Evander Kane is a Better Option than Zach Parise

THIS IS AN 18 YEAR OLD EVANDER KANE! THIS IS KANE AT 20 YEAR OLD!!! I'm telling you... this kid is worth $6 million per year.

Evander Kane is a Better Option than Zach Parise

I say sign Evander Kane to $6 million per year over 10 years. ($60 million) Over time...he will be a steal at that price. Winnipeg lost – ($5.2) million last year with $43 million player payroll. This year they have a $51 million player payroll without restricted free agent Evander Kane, who is still unsigned. Is Winnipeg willing to increase their payroll budget to $57 million??? They’re trying to sign Kane to a $4 million deal. Evander’s stock is about to rise... Matching Evander Kane with the best... Evander Kane: 74GP, 30G, 27A, +11 ........($6 Million per year) 20 YEARS OLD!!!!!! Rick Nash: 82GP, 29G, 29A, -19 ...............($7.8 Million per year) 28 years old Pavel Datsyuk: 70GP, 19G, 48A, +21 .......($6.7 Million per year)34 years old Henrik Zetterberg: 82GP, 22G, 47A, +14 ($6.1 Million per year) 31 years old Zack Parise: 82GP, 31G, 38A, -5 ..............($7.54 Million per year) 28 years old Before you say, “Kane does not deserve Datsyuk and Zetterberg compensation.” If Zetterberg or Datsyuk’s contract were up, they would be signing a $7 million plus contract today. So the going rate is much higher than Zetterberg or Datsyuk’s contract. Also... money received in the past is worth more than the future. (Inflation... Zetterberg and Datsyuk have been spending their millions for several years.)

Evander Kane is a Better Option than Zach Parise

It's August 3rd and Evander Kane is still out there. He's better than old Shane Doan or Zack Parise. A 20 year old, 30 goals scorer... In fact, Parise will be considering retirement when Kane is in the middle of his career. I'd make an offer of $6 million year over ten years. He's worth a first, second, and third. OFFER COMPENSATION $1,110,249 or below None Over $1,110,249 to $1,682,194 Third-round choice Over $1,682,194 to $3,364,391 Second-round choice Over $3,364,391 to $5,046,585 First-round and third-round choice Over $5,046,585 to $6,728,781 First-round, second-round and third-round choice Over $6,728,781 to $8,410,976 Two first-round choices, one second- and one third-round choice Over $8,410,976 Four first-round choices

    March 26th, 1997...The Movie?

With all the big named stars everyone is assigning for roles... I think the payroll for the movie is up to $100 million.
  5. I have identified the top 8 and the bottom 8 franchises in the NHL. San Jose has a good team but their management is not on a successful path. The worst management is Phoenix, but the worst franchise is the NY Islanders. Anaheim and Columbus follow very closely behind. Nashville has excellent management but is stuck in a small market. It's important to note that Anaheim and Washington each have 9 unrestricted free agents next year. Vancouver will have difficulty keeping their talent inside the salary cap. Alexander Burrows could be wearing the winged wheel! Also... Anaheim is not generating enough revenue to maintain big names like Corey Perry. My prediction is Detroit will sign Alexander Burrows and Corey Perry next year. Rick Nash will be traded to the New York Rangers. Follow the money and it will help you make predictions. Operating Income Toronto $81,800,000 NY Rangers $41,400,000 Montreal $47,700,000 Vancouver $23,500,000 Detroit $16,300,000 Boston $2,700,000 Chicago $8,700,000 Philadelphia $3,200,000 Pittsburgh ($200,000) Calgary $1,100,000 Los Angeles ($2,000,000) Ottawa $2,800,000 New Jersey ($6,100,000) Minnesota ($5,900,000) Edmonton $17,300,000 San Jose ($7,800,000) Washington ($7,500,000) Dallas ($1,100,000) Buffalo $5,600,000 Tampa Bay ($8,500,000) Anaheim ($8,400,000) Colorado $6,100,000 Nashville ($7,500,000) Carolina ($4,400,000) Florida ($7,000,000) Columbus ($13,700,000) St. Louis ($2,700,000) Winnipeg ($5,200,000) Phoenix ($24,400,000) NY Islanders ($8,100,000)
  6. CINDY CROSBY HAS A SPINE???? Even Don Cherry, Rangers coach John Tortorella, and Flyers assistant coach craig Berube agrees with me.

