Kings, blackhawks and penguins are our last 5 champs. All three have used analytics in some form or another to gain an edge on the rest of the league. The dark side seems undefeated to me Colorado and Detroit are the two most anti-analytics, stuck in the past teams in the league. Doing pretty well right now eh

The red wings are currently bottom 5 in score adjusted corsi, bottom 10 in scoring chances, bottom 10 in high danger scoring chances and also just as bad in scoring chances against. Id say they belong right where they are. 27th in the league. Bring on the draft.

I don't think motivation is the main problem when you look at the lineup card. But yes I would replace him. After Holland. Somebody needs to send daily reminders to Frank that Columbus is in fact, a top 10 calibre team. This ain't 2009 anymore, Columbus was actually favored in Detroit for the first time in history last week.

Coyotes are on b2b, 3/4, 4/6, 6/9 tonight. If the Wings can't beat this team they might as well just throw in the towel on the season.

IMO it's pretty important to understand this: We're just customers to a product run and played by millionaire businessmen and athletes who would not even take a look at us if we were set on fire. With that in mind, there's no reason for anybody to remain dead loyal to any product. Especially not one as mediocre as the Red Wings. -

Mrazek haters are going to be eating a lot of crow at the end of the year, IMO.. His 5v5 numbers are still very solid when you adjust for how many scoring opportunities the defense gives up to their opponents

Per my friend's own calculations (he's an analytics-reliant gambler), this is true. Mrazek vs Howard in this game isn't much of a difference because the Pens are so favored to win (68%+ either way). Against the Islanders, Mrazek gives the Wings a 2% edge over Howard (44% vs 42%)
