Personal note to the denizens of this season's GDTs:  I miss you all and enjoyed our chats during the games.  Even though most were awful losses, you were there for the celebrations of the good outings... and there will be more of them.  You are good and loyal fans of our Wings.  Stay well and be safe/sane about this situation we are in, as a nation. 
I just wanted to say hello to each of you, and hope to see you soon - Dabby, Mabus, Legs, Y19, Neo -- all of you fine people.  Looking forward to next season now.

Bill Daly has already been quoted saying, whatever happens this season, will not have any effect on next season.

It's the right move.

We are official folks, in the meantime PLEASE continue your activity, but keep it within the terms of use, NO POLITICS. If you guys want a discussion thread going about the ongoing virus, with updates and whatnot, that's perfectly fine, but keep politics out of it entirely. This goes for discussion, memes, pictures, avatars, and anything inbetween. There are virtually millions of other places on the internet to discuss politics, keep it off of these boards. 
Everyone be safe, take care of yourself and your loved ones, don't get trampled for toilet paper, and we hope to have hockey back sooner than later.

In an effort to replicate what was done in Detroit with the Russian Five, Kenny has been secretly traveling to China to scout with the plan of shocking the world and drafting only Chinese players in the 2020/2021 draft, and creating thus what will be know as the "Mandarin Five" line, which will dominate the NHL for years to come.

We need many things to be back into serious business again. For not being as bad as we are we need to anchor our defense. If Danny DeKeyser is your best defenseman you're in big trouble. It's hard to predict who will still be available for us, but we have the capspace and we should make use of it.
Second thing we need is a goaltender. I think Howard is done. Maybe he gets back to his old self, but at 36 years that is more unlikely than anything else. I'm still a big proponent of signing Lehner on a 3-4 year deal. Again, we have the capspace and with 29 years he is still in his prime most of the contract. Geogiev is also an option I'd like to see here.
