Absolutely agree that there isn't always a correlation to success in juniors translating to the NHL but the fact is we haven't had a prospect dominate in juniors like this in a long time and the big knock on Mantha last year was that he could have just been a flash in the pan. But he has shown huge strides in his game this season.

Fun fact! Jonathan Drouin who was selected 3rd overall last year had 105 points in 49 games last season. Anthony Mantha has played 49 games so far this season and has how many points??....ding ding ding 105 points! This guy is going to go down as a steal at the 20th overall selection.

Mantha was first star of the week again with 5 goals and 4 assists in 3 games and now has 97 points in 44 games. This guy would have been a top 5 pick this year if he wasn't drafted by the wings last year. Anyone else as excited as I am about this kid?

From everything I've heard, the gold medal in hockey is the event Russia wants to win most. Which means Pavel Datsyuk being the captain could have more pressure than any other Russian Olympian. Starts to make you understand why he has been taking extra time to get healthy before getting back on the ice.

I'm going to feel bad for the top seeds in the east. Work hard all season to earn a top spot and then have to face a Detroit team that is finally healthy and has loads of playoff experience in the first round. We could easily surprise some people with the depth we have at forward and hopefully picking up a d-man at the trade deadline.

It's all about ratings. Most people that watch are Football or basketball fans. That being said im sure as hell know more than 2.7% of their viewing audience watch hockey. -

It makes me laugh when people talk about the physicality difference between East and West. People make the West sound like a bunch of Justin Beibers skate around slapping each other. Sure the East may have a few more "physical" players but it's not like Western Conference teams are playing no-check hockey. We will be fine in he East...people need to stop worrying.