Rating the NHL Franchises and Predictions

Wow... I'm shocked you don't like Burrows. We need a tough player in front of the opposing goalie. Next year Vancouver is facing 9 unrestricted free agents and 1 restricted. The following year the Sedin brothers are unrestricted free agents ($12.2million). If you do the math...Vanvouver is going to part with some top talent next year. The overtime king of goal scoring.

Rating the NHL Franchises and Predictions

lol...thanks for the bite... Look at the top. Anaheim can't afford to pay at the cap level. Anaheim lost $8.4 million with a payroll of $59 million. Next year they have 7 unrestricted free agents on the market and 2 restricted. The salary structure and budget in Anaheim is one of the worst in the NHL. Nashville got hammered this year. Next year is Anaheim's turn. Perry is going to ask $7.5 million. The young 50 goal scorer is worth the money.

With the available $13 million... The Wings need to sign Justin Abdelkader, Valtteri Filppula, Jimmy Howard and Brendan Smith...in this order. This strategy will position the Wings to sign Corey Perry and Alex Burrows.

Another option - Wait for 2013

Wings need to sign Justin Abdelkader, he and Tootoo will make a good grind line.

  14. All indications are pointing to Parise going to Pittsburgh or Philly. The Red Wings will then sign Ryan Suter and trade Johan Franzen for Rick Nash. However, there is a possibility the Wings could get Parise, Suter and Nash. Parise and Nash are both left wing. The Wings are thin at left wing.
  15. I don't feel sorry for Nashville... their getting 4 first rounders. I predict they won't match...in fact I'm 99 percent sure they won't.
  16. Wow...Pronger and Weber on the Philly blue line.... Glad they're in the other conference. However, Nashville gets 4 first round draft picks!!!! Nashville would be foolish to match the offer sheet. Shea Weber wants out and I'd be happy to let him go for that price. It's a great deal for Weber, Philly and Nashville. I think it was funny how many people on this board chastised me for suggesting we should offer sheet Shea Weber. He's the one guy I would have signed for $8 million per year. I had to hear how nobody ever does it... lol
  17. Red Wings Rebuilding and Adapting to Maintain Dominance The Detroit Red Wings have been in a rebuilding phase since Brian Rafalski hurt his knee and retired. But with Brad Stuart and Nick Lidstrom gone, this sends the Red Wing organization into a much deeper rebuilding process. We are the victim of our own success. The Wings were so dominate for so long that fans around the country figured who ever won the Detroit/Colorado series would become the Cup Champion. The Eastern Conference could only hope the two teams would beat each other up to have a chance. But not even the mighty Avalanche could keep up with the Red Wings. As a result the NHL introduced a policy of parity among teams. That’s why I laugh at all the knuckleheads on this forum who attack Kenny Holland and the Red Wing management. These are the same people who forced the NHL to change the rules toward parity. The Wings not only dominated the ice with leadership and skill, but their marketing dominated even the NHL front office through its Hockeytown campaign. They redefined the game with the left wing lock and a specialized system which was unique to the league. The Wings dominated with an active owner willing to commit the resources for developing talent and building morale. The Wings dominated in attendance and fan base around the league. But the biggest domination has been in the draft and evaluating talent. It really would have been scary if 11th round pick Vladimir Konstantinov played a full career alongside Nick Lidstrom. Kris Draper for a dollar from Winnipeg! Kirk Maltby a trade with Edmonton in '95 for defenseman Dan McGillis! WHO IS DAN McGILLIS!!!! Vladimir Konstantinov 1989: 11th round, (221st overall) Sergei Fedorov 1989 - 4th round (74th overall) Keith Primeau to Hartford for Brendan Shanahan! Nick Lidstrom 1989 - 3rd round (53rd overall) Slava Kozlov 1990 - 2nd round (45th overall) Bob Probert 1983 - 3rd (46th overall) Joe Kocur 1983 - 5th Round, (88th overall) Johan Franzen 2004 - 3rd round (97th overall) Darren Helm 2005 - 5th round (132nd overall) Pavel Datsyuk1998 - 6th round (171st overall) Valtteri Filppula 2002 - 3rd round (95th overall) Tomas Holmstrom 1994 - 10th round (257th overall) Henrik Zetterberg 1999 - 7th round (210th overall) Jonathan Ericsson 2002 - 9th Round, (291st overall) Chris Osgood 1991 - 3rd round (54th overall) Jimmy Howard 2003 - 2nd Rnd, (64th overall) This proves the Wings didn’t just throw money at players! They built a dominating franchise in all phases in the sport! THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT As Red Wing fans we need to accept this transition of rebuilding and not demand trades for overpriced forwards like Rick Nash ($7.8 annually). Don’t trade the youth… develop the youth! The NHL has changed the rules, now we need to adapt and dominate like we have in the past. The following list of Red Wing youth all have a tremendous chance to contribute to the organization. Doan staying in PHX 4 yrs $21.2 mill

