What a game or should I say show Gibson put on? Canada looked liked they've gone drinking yesterday for almost two periods.

What a great hockeygame this will be, so glad to see the perfect human one more time outthere. I am sure the arena is already packed with fans and decked in red and blue white! Thanks to the supreme NHL for making that possible, you really care about the fans.........

NHL submits offer to NHLPA - **Suspension Warning Post #70 & #273*
frankgrimes replied to Jedi's topic in General
well if its not coming from the real sources I hardly care about it. From my point of view I still think, both sides will need a lot more meetings before the lockout ends. I'd like to see something like 7 years contract length 65 m cap for the first year and go from there (up!) UFA ...staying the same CBA duration 8 years with both sides having an outclause -
Well I guess the final will be Canada Russia, would have loved one between some underdogs like Fins against Swiss :-) Anyway, Canadas allstar lineup is an impressive one if everyone is healthy, this is a team on a mission.

NHL submits offer to NHLPA - **Suspension Warning Post #70 & #273*
frankgrimes replied to Jedi's topic in General
Not getting my hopes up, but it at least seems that both sides have stopped the PR crap and are finally reading the proposals. Even if the lockout ends this week, it would mean at least 4 weeks till the season can start so thats at least 1.02.12 btw. the layout is messed up if you are not signed in -
LOL the Stanley Cup presentation will be a seea of boos this year. I think this time fans are really angry and wont be back easily.

NHL submits offer to NHLPA - **Suspension Warning Post #70 & #273*
frankgrimes replied to Jedi's topic in General
The players are not on strike, they are locked out. This offer while a starting point, is just a "at least we did something one". I think the NHL is fearing a soon all players are UFA market and now they are desperate to get a deal done. If the PA is coming back with a fair offer and the NHL doesn't walk out after 10 minutes there might be a chance for a season if not, I think we'll see two more rounds of cancellations but after that... Next year all players would be UFAs so a big big day for the Wings :-) I'll expect a team gunning for the cup instead of the playoffs. -
Report: If season is saved, Columbus and Winnipeg swap for realignment
frankgrimes replied to rrasco's topic in General
How dare that would be an easy solution something which will never happen in the NHL -
I think he is refering to the changed schedule = less rest for the Wings and MORE for the Pens. Yes, the Pens deserved to win but the schedule was an absolute blowjob by the league.

a.) a borderline top pairing but a great 2 defenseman just like White b.) I think worse Kronwall is playing his best with an average to slightly above average TOI c.) Yes he is but he really needs to use his body more often we need him to be a physical presense d.) 15g 16a 31p a.) close to it b.) 7 years 28m c.) I would he is really coming into his own and getting better every year d.) Datysuk's Wing a.) top 15 but he needs to show and prove it without the perfect human b.) Yes,but the whole team will so hardly a big deal c.) ~3,75 m d.) Depends if Miller/Lundquist become avaiable.
-
I'd rather see us going after a defenseman.

From my understanding Yakupov was interviewed by a Russian newspaper, so either something has been lost during the translation or he really meant it. In terms of hockey I think Canada vs Russia is a nice war *g* Yeah but he still did learn the NA way of hockey in the CHL. Maybe I am in the minority here but I love such PR stunts, maybe the WJ will gain some attention I like the tournament.

Hudler takes a skate to the neck, goes to hospital -- not serious
frankgrimes replied to Jersey Wing's topic in General
I hate the combination of "neck + blade" glad Hudler had more than one guardian angel get well soon ! -
While I fully agree with you, you can't forget some other facts: - exihibition game - repeat offender I am sure if this would have been the first time, he would have gotten away with a minor maybe(!) major penalty but thats about it.
-
Well I am sure both media sites are trying to create something out of nothing here. Yakupov made some comments and Cherry replied to it thats all. The game will for sure be decided by the better defensive team, Canada's lockout line was insane against Germany but the first true test will be against the USA, if they beat this team easily too then Russia is going to have a very hard time overcoming the Canadians.
-
So you don't even know the difference between the two topics, nothing to discuss here. Don't paste something I haven't typed into my post. The next time either try harder or know the topic you are talking about.
-
Cherry is a proud Canadian and an incredible smart hockeymind Yakupov been thaught NA hockey in Canada (taking away the spot from a Canadian kid) and to thank them for it he is calling the Canadian hockey team dirty. So how is anything that Cherry has said wrong? He is damn right here, not to knock on Yakupov for sure a fantastic player but Cherry with the homerun :-)
-
Gotta love Cherry he's the man never afraid to stand up for his countrymen, way to go. I always have to laugh at comments like the Canadians are playing cheap/dirty, no they are not. Canadian hockey is a mixture between skill and physicality "playing on the edge type of style" Someone better tell Yakupov and Company that Jenner will also be back for that game.

Players That Never Played in Detroit
frankgrimes replied to Bring Back The Bruise Bros's topic in General
I always wanted Pronger S. Niedermayer Pair one of these guys with Lidström and our first pairing basically would have been unreal. -
Well the guy is a repeat offender, it was an exihibition game so I think the suspensions is warranted.
-
I agree, thats why I've have mentioned Smith and Nyquist before everone else. Both these guys are going to be at least for sure NHLers most of the other guys like Jarnkrok, Jurco and even Tatar are your typical late round b or b type of prospects. I am hardly worried about our goaltending, the Monster given a real chance will surprise a lot of people if Howard struggles. Not giving up on McCollum yet, even if he just becomes a backup having a reliable backup is hardly a bad thing. but yeah despite S & N Holland will need to build through draft and UFAs soon.
-
Seeing the enemy lifting the cup in your building always stings a lot, but I'd go with the 21995 loss, even if it's really really close. I absolutely hated the game, league even weeks after the 2009 finals!
-
Like every year Canada is the destinated favorite and this time even by a landslide their is virtually an allstar u20 team. Their only questionmark is going to be goaltending other than that, they are insanely loaded on every position. I think Russia and Sweden are their biggest opponents, with some chances for the USA and maybe Swiss squad too. I don't thinkk Finland is going to repeat their great run but you'll never know. Really looking forward to this thing, I love seeing some future nhl stars as young guns.
-
Well they are playing with fire and don't even realize it. Once sponsors are getting rightfully pissed off maybe then the whole leaguer will come down to planet earth and get a dose of reality. How about 0,.3 instead of 3.3 ?!
