Evander Kane is a Better Option than Zach Parise

I love the fact that Winnipeg lost $5.4 million last year with $43 million dollar payroll. This new year they only have 19 players signed with a current payroll of $49.3 million. BUT THEY CAN SIGN EVANDER KANE!!!! Yeah right... They must have U.S. government politicians running the finance department. They're going to be losing at least $10 million if they sign Kane to a $4 million per year contract. The Jets are on an unsustainable position. Winnipeg would be wise to take the 1st, 2nd and 3rd picks.

Evander Kane is a Better Option than Zach Parise

Oh I get it... since it never happens we should never sign an offer sheet. What if the Wings never went to Europe to acquire Federov and Lidstom? "Because most of the other teams didn't." That's a lame excuse. Evander Kane will be in this league for the next 16 years scoring 30 goals every year. BUT... nobody signs offer sheets! If we offer $5,046,585 per year, I think Winnipeg will cave. They're trying to sign him for $3 or $4 million per year. This way Kane goes to a winning team, earns more money, and Winnipeg gets something for him...1st, 2nd, and a 3rd. http://www.winnipegsun.com/2012/06/29/jets-pondering-cash-for-kane Even without Kane, the Jets will have a payroll over $50 million. I doubt they match $5 million. signing that kind of deal would put them very close to a $60 million budget. Their entire revenue for 2011 was $71 million! They also lost $5 million last year! TRUST ME! KANE IS OURS IF WE WANT HIM! http://www.forbes.com/teams/winnipeg-jets/

Evander Kane is a Better Option than Zach Parise

My point is that Evander Kane will prove to be a better player than Parise. Sign him to a $5,046,585 multi-year deal! Give up a first and a third. Whatever it takes... When a 20 year old scores 30 goals in 74 games, that shows something special. OFFER COMPENSATION $1,110,249 or below None Over $1,110,249 to $1,682,194 Third-round choice Over $1,682,194 to $3,364,391 Second-round choice Over $3,364,391 to $5,046,585 First-round and third-round choice Over $5,046,585 to $6,728,781 First-round, second-round and third-round choice Over $6,728,781 to $8,410,976 Two first-round choices, one second- and one third-round choice Over $8,410,976 Four first-round choices

Wings may trade Johan Franzen for Rick Nash?

Read between the lines Swede... if Parise doesn't sign with us a right winger will be traded.

Wings may trade Johan Franzen for Rick Nash?

Your content with a good portion of the team playing out of position? I don't think Holland thinks that way. Reading between the lines, we're positioning ourselves to trade for LW Nash if LW Parise signs elsewhere. There is nothing "rumor" about this, the facts say we have too many people playing out of position. All indications say a trade is coming if Parise signs somewhere else.

Wings may trade Johan Franzen for Rick Nash?

This trade only makes sense! We currently have six right wingers, which makes left wing very thin. I'm predicting we trade one of our right wingers for a left winger. The only trade which makes sense is Franzen for Nash. Their similar in size and scoring. Nash is 5 years younger and gets paid about $3 million more. The likelihood of this happening is very possible if Parise signs elsewhere.

    Red Wings 6 Right Wingers?

Whoa... You're right... Rick Nash is a left winger! I do sense a trade coming... You don't think Johan Franzen will be traded for Rick Nash???? Nash is 5 years younger, scores about the same and is the same size! hmmm...

    Red Wings 6 Right Wingers?

Buying out Patrick Eaves contract would free up $800,000 in cap space.

Ilitch, Chelios to fly to Suter, Holland to fly to Parise

Zach Parise wants $24 million in signing bonus! This guy is becoming way over priced. THAT'S 63 PERCENT OF THE PHOENIX COYOTES CURRENT PAYROLL!!! I'd rather target defenseman Ryan Suter and Jason Garrison. I'd stay in the Parise bidding just to jack up the price for Pittsburgh.

Ilitch, Chelios to fly to Suter, Holland to fly to Parise

Last minute change.... Ken Holland will not meet personally with Zach Parise... not a good sign. Word has it that Pittsburgh wants Parise playing with Crosby. Crosby is friends with Parise and called him personally. As of Sunday, 1:35pm.

    Message to Ken Holland...

Excellent point...You make a good case to wait for next year when he's unrestricted... However...there is one scenario we haven't thought about... Nashville trading Shea Weber for multiple players at the trading deadline. It happened with Eric Lindros... hence the might Colorado Avalanche were created under Patrick Roy.

    Message to Ken Holland...

Weber will rarely make great passes to rack up a lot of assists like Lidstrom. . Weber is in the category of , and . Opposing players hate 7 game series against these style of players. They sap the energy out of the best players. I trade and research stock for a living. So I naturally think of future potential in players, because past performance doesn't make money. However, the past can help understand the future. I'm always looking for the next Microsoft or next Lidstrom or next Chris Pronger... It's in my blood...

    Message to Ken Holland...

I want the small Nashville market to over pay for Shea Weber. I think Nashville is getting a deal for $7.5 million. Without the cap, Shea Weber would easily have a salary of $10 million. Nashville paying $10 million WITH the cap... priceless!
  23. MrBest7

    Message to Ken Holland...

I understand that... but the Preds will have to pay Weber $8.5m instead of $7.5m. This will put Nashville in a bad place, because if they don't match it....Weber is a Wing. If they do match, then they have $1m less to work with in a small market.

    Message to Ken Holland...

My point was... Lidstrom can't fight and blow people off their skates. Fifteen years from now, Lidstrom and Weber will be labeled as two of the best defensemen ever to play the game. I doubt our 3 future first round picks will ever be that good. Weber is a proven commodity...the future 3 first rounders are not... In the first 6 years Lidstrom had 60 goals, Weber had 97 goals on an average Nashville team. Both are great and accomplish their business in different ways. Lidstrom would prefer to poke-check, Weber prefers to check. My point is... Anyone close to the ability of Lidstrom is worth 3 first rounders!!!!!
