  1. confirmed 5 years @ 5 mil per - i'm happier with weiss
  2. per Nick Kypreos - Cleary replacement?
  3. Per Lebruns twitter https://twitter.com/real_espnlebrun/status/352903687330467841. Wouldn't mind it for the right price
  4. Ugh why couldn't we have had all of this cap space when Hossa was a free agent.
  5. lol sad but true
  6. One year deal, absolutely zero risk. Worst case scenario is he sucks (which I doubt, playing on Pav's wing). Best case scenario is he returns to being a 40 goal scoring sniper. Sure is going to suck sitting on all of that cap space with nobody to sign (even if we do sign Doan which we probably won't, we still could have afforded both). The fact that we showed almost no interest is baffling given Semin's potential. I know Holland has pursued all the top guys this summer and unfortunately struck out on all of them. The thing that pisses me off is the lack of foresight for the seasons leading up to this. Did he really think Nick was going to play forever? If all of us knew that Stuart was going back to California after this season, I'm sure Holland had some sort of idea. I really hope I'm wrong because I love this team but as it stands now I just don't see us as a contender. We're pretty much the same team as 08 just 4 years older with no Lidstrom and Stuart. It sucks.
  7. Kinding feeling like at this point hopefully the cap will go down after the new CBA is worked out and other teams will be forced to get rid of some decent players that we can in turn hopefully pick up.
  8. If they could afford to match it then good for them but at least we would have had a chance at landing him. I guess all I'm trying to say is I believe that we would have had a better chance at signing him to an offer sheet rather than trying to work out a trade. Could be wrong - just my opinion.
  9. An offer sheet was the only chance we had of getting Weber. I'm sure I don't know a whole lot about how the whole front office thing works but I'd be willing to bet there was no chance in hell that Poile was trading Weber to us. I'm hoping Kenny would be smart enough to realize that as well. I understand he doesn't like the whole idea of signing other team's RFA's but I feel like if there was ever a time to go for broke and do it, this was it.
  10. I just do not understand why Holland would not even try to acquire Weber. With Lidstrom and Stuart gone and all of the cap space we have it just doesn't make any sense. Now we have absolutely no chance of ever seeing Weber wear the winged wheel. I really hope Smith is going to be able to be the man because nobody is trading us a top d-man without getting a king's ransom in return. Still have faith in Holland but this sh*t is starting to get old.
  11. Should have offered Weber at least 14 years/115 mil.....would not have been upset with it at all
  12. As it stands today the Flyers future looks a lot brighter than the wings, regardless of Weber