I prefer bringing up the kids and signing long term contracts with Justin Abdelkader, Valtteri Filppula, Pavel Datsyuk and Brendan Smith. We can always sign Shea Weber for $8.5 million per year next year. He's one of the few players worth the money.

Doan staying in PHX 4 yrs $21.2 mill

Shane Doan wants $7.5 million per year over 4 years!!!!! HAHA!!!!!! I want to see another team sign that contract. PLEASE DON'T PICK US!!!! http://www.detroitnews.com/article/20120717/OPINION03/207170327/1128/SPORTS0103/Wings-treading-prudently-post-Lidstrom-juncture
  20. We need more style of play like Niklas Kronwall. http://youtu.be/fk3qIjz5EDM Pavel Datsyuk http:// youtu.be/fuedKsOGUCw and the work horse Darren Helm...
  21. Could the NHL drop the cap and floor after announcing a 70+ million cap???
  22. The one thing we can’t do as a franchise is live in the past saying… “We need to replace Lidstrom.” Our identity needs to adapt to the talent available. I would prefer the Wings focus on defense and becoming tough to play against. I want opponents coming to Detroit saying, “Oh crap… we play Detroit tomorrow.” The least penalized team label has to go. We need some bigger tougher players. I’m not talking about being dirty or fighting. I’m talking about agitators like Niklas Kronwall and Jordin Tootoo. http://youtu.be/G1bXbuRlS2I For those of you who want to remember the past. The best was Vladimir Konstantinov!
  23. Yes! You make my point! Let's bring these kids up and lets see what they are made of. Let the cream rise to the top. We live in a different time ladies and gentlemen. We can't build a dynasty through free agency. The salary cap will eventually burn you. BUILD FROM WITHIN!!!!!

Evander Kane is a Better Option than Zach Parise

But if you listen to some of the other knuckleheads on this forum, nobody else offers a sheet. So... maybe the Red Wings could shock the world and offer Evander to a long-term contract worth $5.05 million each year. If Winnipeg matches... Wheeler is available next year... and the Jets will be in worse financial shape to sign Wheeler. Do you see what I mean...? Even with a cap... Winnipeg has a hard time competing over time. The franchise only made $71 million last season, which is barely above the current cap. Keep in mind, this was the first year when all the fans were going nuts about the team moving back. Apparel was flying off the shelves. What happens when the fans start becoming complacent?
  25. MrBest7

    The Next Move

Suter and Parise are not worth $15 million per year. In the long run we will be a much better off... especially if we sign Shea Weber to a large contract. Then you will love Kenny Holland again.
