Bertuzzi made the 2011-12 season for me, his shootout goals were among some of the most euphoric hockey moments I ever experienced, especially in the later stages of the home winning streak. I think he still got a few barrels left and he will be firing on all cylinders, provided he can dodge the injuries.

Reading some of the hate and rage targeted towards Alfredsson on the Ottawa board left me wondering. Would we have reacted the same way had Lidstrom pulled something like that?

It's uncanny for me that so many people immediately said Paver Bure. I became interested in and fascinated by the NHL when I was 10 and got hooked on NHL 2000. I chose Detroit as my team purely because I loved their jersey, but Pavel Bure was my favorite player, only because I loved his name and the way he looked. Since then whenever a new NHL game came out, the first thing I did was that I traded him to Detroit and put him on a line with Yzerman and Fedorov. It was always a dream of mine that it would happen in real life. There was no rhyme or reason behind it, maybe just that Russians and the Red Wings went along so nicely. Anyway, it's nice to know I wasn't alone.

Maybe, but I doubt it's that simple. A contract is usually a complicated thingy which has to be respected by both parties. Makes me wonder.

How can Ovi stay in the KHL when he has that monster of a contract? Will Dynamo buy it out?

I think a presentation about the last 20 something years of the Wings would be interesting, mentioning how they managed to recover from the "Dead Wings" era with the leadership of Yzerman, the Stanley Cups, the playoff streak, the Russian Five, the Konstantinov-incident, the rivalry and brawls with the Colorado Avalanche, the back to back finals with the Penguins, lots of interesting stuff to choose from.

Um, they make millions because they generate an even bigger income for their clubs/record labels/film studios. Duh.

The Wings have absolutely the best looking uniform, hands down. That's why I fell in love with them as a kid.

We just lost Lidstrom, I won't be ready to lose Dats in 2 years.

Datsyuk's late goal vs. Nashville was the highlight of the last season for me and the perfect way to set an NHL record.

I'd love to see another Russian to play with Datsyuk and they were phenomenal with Semin at the World Cup.

One of my favorite tweaks in NHL 12 is that the puck doesn't get stuck to your player when you wind up for a slap shot like in NHL 11, instead it becomes loose and you might end up slapping the air if you wait for too long.

Huh? Anybody with a pair of eyes or even a single eye could see that Datsyuk would have been a sharp fit. (#13 - NHL 13, duh). Sure, fans always vote for their own players, but the Datsyuk cover would've looked the best by far. Anybody can get on the cover in the future, but this was the best, most appropriate time for Pasha. Don't pull a Captain Obvious on me.

While I'm okay with both Rinne and Giroux, I think Datsyuk was so fitting for this year's cover, that he is the only one who 'should' be there.

I would love that! He'd at least be reunited with Stevie Y. We also didn't win a cup without McCarty since 1955...

They sidelined Joseph for him, so I don't think Joey would be much of a problem. As much as I think he's a great backup, it would be stunning to see the old Dominator in a Red Wings jersey again. I'm all for it, but if he ends up somewhere else, it's still cool.

#13 for NHL 13, it's meant to be. That said, we all gotta be clutch on voting at the finals, Giroux (or maybe Malkin) will be a tough nut to crack.
