    Naming The New Arena Suggestion

As a "Newbie" to the community and a fellow "Wing-Nut" (believe it or not, there are a few of us in Toronto ), I'm asking all hockey people and people of influence in the Detroit area to contact Olympia Entertainment and urge them to reconsider the name of the new home of the Wings. As everybody knows, the current home of the team bears the name of a man who moved to Detroit and became a global sports legend-Joe Louis. This tradition should continue by naming the new arena: "THE GORDIE HOWE OLYMPIA" ...thereby honouring both "Mr. Hockey" and the place where he helped to make Detroit "Hockey Town U.S.A.". In addition to Olympia Entertainment (contact through the Wings' website), I've sent e-mails to every NHL team as well as Mayor Duggan and Detroit personality Mitch Albom. Don't confuse "Olympia Entertainment" (Wings owner) with "Olympia Management" (Nevada real estate company). Many of you may be aware that they're building a new international bridge between Windsor and Detroit that will bear Gordie's name, but there's no law that restricts naming rights to only one structure, besides, the new arena is much more meaningful. Olympia Entertainment would also get their name incorporated into the building, but that's a minor issue... Thanks, Jim
