Thats so horrible, I hope he will have many outstanding season in front of him he is only 28, keep fighting !
-
I have never been high on Tatar, Kindl, Mursak. Axelsson had some really great tools but lacks work ethic, discipline and skating. Despite Smith, Nyquist there is not much guaranteed NHL quality in the minors sad but true.
-
Well so 14.1.2012 I guess there will be another round of cancellations, after that they are going to call off the season I'd guess. Whatever this league does deserve everything it will get, whenever they are back. Greedy billionaires and their puppets are never satisfied.
-
The funny part about this: We're only hearing about the problems and how bad they are, when the CBA is up other than that the league is always thriving and bringing in record numbers. Go figure something is obviosuly wrong here. But if both sides are really that stupid and blow the second season in 7 years away screw them all.

When again did Detroit buy a cup? Thef****** best owner in all of sports provided just what is needed to ice a great team i.e. the 2002 Wings, may I remind you that teams like Toronto, New York did have similar if not higher payrolls back then? Would I kick out Z? Hell no but Malkin would be an absolute beast on Datsyuks line so Z might become a second line center but still the next captain of the team and a Wing for life. I'd probably keep the following: Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Helm, Filpulla go extremely! hard after Miller and then try to sign Toews, Stamkos, Letang, Weber and bring in McGrattan and maybe 2 other in your face guys who can play too. This would easily become a team to be feared in terms of skill, grit and its toughness. Having Miller backstopping infront of an unbelievable Weber/Letang dand then Kronwall/White pairing would be absolutely insane, not to mention our center depth with 3 guys all able to play topline minutes and wow your with their skill. God I so hope decertification happens.

I'd love it not only would this lead to the end of a guy, who has destroyed hockey for almost 2 decades, no also the best owner in all of sports could finally ice a great team again. Sure the play it poor owners and some wellfare teams would need to relocate/fold but in the long run, this would be the best hockey ever loaded teams with great player development systems are fighting it out! Also this would ensure, we'd never have a lockout again so sure a certain guy does fear it because it will be the long overdue nail in getting him fired and the NHL back on track.

Wow the NHL is just nutts, which side has been walking out of the meetings, because didn't like the counter proposals nor read it? Yes, the NHL Which side started this negotiations with an absolute screw you offer? The NHL Which side has kept a guy responsible for 3 lockouts, franchise gambles and questionable TV deals? The BOG (NHL) What was the players fault? Starting negotiations too late Accepting a player/owners meeting while having the Bruins guy in the same room. So 5 points, 3 are going easily to the NHL two to the players. As long as there aren't massive changes in the BOG and a new commissioner, someone who can protect the integrity trust between both sides will be at an alltime low point. Keep in mind the players wanted to play and negotiate while playing, the courts are going to look at that, the league itself said no and started with an embarrassing offer! Both sides already agreed on the money just not this stupid contract rights and rightfully so, 5 years hardly provides player safety or longtime planning.
-
Well "all" implied the majority not some super pro owner people..........
-
Hopefully the courts are ruling the right way, since we all know which side has done nothing but bad negotiating since this whole process started.

When players, fans and even owners are sick of the guy who is running the show it is time for a change. The NHL and NHLPA don't trust each other they aren't even meeting eye to eye anymore, so the best thing to do would be a restart and therefore bring in a commissioner, who at least understands the game and isn't focused on gambles in non hockeymarkets. Also I'd love to see some play it poor owners getting their asses handed to them once the cap is gone and owners who are willing to spend are icing great teams again.
-
I hope the PA is really going the decertification or disclaimer of interest route so a certain guy will have seen his last lockout and go eff off another league. The players, fans and I am sure some owners are sick of him. The NHL never intended to negotiate in good faith, like Crosby said there only negotiating has been our way or the highway. Players would be stupid to give up money and contract-rights, not gonna happen. I am sure Goodenow would have already signed a deal so I am glad Fehr is running the show now. While not without any blame he has done a masterful job so far.

