fans whine about officiating and trying to justify about why in our case it's okay to do so.

  7. It happend to them 1 game last night. That's my point

Just because it might have happened to them 1 game (and it's probably happened to them more - just like any other team) doesn't make it any more right to yank on their fans when our fan base would be throwing the same hissy fit. Whining about the refs is stupid no matter how much/little they have too much of an influence.

    Those are my points.

  8. Not against the idea but like the majority here, unless injuries strike, keep the guys that have been successful in the recent past.

You can definitely make a case for if he should be played over Bertuzzi and Samuelsson given their limited playing time this season, but I don't think you can make a case for him over the current lineup.

  9. Haha, all this bitching about Smith. Does anyone remember Kronwalls play from 05-07? He was a turnover machine, and made dumb decisions with the puck. But he grew, and then established himself a solid #3 in 07-08, and the rest is history. How about Ericsson? He was dreadful for 2 and half seasons, and now he's our shut down defenseman #2/3. Defenseman take longer to develop, Smith is learning at the best time of the year, the playoffs. He's gonna be fine.

    Bingo.

He's been extremely noticable on both the good and bad for better/worse.

Given it's his first season of playoff action, I'll take it. The good has been outweighing the bad.

  10. Well they can't admit we are outworking them, so they have to put the blame somewhere. When in doubt, question the officiating.

Hawk fans need to stop whinning

Yall make it sound like people in here haven't done the same. There have been plenty crybabies about the officiating in here in the past, myself included. You can write a novel on it if you dug deep long enough for posts in here. Same in pretty much any fan forum.
Flip the teams in reverse with the interference/no-goal call, I guarantee the majority in here throws a hissy fit, understandably so.
The officiating was terrible for both teams last game. Did the better team ultimately win last night? I think so, but officials played a bigger hand than necessary in determining the outcome. Like anybody else, I don't like when that occurs.
With that said, I've learned that despite that stuff there it is stupid in using the officials as a scapegoat in the result. Fans of ANY TEAM shoud drop the officiaiting stinks card.
There's no point to it. Is it right that there is the potential/risk for bad officiating like this? No. But given that we've seen this so much over the years (i.e. Holmstrom no goals alone due to interference), why should we expect anything different anytime soon?

  11. Crawford kept them in that game last night when it could've easily went downhill even more for the Hawks in the 2nd period.

Thankfully Howard has outplayed him a little bit more and been the better of the 2 goalies but to say Crawford hasn't been doing his job so far and giving the Hawks a chance to win is pretty ridiculous.

  12. I'm not bashing Crawford. He's sort of in the same boat as Jimmy. Hasn't won anything yet. In particular a Stanley Cup.

And btw games 1 and 2 were different for both goalies and teams. Only similar stat was the score.

So flip the goalie name and team I don't buy it.

    Gotcha.
I actually agreed with you, I was just terrible in being clear about it.
Works both ways. In one way like you describe it, absolutely neither have proven anything. Completely agree. At the same time, while pretty much the majority in here get what Howard has meant to the team this season, it should go the same way with Crawford as well. True the Hawks all but walked to a #1 seed in the playoffs, but Crawford didn't get his numbers and production in the regular season and playoffs so far by mistake, he certainly played his part as well.
