.918 vs .914 career save percentage. The Coyotes misappropriation of analytics shouldn’t be used to judge its usefulness. There obviously has to be balance with traditional scouting used. Using analytics as a sole basis for every personal decision, even when comparing apples v oranges (WHL v CHL), is foolish.

You could be right, but I think they want someone NHL ready-ish to help get bounced in the first round of next years playoffs. Turcotte fills that spot. The wings need help down the middle, he is fast which they rightfully put a premium on, his 2 way game is nhl ready, and he is physically mature enough. If it weren’t for them already having Rasbustessen then Dach would probably be the pick.

That’s because the bust rate is so high and the difference between Howard and Price is a very small gap. Where as the top center (Crosby/McDavid vs Larkin) or even worse the top 2nd line center vs whoever we slum with is a much wider gap. Analytics has killed goalies value not overall talent being produced. The old hockey sayings about goalies is like talking about putting in golf. The facts run through simulation and analysis of real events state both are extremely overrated.

They hype every top goalie prospect. If he is American he is the next quick, Swede=lundqvist, Canadian- price etc... One of Zegras, Turcotte (who I think they will pick), Byram (who I think Chicago will pick), or Cozens will be available. No need to trade back unless it is with Buffalo get both 1st rounders or the same scenario with Anaheim.

What is everyone’s fascination with Dach? Very underwhelming production given his size advantage amongst his peers. Plus his skating isn’t very strong.

Rasmussen hasn’t looked very good at all. Hopefully the light clicks on, he becomes a better skater, and adds much needed muscle. Eve with all that his skill set is limited. I liked Necas a lot but the front office wanted size and grit in that draft...

I’m more bullish on Zegras than Cozens. What if the hypothetical is Hughes= Kane and Zegras=Datsyuk? If your scouts give those comparisons then you absolutely do the trade. However they would have to sweeten the pot with a prospect or 2020 1st. Your negotiating from a position of strength with a prospect like Hughes coming out so don’t sell yourself short.

In all seriousness the only two prospects in the top 10 that I have concerns regarding are Dach and Broberg. Dach seems limited in today’s NHL (not a great skater, limited offense) and there are concerns offensively with Broberg as well.

I wouldn’t mind a trade back if it landed a nhl ready or near ready A prospect or for a package of picks that included a couple 1st round picks. I just hope we don’t draft Krebs.

Vasili Podkolzin will be drafted in the top 5.

Toronto needs defense so the only way they trade Liljegren is for a top pair, or if internally they don’t view him developing into that. Either scenario the red wings should stay away.

There is nothing funny about that... I am not familiar with Canadian law on harassment, but I don’t think much will come of it. The best thing for Karlsson would be to be traded at the draft. -

No, I would welcome a skilled center who is 17 and playing very well against men. Centers>Wingers, and he is big so I am surprised you don’t like him. Oh, I understand he is a Finn so he sucks in your mind. If he was John Smith from London, ON you would love the pick.