Loool this is really turning into a gongshow, Sent from my BlackBerry

I heavily and respectfully disagree, sorry. Unless both sides are seeing a massive dropoff in fan interest and therefore lost merchandise, attendance we're going through this crap every 5 years. A message needs to be send to both parties and on top of that, this time even the hockeysupermad markets like Toronto and Montreal have stopped to care, usually this should ring a bell in the ears of Fehr and Bettman, but I highly doubt. Never take a person for granted, it is the same with your girlfriend if you take her for granted chances are you are going to lose her, the NHL does the same thing. They believe fans will be back whenever they decide to come down to earth, meanwhile other leagues are starting or getting closer to the playfoffs and fans are pissed -> a gamble I wouldn't bet on. The MLB had to learn it the hard way, so will the NHL.
-
Don Fehr introducing a luxury tax would make him a god amongst players and fans, to me it'd be well worth it! LT is so much better than the stupid cap. In the end the NHL might not even have a choice if they continue to throw the PA under the bus, they are going to decertify or pursh hard for a luxury tax.
-
Well I think the real issue here is, that we have two negotiators who want to win first and thats why I blame BOTH sides. This is not about winning a battle it should be about getting hockey back on track by giving and taking from both sides. I really thought the PA offer would have been a starting point, sadly it was not. I mean the NHL wants 5 % the PA 25 % why not meet at 15 % (either is giving up 10 %) Same with contract lenght PA 8 years, NHL 5 years meet at 7? It is really mind boggling how stubborn both parties are at this point. Let's be honest here, they have already agreed on the money terms are they really going to cancel a season because of such minor crap? If so screw the owners, players and everyone involved.
-
Well the job of a coach is to push the players, still remembering when Babs literally wanted to eat the freaking Avs coach alive after the Lidström hit. Wow did he look like a man on a mission.
-
Exactly the point, as long as the same old bastards are being in charge and running the stupid BOG there will be another lockout. Some of the owners are a greedy as hell bunch, they will always ask for more. Want evidence for that? PA agreed to a split and then the NHL created their ridiculous contract restrictions, they are nev er happy and will lose every tactic to get their will. So unless the NHL is seeing a huge drop in revenue and half empty arenas, they are going the lockout street every 5 years.
-
Wow thats great, god I'd love meeting the best coach in hockey.
-
That is the sort of RS I like, franchises like the Wings are still paying for others but the gain something from it -------->more space to sign great players and put a winner on the ice. There is a reason why the MLB is working like a charm since Fehr introduced the luxury tax. If it takes a season or two to finally get in, count me in the game will be better than ever, without the stupid cap and player rights restrictions.
-
RS is basically an option not the answer. The league - especially the BOG - has allowed a certain guy too much power and therefore agreed to franchises that just can't support themselves, so what exac tly is the point of having them? Keep in mind, relocation =/= fold? Would I love seeing a 30 team league well run you can be t on it but as this stupid lockout has proven, that is not the case and the current regime will always find things to force their stupid parity s***. The 5 year contract limit is crap, it would basically remove a lot of player rights they've countered with a great proposal the NHL should be ashamed for not accepting it. It is not up to the players to give up money and their rights, so the league can continue to support piss poor owners and horrible run franchises. Believe I'd love seeing the Isles succesful again but as long as they have their japanse owner nothing is going to change. Why should a guy like Mike pay for him? Are the players without any sort of blame? No, but the hardline owners are just delusional for me I think it is time, for the good guys Mr. I, Dolan, Acqelani, Geffrey Molson and Snider to speak up against the BOG, their puppet and the play it poor owners because we then qualify for RS. Some NHL guys don't even understand the point of negotiating this, picking things you like and then modify those you don't like is the whole point of this. If I am a player and a guy with no hockey skills, no hockey sense and the charisma of a punching bag is calling me indirectly out like that you can bet I'd give my leader (Fehr) not only full support but also the green light to go nuclear against the BOG. I think the Wings as a club would benefit from decertification so I am all for it, no more stall lockout tactics every 5 years.
-
No the point is to force parity. We have the most competitive in all of sports why shouldn't he be allowed to spend 80 m on player salaries and ice a great team every year? Just because some questionable teams can't and wont even exist without RS? Too bad then they shouldn't have an NHL team. Liked the pre 2005 era much better...
-
If this league would have an open market, this problem would have been non existent. I don't want the game to "grow" I want it to be highly competitive, with HOCKEY franchises and no some stupid experiments. The NHL is a stubborn regime run by idiots, who think they just can lockout the players every 5 years and get their freaking will well this time the NHLPA will go into decertification before bending over. Just blow it up and start from scratch, the league does deserve to lose revenue in a big way.
-
NO T in theory also in the real hockey world, if an owner can't or wont offer such a contract too bad but it is on his own terms. I am freaking sick and tired of hearing Mr. ANTI hockey and his hardline ******* trying to support franchises that shouldn't even have an NHL team, while teams who are providing more revenue are left out (I.E QUEBEC, Hamilton). I now want the players to go nuclear and into decertification, they know some franchises won't survive an open market too bad the stubborn hardliners couldn't see that. The PA provided a fair proposal the NHL didn't even bother reading it so to hell with this league.
-
Wow just wow, screw them: The NHLPA made a great proposal and the blowfish group got greedy asking for even more, so in the end I'd say green light for decertification, teams like us will benefit heavily from that and no more bulls*** of growing the game. Man if I were a player, after such pressers I'd be fully unloading on a certain guy. Nobody is forcing the owners to hand out 8 year contracts, but they do provide safety for players and some are going to offer them.
-
Sometimes I wonder why these two clowns can't meet half way?! The NHL has their damn split, show some concessions at contract lenght and get this relationship done! Sent from my BlackBerry
