No you're right that was not the only thing I took from your post. I do agree pretty well %100 with about about where our defence ranks, the only thing I didn't understand was shatbirgs lol. I agree not many teams have a "great" defense, they just have a couple key guys thats it.

I hope you're right, but I think that bettman and the owners are willing to go all year if they have to like last night. It's very unfortunate for the fans, I just want to see the wings play before Datsyuk gets too old

While I understand Fehr's point of view here, about players losing rights and what not, I do not understand why they are not meeting and trying to come to an agreement somewhere in the middle. We have been locked out going on 5 days and no meetings have taken place, and no meetings are scheduled. It appears both sides have the same approach, do nothing till the other side caves. best idea my friend ever had, set up a season in nhl 13, with 20 minute periods and just watch the games play like you're watching the real nhl, and pretend we have hockey!

Who are the shatbirds? I don't know of such a team in the nhl. In fact it would be so much easier and more mature if you used actual names, likes sharks, not sharts. o_0 Thank you, finally someone else has said it. I said it all year last year that he was playing like s***, no one believes me.

Kronner and White both have more then 7 years experience, the average age of our defence may be 27 but I think they are highly underrated. Smith (if he is as good as we think) will be great, Colaiacovo is a very solid d-man as long as he stays healthy. Ericsson has progressively gotten better year by year, and made no where near as many mistakes last year (in fact stuart made more mistakes). Quincey may flourish this year in our system, and kindl will probably still be crap. but all in all I would rate our defence in the top 10-15

I am afraid you are wrong here, they would need to be done by December 1, 2012. Not because they can't cancel the classic after that date (they can can cancel up to the day of). The reason is because they work too hard and they need their christmas vacation which should run from December 1 to about January 15. I think they are currently on thanksgiving vacation too. I'll be the first to say it, since no one has yet. You are on a Red Wings Forum, and you could not even spell our newly retired captains name properly? there is no N in Lidstrom.
