ECF - (4) Boston Bruins vs. (1) Pittsburgh Penguins
frankgrimes replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Although I really hate both, it's just LOL, I am sur the media, uncle NHL and all the other Pens bandwagoners are still shocked now. Totally worth trading away the future for some scrubs *rofl* -
Which UFA would help the Wings the most?
frankgrimes replied to TheDetroitRedWings's topic in General
Clarkson, reasons already mentioned so if Holland needs to overpay to get him, just do it the guy will be worth it. -
If the Wings think, they can go into the east without an enforcer, good luck it would be suicide. Guys like Lucic, Orr, Thornton, MacLaren, Prust, Scott would have a lot of fun doing cheapshots against our stars and not facing any consequences on the ice. So signing one of the top HW guys has to be a priority. Bickell is physical but he stands no chance against any of these guys. I don't care if people think it is a wasted roster spot, an enforcer adds way more than just the time of the ice. He provides security, confidence and makes everyone growing a few inches just because they are there. It's a little bit like the big brother thing. Tootoo is a pest/agitator and not an enforcer, so basically a useless guy in the east because he will have to answer against guys way out of his class in terms of size and fighting skills. So I think something along the lines of Clarkson, Scott + 1 defender has to be on Hollands agenda. Bickell is NOT an enforcer, he is just big and willing to drop the gloves.

Give Babcock such a stacked roster and I'll bet you the team becomes a dynasty. Hopefully, there is no question in regards about how the Wings have to play in the east. The team needs to get bigger, tougher, meaner. Hate to say it, but just look at the way Toews is playing since Bickell created room for him. Sometimes a players worth to their team is way more than just looking at a scoresheet.

I'd rather see the Kings repeat, than the archnemesis winning another title! I don't care about the back to back cups history, I just don't want to see the Hawks or Pens win. Also wouldn't be happy with the Bruins, because I hate Brad Marchand, their bullymentality so the Kings are my obvious choice. They are playing hockey the way it is supposed to be played, hard, physical and defensive minded, Hawks are just a run andgun team with ridiculous talent. If I had to choose between evil 1 and evil 2 I'd rather see the Crysby team win than the damn Hawks, although I still respect Toews, Hossa and would we willing to give up a lot for their number 1 pairing...

Sadly it is not just someone but Garys bff boy and team, so nothing will happen. If the league wants save face Cooke needs to be shown the door. Since that will not happen, Cryuins will continue their antics. -
Why I like the reasons you have mentioned, personally I feel it is just too soon talking about signing guys from the damn Hawks, although they would help. Clarkson has to be priority number 1 this off season.

I highly doubt, Crysby would pull that stuff without the refs being in the way. It was so hilarious, he tried to shove Chara and he just stood there laughing Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using Tapatalk 2 -

Wonder, if he would pull of such a move without the refs against Chara? Malkin being the dirty jackass once again, despite Engelland the Pens don't have any tough guys to match the Bruins physicality so maybe its better to be have better, crybabies Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using Tapatalk 2 -

If they don't give him a bank cheque and let him fill in the number (years + salary) I ll be heavily disappointed. Don't lowball Pasha guy is a magician with the puck and an all heart player so glad he wants to stay. Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using Tapatalk 2 -

http://kuklaskorner.com/tmr/comments/dont-expect-red-wings-gm-ken-holland-to-set-the-world-on-fire-with-a-dozen?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter Well my fears are coming true, this may not be the best UFA group ever but there are some gems, which could help the Wings obviously the biggest piece is Clarkson but also guys like Ryder, Horton at a good pricetag would make sense. Also at least one 1 spot has to be open for a big enforcer, Wings are going to face Orr, MacLaren, Thornton, Lucic, Chara, Clowe and Prust so I think a guy like Scott is a must-sign addition. At least make room for the young guys and get rid off Bertuzzi, Samuelson, Filps, White . So this quote has me worried a bit, the Wings are one of the richest teams in the league why not use the money to their advantage?

Lucic is a fan-favourite if they trade him the Boston garden would be way more empty than it already is. Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using Tapatalk 2

It may not be the best comparison but I honestly think, Tyler Bozak from the Toronto Maple Leafs is similar to #51 in many ways. Both can provide some offense if they are paired with topline-guys, but other than that they don't add much to the lineup. To me this is not enough to justify 5 mill per year average. If Holland could get him to sign for 3,5 or 4 then maybe but even at that pricetag I think there are better options outthere. One can argue, that Clarkson is not your typical top 6 guy, this may be the true but he is an unbelievable depth player, who can play topline minutes and also help to add some muscle and physicality to a 3rd line -->giving Babcock plenty of options. Since people for whatever reason hate Scott so much, how aboout MacLaren or Colton Orr? One simple can not go into the East without having an enforcer in the lineup, also Bordelau from the Avs would be a great addition. How bout Regehr as a shutdown guy? Also Shattenkirk would be a great option, I don't think the Blues ownership is as commited to their team as the best owner in all of sports is, so maybe they can't keep Shattenkirk and Pietrangelo and both are in for huge raises (Pietrangelo easily 7+ per). At a hometown discount this might be an option for the third line, but other than that thanks put no Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using Tapatalk 2

Bickell does not put as much fear into the opponents as Scott does. That said Horton, Scott and Clarkson would improve the Wings in term of toughness . I dont want Bickell, because he WAS one of the reasons whz this team lost against the Hawks... Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using Tapatalk 2

Mark my words Richards alongside Callahan and Hank are going to have huge bouncback years next season. The Rangers system in a nutshell: Phase 1 block shots Phase 2 ? Phase 3 profit
-
Bickell? Bryan Bickell? The guy who played a huge part in knocking the Wings off? Wings had nobody to match his physicality and now you want ot bring him in? I doubt this would sit well within the lockerroom.
-
Way to go Danny get healthy soon, a great RedWing for sure just often tasked with stuff that was too much for him.
-
Highly doubtful TSN is easily the best one outthere, they have Dreger, MacKenzie, LeBrun, Ward, Duthie and so much other great stuff they don't need this jackass. Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using Tapatalk 2
