  1. I don't think Vanek will go for as much as some people think he will. The last trade deadline he was dealt he performed pretty badly and then didn't turn many heads in Minnesota. He's done great here in Detroit this season but a couple injuries hurt his value a bit as well. I just feel like GM's won't be busting the bank for him. I guess it all depends on demand so we'll see. If we were in good shape I'd love to keep him but as it stands I'd be okay if we get a first for him. Honestly I feel like we could get more for Green.
  2. Yea he did don't kid yourself if we had only Mrazek last season we would not have made playoffs. Jimmy has single handedly won us some games in the last few seasons. He definitely has some confidence issues but without Jimmy our streak probably would have ended around 22.
  3. Guys, It's easy. Backup plays Defense. Boom. Two birds one stone. But somebody else has to play the puck for Jimmy. Obviously.
  4. My point was if they already have chosen better young D from other teams. I'm not exactly sure what's available from other teams but I assume there are going to be quite a few young players with unknown potential available. I agree it's far more likely that they would take them I'm just speculating possibilities. I'd really like to see a few mock Vegas drafts to see what people come up with.
  5. Yea I was wondering that too. Last thing they would want for their brand new team is a long line of players saying they would rather retire than play there. I know Vegas would most likely want to draft a lot of younger players. But as mentioned they will also need to hit the cap floor. They would also need at least a few veteran players to show the kids the way. Not to mention Vegas is going to try and draw a new fan base and I don't think a team of "nobodies" would be appealing as say having Henrik Zetterberg as your captain. It really depends on who is available from other teams. I say if have better options from other teams then taking a Zetterburg or Kronwall might be fairly appealing. Thinking along these lines I could definitely see Kenny protecting these guys.
  6. Do you guys really think that Kenny won't protect Kronwall?
  7. should we really be breaking nyquist off the helm vanek line? they have been amazing. Although I do think the lines look a bit better now. Not sure about Shehan up there but well see
  8. Agreed. I'd definitely throw Sproul in right now especially if Kronwall is coming back soon.
  9. Khan said it http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2016/10/red_wings_jeff_blashill_on_tee.html#incart_river_index
  10. Apparently Holland tried to trade both Frk and Pulk but wasn't able to get anything for them. I'm sure it was fairly obvious to these teams that they could probably just wait for waivers. Should have tried to trade Pulk a while back. I do feel that Holland is not capable of making a notable trade, which makes him useless considering all the prospects we have horded. They are all losing value at this point. It's fairly obvious we need a change. The league knows him too well and he's gotten stale. He can take Blash with him.
  11. Have you been holding that one in all day?
  12. The "sending the puck to the forward" part is exactly what he is talking about. If our D can't break it out worth a s*** then there isn't much our offense can do about it. Then it's right back to defending again.
  13. Captain Ott! oh wait Buffalo beat us to it.
  14. Last we heard he was walking around the Joe kicking tires trying to get his team a new starter pokemon.
  15. I think our team will be slightly better this year although I think other teams in our division got even better, so does that make us worse by comparison? Montreal has made a few acquisitions and have their tender back. Tampa will be as strong as ever Florida is looking deadly Buffalo could probably push for a playoff spot New Jersey looks like they could keep hold of a wildcard spot When I see this stuff I feel like wings are worse only by comparison. I think we gotta hope Boston and the Islanders drop off. Either way I picture us struggling for wildcard spot the same as the last couple of seasons and this year we may not be so lucky.
