I like the fact that Holland at least put an effort in getting Schultz and made his interests public. At least it shows he isnt in his office playing Solitaire. I guess i'm a little more optimistic for his commitment to signing UFA's this year.

Schultz will go to Edmonton and even with all that young talent they still wont make the playoffs this year.

or in a long time....all that young talent will soon price themselves out of Edmonton and then they will still suck...

Im starting to get worried about Holland...should we send a police officer over to his office to see if he is still alive...maybe call his mother....maybe waking up and realizing he is paying ericsson 3.25 million dollars gave him a heart attack

Personally it doesn't matter if we do get him or not. The wings problem last season was never scoring, but rather their defense and injury problems. They were second in league scoring only scoring one goal less than Vancouver. They need to focus less on getting another big scorer and more on fixing our blatant holes on defense. We won alot of games last year but it seemed that we were always winning games 5-4 instead of 3-1. If they get jagr, fine but Kenny needs to get two solid defensemen instead of throwing money at a guy like Richards. The wings offense will be fine this year if they can stay healthy especially since all the injuries we have had over the past two seasons (and there have been alot!) have made it very difficult for any lines to build any chemistry come playoff time.
That being said, Jagr had a quote saying he still has a house in pittsburgh because he was too lazy to sell it. If he is too lazy to sell a house, is he going to have the work ethic for this team?

@Real_ESPNLeBrun Folks, I said the NHL HOPES to release sked tomorrow, but that doesn't mean it will be tomorrow for sure.

Oh yea and done tours and everything. We have to wait for the schedule so we know for sure when there is not a game

I've been reading alot of different forums online and no one seems to have any idea when the schedule for next season is being released. I'm trying to plan a wedding at the Joe next season and need the schedule to choose a date. Has anyone heard anything?

I don't think Holland will waste much time pursuing Richards. Let's not forget that even though many people bash the likes of Hudler or Fill, the wings had the second best offense in the league last year (only scoring one less goal than Vancouver) but had the worst goals against out of any playoff team. Instead of paying 8 mill for another forward, it makes sense to try to solidify a defense that was completely lacking last season let alone the fact that Rafalski is gone. I think the only way Richards is wearing a wings jersey is if he takes a pay cut and wants to be in detroit (similar to what hull and Lucky Luke did in 2002).
