    Nyquist Files For Arbitration

Not sure if this will effect Nyqist's deal but Evgeny Kuznetsov just signed a 2 year $6 million deal with the Caps. I don't know much about him but what I do know is he has only scored 14 goals in the NHL regular season. $3 million cap hit seems kinda high. Makes me think Nyquist can ask for the moon.

What would you give up for Malkin?

No need to sign Crosby, he's signed until 2025 I think.

    ESPN-KHL Deal in the Works?

If you click on the "Sports" drop down list on the ESPN 3/Watch ESPN site, Ice Hockey is not even an option. Only Field Hockey. wtfuuuuu

    ESPN-KHL Deal in the Works?

All I see on ESPN 3 is soccer. The game should be on now, is anyone watching it?

Help from my fellow Wings fans!

Speaking of streaming the games, when I lived in Arizona I had to stream them all the time and sometimes I would get the 'Stadium Feed'. Anyone else ever come across this one? There would be no commercials and you would listen to our announcers when there were supposed to be commercial breaks. Redmond would complain about the ref's calls and Larry Murphy would run through the highlight they were going to show when they came back from commercial. It took me about the whole first period before I figured out what was going on. I don't remember the site though, bummer.

IF there is a lockout, where will our players likely end up?

The real question for me is there any way of getting access to the Swedish and Russian hockey leagues (among others) via internet? Paid or unpaid. Is there a Center Ice package for other leagues? How will I get my hockey fill???

    Perry and Getzlaf

I like this guy QFT Anyway, some people (on HFBoards) seem to think that Filppula's trade value is not as high as it could be due to the fact that he is going to be a Free Agent next year. Do you guys think this same logic would apply to Perry or Getzlaf and we could possibly get one for slightly cheaper than market value or is the fact that Anaheim is still very high on them that it would still take a lot to get one of the two?

Another option - Wait for 2013

I agree, I think we will all be surprised with how well our young unproven guys will play at the NHL level during the course of a full season. It's true that it wouldn't hurt to get another top 6 player at Filppula's age either. It's good to have some old, young, and in betweens.

    Semin

I really hope you are right about a few teams dumping some contracts that we could get for cheaper than market value. In my mind, if we do go after Semin, it should just be a temporary deal. He could take a page out of Hossa's book and sign a few one year deals before going after the long one. Although, who knows what the new CBA will bring in terms of contracts.

    Semin

Or.. we can can sit on the money and wait until next year. I'm kidding. We sat on the money last off season, it appears we will sit on the money this season. I agree with you though, why don't we sign him to a one year deal at the price he likes (providing it is not outrageous) and we will still have a bunch of cap space come next off season. So, we sign Semin for a one year deal, he goes on the road and kills to opposition's defense with the help of Datsuyk, and he comes back to Detroit before we even knew he left. Tell me how this is not a good plan.

Oh Matt, you sounded like Dirty Harry just then.

    Holland waiting for the CBA?

I really hope this is true. I thought that if the cap decreases, so too will everyone's contract. So teams that are right at the cap will still be right at the new cap, the player salaries will just be lower (same percentage of the cap though). Would this not be the case?

This is a slightly more updated article regarding Brunnstrom from MLive.

Brunnstrom Update - Expects to sign new 1-yr 2-way deal

The only thing his two-way deal relates to is his salary at the AHL level. He still has to pass through waivers (although he did last year without anyone claiming him) to get sent back down to GR.

    Semin

I thought I read somewhere (impossible to find it again because I have read so many blogs/articles/twitter messages in the past few days) that Doan's agent was soliciting officers - not just from Detroit- in order to use a leverage in his talks with the Coyotes. I hope this is not true and he wants to sign with Detroit.
  25. From the Edmonton Journal in regards to Renney and Edmonton's special teams while he was coach: I think we will really like what he will do to our special teams.
